It's not the fact he creates a boat out of webbing, that's crazy, but that's your run-of-the-mill crazy. It's the fact that he also creates a functioning propeller and motor out of webbing.

[up] Wait, did you just spoil the scene which I deliberately DIDN'T look up because I didn't want to know?

Well, thank you very much for that one….

Cindy Moon aka Silk can go as far as making a new set of clothes out of her webbing.

[up][up][up] Creating clothing out of spider silk is a lot more plausible than creating a sword or a functioning motorboat out of it. It has comparable properties to very fine thread.

What makes it slightly implausible is that instead of careful weaving she just sprays herself with silk from her fingers like silly string and it makes an outfit

Maybe she borrowed super weaving from Superman

Veering away from perilous Far From Home spoilers that should not be openly discussed here,

If you think he would have killed Valkyrie (strong black female LGBT character) then you are either sorely mistaken or only considering "black LGBT" part of her character.

...Yes, that was a joke about how Joss has killed off black and LGBT characters, but to be real: he wouldn't have killed her off. He would have introduced a side character that was funny and hilarious and whom everyone loved and then killed them off in a sudden and disturbing manner.

Yes, that's right: he would have killed Korg.

Oh my god, you're right. Korg is the perfect Whedon-fodder character. He's not super-important to the plot but he is beloved by everyone. That's just the right kind of character for Whedon to kill.

Meanwhile Natasha, Tony, and Steve would probably still be with us, barring direct requests from their actors to kill off their characters. Joss prefers And the Adventure Continues over the kind of finality Endgame gave us. The plot is over, the bad guy is slain, and our surviving heroes minus one lovable support post march triumphantly on to their next journey.

Oh, and we'd get a bunch of credibility-straining sequel comics continuing the characters' stories after the actors leave, but in a way that is tonally impossible to connect with the films. Like, Tony Stark becomes pregnant with an alien baby, Korg becomes the Messenger of Death, and Natasha's elected President. Or whatever.

Mind you, given the context of the franchise, these MCU comics would not be significantly more ridiculous than standard Marvel fare and so the negative reception would likely be muted.

Natasha's elected President
The only problem here is that Natasha wasn't born in America, she was born in...Russia.

...

Which means she would totally become President! All hail President Romanoff!

Her VP would ensure it.

  • Steve: Wait, I'm literally Captain America. Why am I only Vice President?
  • Nat: You're not very popular with our most important demographic.
  • Steve: What, the elderly? The military? Because I'm both of those things!
  • Nat: Putin.

You know, it is kind of too bad that they didn't use the fact that there are multiple characters who are connected to the Infinity stones one way or another.

I mean, we have Carol, who gets her power from the space stone, Wanda, who gets it from the mind stone (and Vision, but then, he more IS the mind stone) and Doctor Strange who can use the Time stone. Now, if they had been smarter back in phase 2, they could have given Jane power from carrying the reality stone and made more out of Quill holding the Power stone.

Carol and Wanda are very different sorts of connection to the stones than Stephen “I read the manual” Strange or Peter “I didn’t quite die” Lord

I’m personally pulling for an Infinity Watch type loose group of characters imbued like Carol and Wanda were

Maybe that’s how Kang

And also people for Power, Reality, and Soul

And also people for Power, Reality, and Soul

Reality and Soul could be the Jane Foster Thor and Gamora Prime, respectively.

Power is hard. Maybe Groot? If we use that one idea where New Groot's birth is the result of Groot Classic's twigs in Rocket's hand being empowered by the Power Gem.

When everyone was sharing the Power Gem, Rocket had some twigs in his claw. There was this idea floating around at some point that this is what caused the twigs to grow into the new Groot, which would mean New Groot was literally created by the energy from the Power Gem.

So we could use them for the Infinity Watch. And then Carol for her relationship with the Space Gem, Wanda for the Mind Gem, and Dr. Strange for the Time Gem.

I would watch that movie. Also since 4/6 of the proposed characters are women, it would help Marvel significantly with its representation problems.

Was watching Doctor Strange again, and I noticed something interesting. The Time Stone doesn't hurt Strange or the Ancient One when they put on the Eye, but every time one of the stones is inserted into the Gauntlet, it hurt the wielder, even if a little bit. So I got to thinking: maybe the Gauntlet is intentionally built to do that? Consider that the original Gauntlet was forcibly built by the dwarves of Nidavellir, who pretty much knew they were about to die at his hands, so they had all the reason in the universe to add a way to hurt him with the Gauntlet. And Stark's gauntlet was made by a normal human under a relatively small amount of time, so obviously it would not be able to contain the power of the stones properly.

Does that make sense to anyone else, or am I talking crazy stuff?

Thanos had a much stronger reaction to both the space stone and the mind stone being inserted, so I'd imagine it's probably more about the stones reacting to the proximity of each other than the innate danger the stones have individually. We don't actually see the power, reality and soul stones being inserted, and I'd imagine since power and reality are dangerous for individuals to hold similar to the space stone they would have similarly strong reactions to being inserted.
