When it comes time to drop personal arcs will the G Ms be running those or will the players be running their own stories?
I am leaving personal arcs up to the players.
More questions!
What's the general consensus regarding A.I.s? What's ARMOR's stance on A.I.s? Are sorties considered lessons, or are they more along the lines of exams? If they're the main way of learning, what do students do at the station proper? If they're just exams, then how do students learn; simulations, livefire, theory classrooms only?
hmmm... not entirely sure what I would do for a personal arc for Zae
also, any idea when the rp may be starting?

Sign-up done.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEAgain, Stones, this thread is for Accepted players only. Phoenix hasn't given the verdict on your sheet yet.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015Lokes arc is probably going to be a mostly personal thing...ish.
Good to be back@Mistfader: A.I.s, as in the fully sentient ones, are just as welcome in ARMOR as any other people.
Sorties are both lessons and exams, but far from the main way. ARMOR's curriculum is a mix of both studied theory and achieving combat experience. And ARMOR does have simulators for training.
Hmm, interesting. So are students monitored remotely for grading purposes, or are they sent with their teachers?
Thanks for all these answers. Asking questions is fun, and I hope answering them is fun too!
The students are monitored by the support staff aboard the carrier ships, who then draw up a report on their performance.

Lmao how are these guys not dead yet?
@AI worldbuilding, is there any regulation on them? Limited mental development, lifespans a la Blade Runner, Three Laws-Compliant testing? Ser Masterful is technically not under that jurisdiction but it might still be fun to play off it.
Depends on the AI in question. You've got fully sentient ones, who are basically exactly like normal people, you've got the more limited ones that are normally limited in mental capacity, and finally the ones that can pilot mecha, but only follow orders.
Relatedly does *Mass Effect*-esque fear of AI exist? I mean, I wanted to give Ortis a hint or two of it, but I don't want to if that'd make him a conspiracy nut. xP
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.Some people do fear AI simply because they are capable of entering and controlling tech, yes. But mostly, A.I.s are people like any other and are integrated into society.
On a related note, how does this world handle pilot... or any person really starting to have feelings for an AI? I presume if you have fully sentient ones this will be the case from time to time.
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"I imagine there is some fear of AI going Red VS Blue andbrainwashing their pilots.
Good to be back5Are those mutually exclusive? Like, in Human jurisdictions, are sentient AI not allowed to pilot a mecha or something, or is the phrasing on that sentence not something I'm supposed to read into that far?
What i interpret in that is that there are AI's which are capable of piloting a Mech skillwise... but other than that have no sentience and AI's that are fully sentient which can pilot mechs... become cooks... whatever a normal human could do.
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"When's the ETA on the start of the RP just to ask?
Hiyo.
Been waitin' for a good Mecha RP for a while.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEBecause I like adding more questions to the pile, have another two!
Do ARMOR students get information sheets or somesuch on each other, or at least the mecha of others? Are there tournament-style shenanigans going on which encourage growth via mecha duels, or are those considered too dangerous?
I don't think there shuld be info-you know? Team building exercises, sure.
Perhaps pilot v pilot sparring instead of mech vs mech?
Good to be backPilot and Mech combat are two completely different beasts, so I'd imagine both would be trained individually. I guess that making you share specs would be a bit too intense for most prospective students, though, so them not doing so makes sense.
The Gladius and Captain look awesome Pheonix!
