Yeah. Rem and Ram have good design, not sure if I would say they have good fashion. Same goes for most characters in that show, I think. The designs are good, but the clothes work within said design, not because the clothes themselves are good.

Okay, remember "Resurrection of a Healer" thing that was discussed here awhile ago, about a guy who tortures and rapes girls, it was released and apparently succesful, and after seeing a clip from it, this makes me sad, because this shit isn't even a hentai and presents itself to be a legitimate work, and the fact that people go "Yeah, Go Rape Them!" makes me very depressed about the status of anime fandom.

I do wonder how these kind of stuff endorse the extremely toxic parts of anime fandom and cause the rise of "assholes edgelords".

Assholes always exist they just don't care to show off unless they have a rallying point.

Is the show really successful?

Like I hear the production values are crap and the story is basic as Hell. Jesus Christ will people eat anything up.

It caters to an audience that makes a point of wasting money to "own the libs". You could sell them an overripe banana for ten dollars if you stuck a sticker with a racial slur printed on it.

Companies have made money off of shock value stuff since time in memorial. It’s Troma Studios's reason for being, although one could argue for all its shock value, Troma heroes like the Toxic Avenger still have a rather strong moral center.

This series is shock for shock’s sake, and it will be remembered as just that. A one trick pony.

I really wish I could ignore it, but I see ads for it on every website I go to. It's very annoying. And apparently my non-weeb friends are too, because I've been asked multiple times what it is, and explaining it is gross.

I gave Rezero a shot and, despite liking the ED song, I hate Subaru. I hate him so much. And Rem and Rom too. And the cat thing.

It's hilarious when Kamina strikes a "to the sky" pose because he's a caped jackass who neanderthal'd his way into discovering that Giant Robots are powered by machismo. When Subaru does it he's being a twat. Which only slightly sets him apart from everybody else who largely spend their time being dicks to him for no genuine reason beyond him being new.

I fully expect that I'm going to really sympathize with Subaru when his Save Scumming PTSD really kicks in but right now I'm looking up the ED, saw Mother's Basement's video from a while ago, and I'm eager to learn why he had such a glowing take on this show.

I find Subaru kind of annoying at points but it feels like that's to a large extent an Audience Intended Reaction.

I enjoyed the show from the start (although not enough to watch past s1) and I'd say it's probably one of the only isekai shows that actually tries to be a decent story with proper themes, worldbuilding, and characterization but I also never agreed with Geoff's glowing take of it. It's pretty decent, but masterpiece level certainly not IMO.

He's saying that as of Season 2 especially, at the very least. I assume you're wating till its finished before watching.

Mushoku Tensei has even better world building, but its protag is even more reprehensible from the start, though that makes their eventual ascension to having a better life all the more worth it, and the authors of Re Zero, Mushoku Tensei, And Knosuba are all great friends

I can safely say that I feel like less of a person for knowing that Redo of Healer exists. It's been a while since an anime has made me feel like that.

I'd much rather drag Ex-Arm for its gloriously horrid animation. I'll echo a comment that expressed pity for the source material for being associated with the anime.

Yeah same. I think the bit gag about manga being just a GITS ripoff was on the unfair side - by the looks of it, the manga is just doing the same genre of cyberpunk. It may or may not be good, but judging it by what is seen through the lens of the anime is not valid.
