The Wano Arc begins at episode 892.

So if ya wanna get to the good stuff then you have to trudge through literally over 800 episodes worth of crap.

I'd just watch the segment when Luffy and Usopp fight.

Other than that, I can't say reading rather than watching One Piece to be anything other than a improvement.

Let me put it another way.

The end of Luffy vs Katakuri was an episode devoted completely to the fight filled with some of the most beautiful animation I've seen. It was a phenomenal nonstop brawl of epic proportions.

........ The was the climactic final episode of the fight, episode 870. The fight, where Luffy & Katakuri met on the battleground started on episode 851. Before you can get to the part of the fight with the amazing animation you first have to slog through 19 episodes of dragged out plotlines all happening concurrently at the same time as the battle has to share screen-time with 3 other subplots.

And whenever we get even the barest focus to the fight, barely anything happens. Its just Luffy getting ass kicked by Katakuri & then getting back up increasingly injured. Sure stuff does happen but it happens at a slugs pace because the fight had to be dragged to 19 episodes.

Some of the fillers like the G8 arc are actually pretty good… I'd even say they're the only part of the anime remotely worth watching (with a select few fight episodes like the Gear 2 reveal in the CP9 arc).

The anime has good moments, and it isn't terrible with filler, but overall I'd say stick to the Manga.

There are moments, though, as I said. Like...

Sorry, that's absolute unmitigated nonsense. I personally am not a fan of the pacing and animation just before and just after the timeskip - so, Shabondy/Marinford on to Mermaid Island and Dresrossa (maybe Whole Cake), but everything up to Thriller Bark is at worst fine and in many places fantastic. Remember to have your list of skippable fillers (and those fillers are much better than most fillers anime come up with, many are outright good)and I'd have no problem recommending the anime to people up to that point.

Okay correction then.

Everything up to the time-skip is at least generally watchable. After that, you are in slog territory.

That's also when the Art-Shift happens & you find yourself wondering "Does this show's art look bad now or is it just me?"

The moment it really hit me was when the Strawhats unleashed their finishing moves one after the other against Hody Jones's lieutenants - in the manga it's a chapter full of page-burstingly awesome OKO's, in the anime it was ...just really underwhelming.

And then there's that one bit in Punk Hazard where Zoro tells Luffy not to lose again when he goes up for his rematch against Caesar Clown, which is maybe two panels and as many lines of dialogue in the manga and they stretch it out for an indeterminate amount of time with a slow walk and dramatic music and Zoro calling Luffy's name out several times.

It just made me go: "oh no, don't flub this anime halfway through FFS"

Holy cow, the dude who wrote Scrapped Princess did this show?

I never did finish Outbreak Company, but I did find it passingly enjoyable. In this modern age where Isekai main characters can and will be totally okay with buying slave girls to fill the harem quota, the fact that this dude was bothered by the fact the half elf chick is a second class citizen and stand up for at least the ideal of equality is oddly refreshing.

Outbreak Company is better than it looks on the surface. being quite good as its own story even if you strip away the trappings of lower brow entertainment.

This week, a breakdown of the second Deku vs Kacchan fight in MHA.

Lots of good points there… The only complaint I'd have about this fight is that it ended up having little impact over the rest of the story, since we barely see Deku and Katsuki interact after that.

That he did. tongue

The video's subject might be a little outdated, but honestly I don't mind having videos that aren't about what's currently trending (although Danmachi had a season 2 recently). And seeing Geoff bring up positive aspects of SAO is rare enough to be noted.

His explanation of the gunhead detective anime has sold the show for me.

Talking about Netflix Jail, Beastars is really good and should be on any and every list.

Maybe he's not into beastiality.

That said, Gunhead is the kind of show that really shouldn't work, and even if it fizzles out at the end, just the fact that they made something functional out of it is already enough reason to check it out.

Yes, Beastars is a miracle, and that the anime works (so far) is even more of a miracle considering how difficult a work it is to adapt.

By the way, Youtube, could you stop filling my recommendation bar with alt-right videos when I'm watching Mother's Basement? Thank you very much.

I mean, Beastars isn't really bestiality...

You need a human and an animal for bestiality. Beastars is more akin to Furries.

Which is much better.

I saw a Quartering video in my feed recently, probably because I'd been looking for the Critical Role Wendy's video, (it was a video whining about that episode being "cancelled"). Deleted that shit straight out.
