OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.
If you have questions or concerns about mod implementation or action, we have a thread for that here.
Alright? Thank you all for waiting this out. I hope we're all good now.

But, is it lighter then a witch?
Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiBy that logic, witches are part-Grass.
Well they are made of wood.
Witch-hazel to be precise
New theme music also a boxSo, witch-based Grass Pokémon.
...yeah, I dig it. Can we have that sometime?
Why not both?
That's actually a cool idea too.
...gimme a moment. Had a brain thingy.

Ok, idea: two stage evolution.
First stage is a Grass/Flying type. It's based on a witch's broom. It's read all sorts of books on witches, and wants to become like one. Evolves by using a Dusk Stone, into...
Second stage is a Grass/Psychic type. It's still based on the witch, but due to the interaction with the Dusk Stone, it used a bunch of leaves to create a humanoid-figure on top of itself, which houses the Dusk Stone and gives it Psychic powers. It's ability is Disguise, as most Pokémon figure the witch is the main body, when it's actually still the broom part. That way, it fulfills it's wish to become a witch.
It's a bit messy for a concept, but I kinda like it.

Personally, I'd take the broom as a potential thematic partner for Delphox. But sounds good too. Maybe be Grass/Ghost or Grass/Dark instead. EDIT: If Grass/Ghost, then Reaper Cloth?

I doubt it's a Farfetch'd evolution/variant, simply because this would be such an odd way to introduce one. It'd make more sense for a minor legendary or mythical or something like that. Think about the Ultra Beasts and Meltan/Melmetal, for instance. The former were played up as these mysterious things and weren't even referred to as Pokemon at first, and the latter were introduced as a strange new discovery in GO. In both cases, such cryptic reveals fit them thematically. Farfetch'd, not so much.
Then again, maybe there is precedent for this. Some other Pokemon introduced in a way that didn't quite fit, or that drew more attention to it than The Law of Conservation of Detail dictates.
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Farfetch'd, so I was hoping it was a fakeout for a new Eeveelution. But it's probably just an overhyped Galarian Farfetch'd.
I'm not sure where Serebii got the news, but it looks like the next batch of Sword/Shield info is coming on September 18th at 1300 UTC (6 am PDT, 9 am EDT, 2 pm BST, 10 pm JST).
EDIT: Here's the official link. The translation seems to be they'll fix the glitch at that time.]]

The new pokemon is probably something technology related or something themed around hiding or sabotage. This reveal makes more sense that way.
Galarian Rotom
Secret SignatureIf you go to the site you can hear rotoms cry, but itnlooks nothing like it.
Oh, gods, please don't let it be Rotom. I can barely stand the existing one to begin with.
It's amazing how the Rotomdex turned so many people against the species.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Interesting that a new Rotom forme would be pure Fighting type. Maybe it's actually Electric/Fighting, and it's Rotom possessing a mechanical training dummy?
Its not rotom guys comon. Its not even orange, and its ability isnt levitate. Plus its implied to be a form or evolution.
Okay, let's do the math:
If we go by Wikipedia, a set of armor could vary between 50 lbs (for field armor) and 110 lbs (for proper jousting armor). If your average lance weighted 5-7 lbs but could reach 15 lbs, then let's say a shield would weight around 5 lbs and say the whole set (armor included) could weight around 130 lbs. Again, this is considering human-sized equipment, which should be larger than something made for your usual leek-brandishing avian.
Subtract that from this Pokémon's total weight and you have around 127.9 lbs. That's still almost 4 times the weight of Vanilla Farfetch'd.
I mean, either this isn't Sirfetch'd or there's something really wrong with this birb.
... And that's called jazz!Eh, Pokémon height and weight are generally bullshit anyways.
Even if the new Pokemon isn't wearing armor, the weapon and possible shield may be heavy. They might also be bulkier than the picture appears.
Right now we don't know much to say what's going on with the Pokemon's weight.
