OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.
If you have questions or concerns about mod implementation or action, we have a thread for that here.
Alright? Thank you all for waiting this out. I hope we're all good now.

Since you can create a new save file for every registered user on the system, I'll probably just pick all three and send them to a single save-file using the GTS
I just hope none of the starters have a "sudden twist" final evolution like the Litten line did...
Pokemon never has multiple saves for a reason,so you have either 1) Buy another copy 2) buy the other version
aww buff cat was a nice surprise

New theme music also a boxNow we just need someone who always picks the Grass Type starter (except Snivy) and we'll be all set!
I've mostly picked Grass starters (and yes, I picked Snivy with absolutely no regrets). I kind of broke that pattern recently, since I went with Fennekin for X and Popplio for Moon.
It’s already possible to use the Switch’s multiple profiles to have multiple saves in LGPE. There’s no good reason why the same wouldn’t be the case in SwSh.

SoundCloudThey can also go back on that. There are a few Switch games that require every profile on the system be credited that game before they can play it, or at least things like downloadable content.
But they probably won't, which is why they're pushing all these pre-order double pack bonuses.

Well, I did say no good reason.
SoundCloudDude. Game Freak and Nintendo. There's a lot of precedent for weird decision-making there.
We were already promised a humanoid Fire starter, though.
... And that's called jazz!Okay, just in case I have to explain... if you look at Litten and Torracat, there's absolutely no way you'd think "yeah, this thing is gonna turn into a wrestler".
Samurott and Greninja also kind of have that problem.
Plus, y'know, people were expecting something like a panther, and instead got a discount Fire/Fighting starter. I don't know anybody else, but I was kinda disappointed by this.
Rowlet has that problem too. It and Dartrix look like little fancy pantses, while Decidueye is a badass Ghost archer.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Decidueye is a slow owl lol lol lol
New theme music also a boxDartrix does as least have its leaves being throwing knives as part of its design, which kind of connects to its evolution's archer theme.
Samurott being a quadruped is unexpected, but the samurai theme exists in its pre-evolutions.
I'm not in a position to type out a full length post on why every starter fits their final evolution, but after thinking about it, every other starter fits or has something that ties into its final evolution except for the already mentioned Litten and Charmander.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I have three categories:
Natural endpoint: Venusaur, the Gen 2 starters, the Gen 3 starters, Torterra, Empoleon, Serperior, Emboar, Greninja, and Primarina
Weird flex but OK: Charizard, Blastoise, Infernape, Samurott, Delphox, and Incineroar.
Who the hell even are you: Chesnaught and Decidueye. (This is not an insult against them, but an insult against Quilladin and Dartrix.)
It's been 3000 years…OK, random question, but we can all agree that they're running some kind of marketing angle on the non-reveal of Impidimp right? There's definitely a "There, but never really acknowledged" meme going on here.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectDepends on what we end up learning about Impidimp itself, but not sure if it's intentional.
That would be brilliant actually.
The reason I even asked is because the choice to not even mention it even when it was blatantly obvious seems a bit calculated.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectMaybe it's the psuedo and they're waiting to say so.
I mean, I doubt it because it's not a dragon, draconic-esque, or metagross, but it's a possibility

Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiIt's considered so cursed/dangerous in universe that prefers to pretend it doesn't exist and GameFreak is going along with it out of universe as well. We won't get any info on it until the games are released.

Maybe it doesn't look like a dragon at first, but it's final evolution does. Would be funny if its final form looks like a red seven-headed dragon, just to poke fun at the "Pokemon is satanic!" claims of the past.
Huh, curious. I always pick the Water starter (except for Oshawott), haha
Gotta love these out-of-context pagetoppers, btw
