Sennen nods.

"Actually, I'd say the chest's got a point for once. There's no use standin' around when our target's across the seas, is there?"

Ya fellers can go ahead. (Felix says, looking a bit wistful.) With how old 'n sick I am by now, I'd be surprised if I even made it back here. I do want t' spend the rest of my time here bein' around my friends 's much as I can.

"Thanks, sir. Oh, and, uh, sorry 'bout your bed there." Gabrielle says sheepishly with an awkward grin.

"...hnnn..." There's not a lot the boy's doing right here. In fact, there's quite a lot he's doing wrong. He, somewhat appropriately, looks more like a scared child hoisting up a heavy sword for the first time in his life against some unseen threat than the image of a true warrior evoked by, well, by Ezekiel himself. Would it truly be prideful to say he's the genuine article? And more over, how to delicately break it to Kauri that he's not quite striking that image?

"...now, I'd like for you to keep that stance and give your sword a hearty swing." Trial by fire, or something more like assessment by fire. The raccoon takes a step back.

   Fine by me. Well let's go, gang. If just asking for the shard doesn't go well we may have to plan for a heist.   

's fine...not th' first time it's toppled over like that, I tell yeah. (Felix chuckles to Gabrielle.)

Here, lemme set it back up for you! (Ira says. He grabs the end of the bed and pushes it back down. It comes down way too fast and, despite Ira grabbing for it, slams into the floor with a wham, shaking the room.)

Aye! Careful ye don't bring th' whole lighthouse down doin' that, much less the bed! (Felix says, trying to regain his footing.)

Sorry... (Ira says, sheepishly.)

He hesitantly nods and hhhhhoists! the sword over his shoulder. "Hup!" The simple of act of preparing a strike messed up his balance a smidge. "Nnh! HaaAAAH!" With all of his might, he swings the sword diagonally downwards. The weight and momentum threw his body forward and the sword ends up digging it's tip into the ground. He almost falls over, but the planted blade helps him catch himself.

"Well? What're we waitin' for?"

Sennen is hovering round the door with the tetchy energy of one absolutely raring to go on an Actual Adventure.

Yeah, uh, rest of you guys ready to go get this Shard? (Ira asks the others.)

Having been quiet since the crew entered the lighthouse, Victor decides to speak up. He is still not entirely sure what this Shard is or what they are after, but he does owe them for saving his life.

"I'm ready to go, if you want me to come... I did promise I'd help you guys," he says.

"Yeah, I'm pretty much ready to go", said Nephenee, following Sennen's lead towards the door herself.

"It's not like there's anything else to do here, right?"

Well, let's head out, then! (Ira says. He turns to Felix.) Thanks for your cooperation, Felix. Take care.

Good luck, fellers. (Felix says.) Yer really gonna need it...

(Ira turns to Melvin.) Well, you lead the way, captain!

Ezekiel shakes his head, removing himself from his stance. "Would you call that a successful swing of your blade?" If Kauri had an answer, Ezekiel cuts him off within a second, "Don't answer that, we've not much time."

He stabs his sword into the ground, getting into your typical pugilist's stance. "This would strike as a harsh pivot for a novice like yourself, lad, but when a boxer readies his fist, he brings his foot back like so. This gives his arm leverage and space to put power into his swing." He interrupts himself and glances at Kauri momentarily. "...if you're going to mimic me, lad, I would advise resting the tip of your blade on the ground for now."

Looking ahead, he continues, "His off-leg—" He adjusts his left foot. "—acts as a lever for the rest of his body, so that—" Pulling his fist back, he shoots off what could've been a devastating roundhouse to anything but the air, his body swinging around before he plants his right foot down, a mirror to his original stance. His fur bristles from the wind kicked up by his punch, and with a smile, he finishes, "he may put as much force as is necessary behind his fist."

Reaching around, he grabs his sword and transfers it to his left hand, still in that mirrored stance. "A swordsman operates on much the same principle." One-handing his blade, he swings it across and up, again hoisting his left side around until his off-leg is back where it was before. Sheathing his blade, he then looks to Kauri, still holding his stance as a reference for the boy.

He tries to copy Ezekiel again. The lack of a sword in his hands means there's no weight to manage. At the very least, he knows how to throw a decent double hammer-fisted swing.

"Alright, lessgo!"

And with that, Sennen, who apparently did not hear the part where Ira offered the opportunity to lead the way to her captain, charges at full tilt down the stairs of the lighthouse.

(Samuel and Samantha follow along)

"Woah... looks like someone's ready to go." Melvin chuckles.

"Come on." He begins to lead the others back outside.

Victor waves goodbye to Felix and follows Melvin.

(Ira lumbers on down the stairs behind Melvin.)

Klamptrap follows after them.

   Last one to the ship has to help paddle it if the sails and rudder breaks down!   

Ezekiel nods approvingly. "That's much better, lad."

The raccoon thinks for a moment. "...if you were to try for another swing, I'd like you to do it..." He walks over and holds out the hilt of his own blade for Kauri to grab. "—with this." Ezekiel's blade may not be so considerably lighter compared to Old Silver, but it would be a noticeable difference between the two.

"O-Okay." Kauri briefly holds off on that, picking up Old Silver's scabbard and placing it on the ground near the blade impaled into the ground. He then approaches Mr. Ezekiel and carefully takes hold of the handle. Sword now in his right hand, he turns away from the privateer and gives the thing a couple experimental waves. "This… isn't as heavy!" Getting a fairly good handle of it, he clasps the sword in both hands. Again, he assumes the stance Mr. Ezekiel showed before swiping the sword in a similar fashion to his empty handed swing.

"I knew she was itching for adventure, but she's practically sweating excitement over there", Nephenee chuckled before following Melvin's lead downstairs.
