What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Hey, how about a, say, skype group for the players? I think it'd do wonders for communication purposes
I don't use Skype for personal reasons.
Where there's life, there's hope.I've got multiple reasons not to.
- Too lazy to get skype (or equivalent).
- Don't like the idea of voice chat for strategizing in turn-based stuff; too liable to forget what we just talked about.
- My computer's crashy right now, so I might randomly drop out and miss something important.
I'd suggest Google Chat, or even the document's own chatbox (if you're okay with logging in). If you really want to preserve privacy, use a pseudonymous account.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Discord?
I haven't used it before, but it seems promising. Roll20 similar.
No, I wasn't passing up that chance to pun. I regret nothing.

Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.I'd rather not use skype either.
Skype has a messaging feature, it's not just voice chat.
But yeah, I vote Discord if we decide to do the group thing.
"Why does everything have to loop back to YGO?" -Guy who ruined YGOAnyone familiar enough with it to set up a server? I'd try, but I've never used it before.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Name: Michel Babylas (real surname Babileaux).
Age: 20.
Gender: Male.
Appearance: Michel is a very small, wiry young man, weighing in at about 5' 6" and just nearing the edge of underweight at 120 pounds. His hair is a light brown, and is usually tied back in a ponytail. He prefers to wear clothing that allows him a great range of movement, and is usually seen dressed in a slightly baggy tunic in muted colors. Oftentimes he is also seen wearing a set of leather armor over the tunic. One would be forgiven for thinking of Michel as a girl at first glance, but his impressively deep voice will remove that notion very quickly.
Personality: Michel is, first and foremost, a genius. Or at least, that's what he thinks, and what he wants everyone to know. He will often find a way to sneak in the subject of his smarts somehow when talking, and doesn't take kindly to people disparaging his mental acumen. However, underneath the intellectual bluster, Michel is a genuinely good person. He enjoys using his "prodigious mental power" to help others whenever he can, and is fiercely protective of those that he considers a friend, though said friends are sometimes hard to come by; Michel's constant posturing can be abrasive at times, much to his chagrin and sadness.
It's also important to note that beneath Michel's bragging about how smart he is, the young man is actually rather gifted, and has spent most of his childhood studying one thing or another, including archery. Underestimate him at your own risk.
Background: Michel is (or was, rather) a member of the House of Babileaux, of Craelach. The Babileaux were a minor noble house, but Michel's father, Alphonse, had aspirations of grandeur, and plotted to eventually establish Craelach as a monarchy, headed by himself. All of Michel's 5 siblings were seen by Alphonse as truly gifted and wonderful, while Michel, the youngest, was the black sheep, due to his seeming ordinariness. During his childhood, Michel was often alternately pushed around, belittled, and ignored by all of his siblings and his father. Determined to show them all that he was worthy of the Babileaux name, Michel studied anything and everything he could get his hands on, late into the night, every night. One night, he found an archery instruction manual, and decided to give it a read. That book ended up changing his life.
Enamored with the idea of being able to shoot a bow, Michel stole one, as well as a quiver full of arrows, from his father's armory, and began practicing every night on a range he cobbled together himself, after everyone else had gone to bed. Over the weeks and months, Michel's aim improved, and eventually he was able to hit the bullseye on a target from fifty paces on the regular.
Elated, one day he called his father and his siblings down to the makeshift archery range Michel had created, and demonstrated his prowess with the bow.
Michel hit the dead center of every target he had set up. Breathing heavily, he turned back to find his father and siblings, only to see them returning to the castle, ignoring him. Again.
Michel ran away that night to join up with one of the bandit groups that were plaguing his father's lands, packing only some clothes, his trusty bow and arrows, and some food. Eventually, he was taken in by Borgos and his men, and served with them as an archer. At least, until he was captured by Sir Tigra.

Where there's life, there's hope.I've kinda been thinking... Would it be okay for latecomers to scale their characters to the party? I mean, we don't want anyone feeling useless, right?
Of course, at this point it's only a difference of 1 level, but best to consider these things early before enemies reach the point that level 1 units are useless.
I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me.Latecomers will start above level 1. Right now I'm thinking 1 level behind the rest of the party.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers. That's a bit lopsided, don't you think? 1 level behind the team isn't bad but 5 level behind will give you Donnel/Amelia/Est/Mozu without good growth.

Where there's life, there's hope. How would anyone be 5 levels behind if they all start 1 level behind the party and everyone levels up simultaneously?

Where there's life, there's hope.All good.
Latecomers will also have the chance to catch up to the rest of the party during optional side missions that don't normally level the party up, but offer special rewards.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Double post, but sign ups are now open again for one more player.

- Age:753
- Gender:Female
- Appearance:Human.◊ Dragon.◊
- Personality: While not exactly a social butterfly she's not terribly opposed to other people. Infact she's very curious about humans. Her long life, rather than making her personality grizzled has shown her how drastically things can change for humans over just a few Decades. To this end she likes to seek out human company as she finds them more interesting than her own people. Though at times her age can show in her stubbornness.
- Background:Recounting nearly 800 years of history might be impossible to do her so I'll tell you what's happened to her recently. After realizing just how interesting humans can be she decided to assume her human form traveling from one country to the next, seeing what changes humans brought next. Eventually she found herself in the Kingdom of Frael where she was adopted by a noblewoman who she could come to know as Mrs. Corvith. She fancied keeping Kiri around for her "cuteness", almost like a pet rather than a daughter. She went along with it, it was free food and they gave her pretty human clothes as well. She also got an up close look at human politics. For the few years she spent there, she was content until bandits began attacking. She figured she might as well get off her ass and help, disappearing from Mrs. Corvith's manor and leaving a thank you note on her dresser.
