Ok. That's fine.
"We be we baby!"I was going to make a joke attacking you with comedic overexaggerated hyperbole for daring to have an unpopular opinion but honestly 's avatar made that joke better than any words from me could have.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I mean, they're not my favorite studio or anything. I'm not saying I'm a huge Minions fan. But I also don't think they're as terrible as everyone says.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?For me it's less about them being the worst studio ever or anything and more that none of their films have really been anything truly good. At best, they're ok (like the first Despicable Me), at worst they're insipid and obnoxious like the Lorax. There's no real thematic ambition to any of their films.
There's worse out there. Sony exists for god's sake. But they're dedicated to being so goddamn mediocre and annoying at the expense of any good writing, sympathetic characters, or even any semblance of effort outside of mass marketability that it's downright appalling to me. When you make a story, put in some goddamn effort. I used to just kind of tolerate them but god damn it, Blue Sky puts in more effort than Illumination.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? It's because their films don't warrant the extreme amount of praise and fortune they're getting. Would you really consider Minions to be the highest-grossing animated film of all time? ... well it is.

Let's not forget to add that their budgets are pretty damn cheep.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?x2 Honestly not surprise seeing how little kids love the shit out of the Minions. No seriously, my 6 year old brother and 5 year old sister love the shit out of the Minions, and basically have both Despicable Me movies and Minions to watch. Basically when it comes to Illumination they are basically all about marketing appeal rather than writing. If they can come up with designs of characters that appeal to kids and be entertaining for the next 90 or more minutes, then they got a winner of a film that will earn them a profit for future projects.
It, honestly makes them a valid/safe choice for the Mario movie compare to other movie studios. Mario for years have always been the cash cow series that Nintendo ALWAYS rely on and Nintendo want a Mario movie that is both marketable and profitable to avoid being a flop like the live action movie. So giving it to the studio who make it for cheap and almost always get a good reception in reviews and box office is a smart buisiness decision.
I'm honestly interested in this film. Even though I've only watched one film from Illumination, which was Despicable Me , I think that this movie could be good. I just hope it's nothing like the live action film from the 1990s that had nothing to do with the games whatsoever and I hope that this movie remains faithful to the games, but still add in some meat to the story that rarely shows up in the games.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I don't think anyone would let it be like the 1993 movie, thus saving several careers.
The only way it would be disaterou as the live action films is if there are constant rewrites in the middle of fil- er I mean animating the film.
Though to the defense of the live action film, it does retain the plot of the first game of Mario and Luigi rescuing the kidnapped Princess Toadstool from Bowser, the brothers being plumbers (which is actually focused in the movies unlike the games) and I do think the costumes for the Mario Bros is neat.
I think this movie should also be about Mario and Luigi having to rescue Peach from Bowser. That's the archetypal Mario story, and games like Paper Mario prove that it doesn't have to be boring.
Alternately, just adapt the Super Mario World manga. The one where the climax takes place on a giant wedding cake. I'd love to see that animated.

In all probability that's what it's going to be about, although the The Damsel in Distress trope is really old and lame, let Princess Peach be a badass for once, there were unofficial comics where that happened
New theme music also a boxThose were official actually.
Right the magazine 'N Intendo Power' was official but the comics weren't canon
New theme music also a boxThere's no need to let Peachy-chan be "bad", just let her have a personality...
Defined and decent like in the spinoffs...
But seriously, if anything she does isn't related to her magics, don't bother...

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I heard that a while ago, Seth Gordon (director of The King of Kong) wanted to do a film adaptation of Super Paper Mario and translate the game's gimmick of switching from 2D to 3D on the big screen. I think that would've been pretty damn cool, especially since Super Paper Mario has one of the best plots out of the Mario games.
Not canon doesnt equal not official.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.It kinda does since Peach never acts badass outside the comcis, she's a damsel in most games she's in(she had her own game where her power was I kid you not, crying!)

New theme music also a boxThere's no kinda about this. I know its not in contuinity or whatever, but what about comics published by Disney? Most of the stuff may not be canon or whatever but it has its own continuity and it was published officially by Nintendo. Also Peach does get to be playable in less horribly sexist contexts. But that doesnt have anything with my other argument so meh.

Sure when it's in one mario sports games ie.Golf,Mario cart, smash but in the main Mario games she a damsel
And yes I know it's officially published by Nintendo,so that means they sanctioned the comics, but for the most part she's totally different character,it's like how Mary Jane acts in the spidermen comics vs how she's acts in the Spiderman films
New theme music also a boxI know. That's exactly what I meant. I love that you treasure badass peach even if its not canon to you. Its awesome of you.
Also now that I think about it EVERY SINGLE GAME where she's not a damsel... is made by third party developers....God this is sad.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.3D World, Super Princess Peach, and Super Paper Mario aren't made by 3rd party companies...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Out of the three games listed only Super Princess Peach counts as it was developed by Tose, not Nintendo themselves

Hot take: I don't think there's a damn thing wrong with Illumination, Minions, or the minions in general.
