From the writer of Eyeshield 21 and the artist of Sunken Rock comes a new science fiction adventure series in Shonen Jump.

Pretty interesting premise so far from the first chapter released.

It's… pretty interesting indeed. I wonder if the authors will have the guts to stick to a Minimalist Cast… Though that would be a problem, as I don't really like either of the characters, so far. :x I guess I can stand the Insufferable Genius a bit more, but the "big guy with a big heart" motivated by his manly feelings for his girlfriend… just ugh.

So I'm pretty intrigued by the premise, but I'm not yet quite sure I'm gonna like it.

edit: Although I do give it a point for the Trump cameo. [lol]

My first impression was that it was a bara manga.

You had my attention, but of course I know it wasn't going to be the case.

Then the protagonist say he and his friend will be like Adam and Eve of this new world.

You have my interest now.

Joking, joking... that said, the manga seems interesting.

That was a great first chapter. The art is marvelous.

I made a mistake: I thought the writer was Yusuke Murata. Because I read "Eyeshield 21" and instantly thought "Murata".

Just now i'm learning Eyeshield 21 had a writer, and it was not a solo project. Is like thinking One Punch Man was created by Murata and not One.

I regret everything. u_u I'm awful.

Chap 2 is out… A bit better than the first one. surprised I'm starting to like their dynamic, though I didn't think they'd find the "cure" so quickly.

Yeah, the pacing this chapter is really fast.

By the way, I'm no biologist, but wouldn't those mushrooms have some kind of evolution in the ~3700 years they're being stone?

[up] Yes, yes they would. You could make the argument they didn't evolve that much.

4000 years is a pretty short in this context; it's been 2 million years since humans evolved, and we're a relatively young species. It's hard to say for certain how notable evolutionary shifts over 4000 years would be- after all, the only way to get really good data on that would be to carefully monitor evolution for 4000 years- but it's entirely plausible that various kinds of fungus that've existed for millions of years already could go another 4000 without significant changes.

Evolution generally doesn't fix what ain't broken.

Although now my brain is going off a tangent based around that petrified bird- we saw that dogs didn't get petrified, so not all animals were affected, but the bird proves it wasn't just humans either- and the broader the range of affected species, the more significant the changes to the ecosystem in response would be, and the more potential there is for significant evolutionary shifts, even given the short timeframe. But I still wouldn't expect any particularly dramatic changes to have happened that quickly.

It might just have been one small subspecies of bird. I got the impression that the birds were stoned as a test run for using the power on humans from the fact that they started turning up the morning before.

Yeah, didn't think they'd find a cure already. I guess they do need some extra manpower though.

Nice chap. Though the cast is a bit too masculine so far.

That might be for the best; the female designs are horrid.

Hmm...for some reason I'm not quite feeling this manga. It's like the author's trying too hard to be a shounen manga? The concept's interesting but the characters are too...intense?

Science guy doesn't seem to understand that if this is an Adam and Eve Plot, then he's the serpent.

Jewish tradition says that Adam was created on Rosh Hashannah, in early autumn, just like this setting.

Good thing the protagonist was concerned about his crush's modesty, else they would have all been killed by the lions.

Same here… The plot definitely has potential, but I still have a hard time really connecting with the characters.

@Tomodachi: I wouldn't call him a "social darwinist", rather the opposite. He claims that he wants to protect the weak and get rid of the oppressors and corrupted, and the current situation gives him the perfect opportunity for that.

The most likely outcome is that once they've resurrected enough people, he's gonna become a tyrant or faction leader of some sort with Well-Intentioned Extremist vibes.

New chapter out.

They don't run away, but Tsukasa doesn't kill any of them. He's still going to kill people though, so in order to stop him, Dr. Stone is planning to create a gun.

Yuzuriha somehow looks better than she did in the pilot. And apparently she's the same brand of idiot as Senkuu. Hahaha.

Hmm, yeah, I doubt a gun is gonna be of any use against Tsukasa, but sure, try. evil grin

There's still something in this series that doesn't click with me but I can't pinpoint what exactly…
