It's original 151 and Alolan forms only, so real sized Wailord is more like real sized Waitlord

Yeah Wailord's gonna look great in the 2019 game I can actually get one in.
Stuff not in the trailer:
- Original 151 + Alola forms + a new mythical only
- Can't evolve your starter, but can catch others of it's species (and presumably evolve them)
- Breeding, megas, and z-moves don't appear to be in
- Conflicting messages about online, but it definitely doesn't interact with other mainline games and co-op is local only
- No differences beyond available species between versions
I'm excited for them. The lack of wild battles in favor of Go mechanics isn't the best but it looks better than the rumors made it sound. I got a Switch because I knew we were getting Pokemon games eventually and so far I am not disappointed.

Do you have a source for the no mainline interaction? Not only is that confusing but also comes into direct conflict with stuff like Bank. And after the first mistranslation im a bit more wary.
So looks pretty cool.
I'll have to take a.better look once I get home, but it's a definite buy for me.
It's a shame I have my switch with me right now, but no internet access, so I can't download pokemon quest until I get home.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobThey uploaded the whole press conference on Youtube.
Took this screenshot of the protagonist's art
The style is very Gen I Sugimori-esque save for the eyes.
Notable bits for LGPE:
- CP makes a return
- If you're not quick the mon can dodge balls thrown at it
- You can put mons that aren't your partner mon inside the Plus to carry around
- Says there could be "fun things" that could happen as you carry your mon around with you
- You can battle with Go mons in LGPE
- Says there's surprises with it they don't want to reveal yet
- You can bring the Alolan Exeggutor in Go over to LGPE
- The Poké Ball Plus can also be used as a Pokémon Go Plus while playing Go
- Masuda's goal is "to make a Pokémon RPG for everyone"
- Gen VIII game is being created alongside LGPE
- LGPE are ¥5980 individually and the Poké Ball Plus is ¥4980

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Food for thought
Go already has Generations 1-3 integrated. Why would they
A: Immediately assuage the core fanbase (and ostensibly their shareholders as well) by saying that a more traditional Pokemon game was coming and
B: only bring up the Alolan Exeggutor recently added to Go as a Pokemon one can bring over to these games if anything beyond the initial 151+ the Gen 8 preview were available? If it's to surprise us later that strikes me as a poorly informed strategy, though poorly informed is what this entire game looks like, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

So after having looked at the trailer and heard more about it: well, the whole "original 151 + one mysterious new pokemon only" is still the biggest dealbreaker for me (even if it's a remake of an old game, all other remakes so far let you catch newer gens!). The dressup mechanic for Pokémon is cute, at least (I'm assuming this only applies to the starters)... and I'm not really a fan of the Pokémon Go-style catching mechanic replacing battling. Not evolving your starter (especially Eevee, a Pokémon whose main "thing" is having lots of different evolutions) also seems questionable, even if it's like Yellow where you couldn't evolve your starter Pikachu... yeah, I'm gonna wait for the main-series Gen 8 game.
Also - Pokémon Go already has Gen 2 and 3 by now, even if some of this was to "appeal more to Go fans" that still doesn't seem like a reason to keep it Gen 1 only at this point (honestly, upon Go's release I always assumed they'd add in newer gens later... and I was right)

"Leftover items still have value!"Does anyone still have the original leak in hand? Because I am trying to remember what it was saying about the setting of the game and such.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I'm still mixed on this. I got really jaded by Gen VII, so the Alolan Forms being there kinda slaps me where it shouldn't. To me a true restart would be just ditching the Alolan Forms altogether and starting from scratch.
But I wouldn't think I'd give any hate into this. I'm waiting for what they have in reserve for Gen VIII. It might as well be either their Author's Saving Throw, or just make me go farther away from the franchise.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Okay, I found the original rumour, and it said that Red and Blue play a role in the story, and that you and your rival are new characters. This makes me wonder about if the story is somehow new or tweaked version of Yellow.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!x2
A lot of those Alolan forms were great though. I love Alolan Raichu.
So it has Go styled wild battles, where success is catching and fainting isn't even an option. Is there going to be some benefit to mass capturing? Or at least tools to keep box management from being a pain?
These are confirmed main series titles.
Whether that lessens or increases your anxiety is up to you.
So aside from all the stuff we know isn't in, my biggest alarm bell at the moment stems from content. Or the possible lack of it. FRLG had 386 Pokemon and the fairly meaty addition of the Sevii Islands. This has less than half the Pokemon, and I have no confidence in the Sevii Islands returning. So what's going to make up for that?
But you couldn't access any later Pokemon until you got the National Dex in the postgame. Not even evolutions.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.They were still in the game. Does anyone have confidence we'll be able to get the likes of Pichu and Umbreon in any sort of capacity here?
Guessing not.
I don't expect this to be very content rich either. The games have gotten less and less content over the years recently, not more, and the whole package looks pretty low effort.
As far as their being mainline games - what does that even mean beyond branding?
Just the original 150? Ugh.
I know to some that's an outright selling point, but it just bums me out/makes me irritated.
I have a message from another time...It doesn't mean anything if they call them mainline games. It doesn't play like a mainline game or seemingly interact with other mainline games. If anything, its a tech demo for what mainline games could do on the Switch with GO! mechanics thrown in.
I'll probably get it if only because the mythical pokemon is probably a Pokemon Rangers scenario where you get some way to send it to the core RPG.
151 + 1

Wha...? Of course the other evolutions and stuff will be there. It has to connect with Go remember?
I think people are overthinking the original only aspect. That probably means just to capture, not that they arent in the game entirely. Hoenn remakes didn't lock you out of the likes of Roserade, and HGSS didnt lock you out of Mamoswine either.
In other news: I got this from serebii:"When asking about EV training Pokémon, IGN reveals that the team wanted to simplify things with how you level up, raise & train your Pokémon, stating more details will come at a later date"
So they are going to make things less convoluted...I just had a conversation last night about how annoying complex the systems are to other fans of the series. Hoping we get outright direct control of how we train up our mons.
Even if transferring new Pokemon is an option, generally it takes months for bank integration to happen.
It's just as possible they won't have the new ones in the code for this for any number of reasons. We won't be seeing anything new short of their promotional monster until January at the earliest regardless, and with this being aimed squarely at the casual and younger crowds there probably won't be any sort of post game areas featuring newer Pokemon ala the Sevii Islands, either.

Now that these games are announced, do you think they will have a demo or more news ready by E3? some hands on stuff would do some good.
Its honestly interesting to see the reaction. The forums have been pretty negative (not just here) but Poketubers I follow all seem pretty estatic, even ones who hate Go. pretty heavy mix of emotions all around.
Well here it is! After all the rumors and stuff we have got it. A marriage of pokemon traditional mechanics and Pokemon Go mechanics all in one package. Based off of Pokemo Yellow, revisit (or visit, if its your first time) Kanto with your buddy Pikachu or Eevee as you explore the first 3D pokemon RPG in well over a decade.
Ther's a lot of mixed reactions to this. Many are overjoyed, many are snapping their fangs at it on sight. What do you guys think? Me, Im just ready to see Actual Sized Wailord again.
