I feel like song won't be the same without Jeremy Irons and Jim Cummings.
I don't feel it would be the same with photorealistic animals either. I mean, after all it wasn't the song only what made that scene special, but also the visual, which I doubt they would be able to replicate.

New character posters with the actors[1]
Well that's rife for parody material.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, that seems like a fun meme to exploit.
It's been 3000 years…So pretty much what they did with the Jungle Book advertisements. Why is James Earl Jones not present?
Hawkeye: ”Don’t give me hope.”
The comedy failed cause those animals can't emote for shit.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieMaybe I'm just getting way too caught up in the whole backlash this film is receiving, but I too am kinda wondering what happened between Jungle Book and this movie that the character animation seems so lifeless now (at least compared to the original movie anyway). Was another studio brought in to do the effects? Or was there a significant difference in the production crew?
I highly enjoyed (dare I even say, loved) the Jungle Book remake and I'm hoping for Favreau to pull through but I'm not going to lie, it really strikes a bum note for me on how this film (or at least, it's marketing anyway) is shaping up. Really hoping that they can invoke a Pixar/Toy Story 4 and that for all of the critique that's been thrown at it, the actual film turns out to be very, very good.

has a clue, but it's usually not the correct one 0.55% of the timeI've seen at least one critic on Twitter compare this film to the Shot-for-Shot Remake of Psycho, so I'm a bit cautious about how this will turn out.

Scene of Hakuna Matata via Jimmy Kimmel show.
Oh... Oh boy. Oh no. Just... oh. Oh no.
And to worsen it someone posted under the clip pictures of a lion actually emoting distinct facial expressions.
Did the animators not study lions?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Disney really trademarked "Hakuna Matata" for this, huh?
Seen that already. Everybody and their grandmas are bringing up Aslan, who is an older SFX creature that emoted significantly more.
Its weird, because the body language for the most part is sharp, and it looks beautiful, but the the little details just don't come across a lot of the time.

Yeah, the animation and imagery has so much craft and care put into it... but it is not edited or directed like a musical. It looks like wildlife documentary footage with music being played over it.
Exactly.
Like, even ignoring the discussion on CGI and Aslan, the more realistic you get, the less expression of emotion these animals were ever meant to, well, express. Especially compared to animation which has specific style rules on how to bend, squash, stretch, and break every rule of physics to get a greater beat of emotion and expression out of characters and movement.
They fundementally don't want to do that here. And, like, I get why as breaking a VERY realistic lion's face to emote in the way the original did is a bad idea... but that just means the concept is fundamentally flawed from the outset.
Given that Jon Favreau made a whole movie about resenting great success coming from repeating the same old formulas, I wonder how much this film he did to get a check for The Chef Show.
It because the body language, it try to compensation for the fact that these animals can't emote, but by doing so, it fall into the Uncanny Valley.
