It seems like Black Noir is still alive and Negan is an old friend of Butcher. That last shot though.

There was one shot of a guy with curly hair who might be Sam attacking protestors. (The evidence of it being Sam being that he has long sleeves, and behind the scenes pictures from Gen V show Asa Germann wearing long sleeve clothes to hide his right arm being in a cast as a result of an injury during shooting.)

Not really any different from Black Mirror being a scathing satire on technology, big corporations, and Bread and Circuses while being an original of Netflix. Same with Squid Game and its satire of capitalism being a Netflix original and having a shitton of merch.

When you make a successful piece of subversive entertainment, you're going to have to accept you'll look at least a little bit like a hypocrite.

Yeah capitalism commodifying their criticism against them is nothing new.

I think I saw a glimpse of Cate in the teaser. At about 0:57, you see Homelander shaking the right hand of a woman wearing a black coat, a coat that looks rather flat looking on the left side, as if being worn by a certain someone who is missing their arm.

It does irks me a bit how they went from going from "SUPERHERO FRANCHISES ARE BAD/OVERSATURED" to having three spinoffs about it, basically becoming it's own edgy cinematic universe. I mean, i can’t blame the show for Amazon milking a profitable franchise for all its worth, The Boys and Invincible are pretty much the only shows they own with any online fanbase.

Something that still seems strange to me is that there are no "super-villains" in either medium.

Not really that strange. Vought's heroes are already well-established as ready and willing to kill criminals without a second thought, so there's no plausible chance of recurring villains, even if it were possible to make a villain without damaging Vought's image, which Vought is genocidally protective of.

The WMG page had a theory that Jack from Jupiter would show up as a parody of Star-Lord, and I think that's the way to go. Feels more in-line with how Vought operates in the show compared to faking an alien, and it would be easier on the budget.

So they've just released new posters for Homelander and Victoria Neuman...

...Anyone else thinking that all this advertising showing Homelander and Victoria in cahoots is just a case of misdirection?

Because I certainly do. We know from the ending of Gen V that Victoria has the Supe virus sample that Cardosa and Shetty had been working on. Combine that with the fact that known newcomers Sister Sage and Firecracker will be new villains and allies to Homelander, and I personally believe that we're going to see Victoria betray Homelander in a big way. She's probably not too enthusiastic about allying with a sociopath who killed someone in broad daylight and got cheered on for it (and besides, she was visibly scared of him when they spoke in the barn in 3x07). Victoria won't necessarily become a firm ally of the Boys, but she will continue to embody what Stan Edgar taught her: to play all sides.

Bad news: Andre's actor Chance Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27.

And of course, this means production that was scheduled to start next month has been delayed.

I'm experiencing flashbacks to how I think most of us felt when we learned of Chadwick Boseman's passing. I half-expect that they'll do with Andre what the MCU did with T'Challa. Not to sound cynical, but they pretty conveniently have an 'out' of sorts since the last two episodes were setting the foundation for a storyline where his powers were slowly killing him (a la football players with CTE-style). They could probably kill off Andre that way offscreen.

Whatever the case, there's definitely going to need to be a boatload of rewrites needed for the scripts, and of course crew/cast needs time to grieve. They probably aren't going to be back to shooting until at least late July or early August at the earliest.
