Bad Job, Worse Uniform is also related.
I think we may want a 3-way wick check, to see how many examples would fit on more than one page.
I don't see the difference between Embarrassing Animal Suit and Goofy Suit- both seem to involve being forced to wear a mascot costume for any reason. Bad Job, Worse Uniform is related, but definitely not the same- it's about having to wear an embarrassing outfit as part of a job, and the outfit doesn't have to be a mascot costume- it could be a stupid hat, an overly sexy outfit, etc.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"I suppose it is the way the work and the person treats the thing.
The Embarrassing one would also cover Embarrassing Animal Pajamas [1]◊ and other non-completely covering outfits [2]◊ but not the Goofy Suit.
Potentially they can just be made a trope on their own while folding the rest into Goofy Suit.
EDIT: Also Goofy Suit specifically describes it as a Job which is not always the case when wearing the big suits.

If Goofy Suit is indeed a subtrope of Bad Job, Worse Uniform, IP needs to find a better image for Bad Job, Worse Uniform that does not overlap with the idea of Goofy Suit.

- Work-related and non-animal suits = Goofy Suit
- Non-work-related, animal suits = Embarrassing Animal Suit
- Problematic are:
- Work-related animals suits (fit both tropes)
- Non-work-related, non-animal suits (fit neither trope)
Just make all of the above one trope.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Getting a job having to wear a goofy suit and suffering is a common Teen Comedy trope, implies a lot more than just wearing one.
Can you name any examples? Just asking.
Just "animal suits exist" is PSOC. The "embarrassing" aspect is required. I still think the tropes should be merged, but I'll gladly take opposing arguments.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanJust watched Paddington 2, and it has Hugh Grant's character in a dog suit for a dog food commercial. The trope is currently listed on the work page under Bad Job, Worse Uniform but it fits Goofy Suit and Embarrassing Animal Suit as well. I think we should reduce the amount of tropes. Something like Embarrassing Costume regardless of job-related or not or animal/mascot or else. The point is that they are forced into it and it's degrading.

Merging the tropes would be the right move, I guess.
However, while Embarrassing Animal Suit doesn't have that many wicks, Goofy Suit's are over a hundred.
So, rather that give it a new name, it would be a bit less of an hassle to merge the whole into Goofy Suit. Thoughts?

You mean EAS and GS or also BJWU?
No, Bad Job, Worse Uniform seems to be distinct enough. It does admit overlap with Goofy Suit, but that's not uncommon for related tropes.
Maybe the Goofy Suit definition need to be expanded a bit to include non-job examples, but that's it.
Resetting clock.

It seems to me that Embarrassing Animal Suit and Goofy Suit have a lot of overlap.
Either the tropes need to be better differentiated, or they should be merged.
