Day 11, Random Pier — Does she like collecting trash?

Yoshika still didn't see what the big deal was with having a paper on her face. At least she let him go after a second or two of not doing anything.

"You have a paper stuck in your face! And you didn't even notice it until now. Why do you want to keep it?"

Day 12, Random Building — There's no help coming

And the day had ended. That meant a new crazy condition to spice things up. What was it going to be today? Lava Day? Flesh-Eating Swarm Day? Killer Robot Day? Fake Mustache Day? Rex looked out the window to find out.

He saw the night sky. Well, technically, anyway. There were a lot of stars and planets. And even a blonde guy in a really small planet that waved them back. And, of course, the library sat upon a giant book, just in case Tairee's boss hadn't made his intentions clear enough. It was official. They were in fucking outer space. Lovely.

At least Yoshika seemed to like it.

"No, this is the opposite of that. This guy wants to get us all killed"

Library

Miss Tairee was silent for a few moments, then sighed. "Very well. Come over here" Miss Tairee said, getting up from her chair and neatly vaulting over her desk to a relatively empty portion of the room. She flicked her wrist to make her bracelet bring up the holographic screen, and typed on it while waiting for Sans to come over to her.

Once he had, she pressed the enter key, and there was a blur as a transparent bubble appeared around them. She typed a bit more, and it turned completely opaque, casting Sans and Miss Tairee into darkness aside from the glow of her screen hologram. Then with another blur, the bubble vanished.

Asriel Dreemurr
Somewhere...IN SPAAAAAAACE

Asriel shook his head from his stupor. Thank goodness she was a nice human and she wasn't afraid of him. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

"Howdy to you too," he said. "Eh heh, it's okay. I was just surprised was all."

And then she asked him where this place was. He blinked and looked around again, remembering his predicament. Well, at least he wasn't the only one. He looked back at the girl and said,

"I'm sorry, but I don't know either. I was just tending to some flowers before...I got here somehow."

He was about to ponder on this, but his surprise and attention was quickly shifted as more humans came. And apparently, they thought the girl beside him was someone called "Roll". He blinked. He knew not all humans were bad, but seeing as he, well, died before because of them, it was still a little new to see more than one human not screaming in terror. He was returned to reality when one of the men asked him a question.

"Howdy. No, I'm not...whatever a satyr is," he said. He thought a bit about the next part. But it would be impolite to have them think he was something. Especially a demon...seeing as he might as well call his other self that. "I'm a boss monster."

He also remembered something else.

"Oh, and my name is Asriel Dreemurr. It's nice to meet you," he said with a smile.

"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.

Eve|A Swiftly Tilting Planet

Eve had fallen asleep in front of the fire, and was curled up catlike when Ben's expression of surprise woke her. Still somewhat asleep, she looked around to see what was wrong, looking (and being) very confused when she saw nothing obvious.

"What?"

This passed when she stood up herself, as the amount of force she would usually use to stand up instead propelled her some way into the air. Lower gravity than normal. Probably a new feature of the City.

Lucas woke up because he fell off the couch he was sleeping on. While the impact with the ground didn't hurt at all, it still was an adequate wake-up call.

As Lucas started fixing the cushions on the couch that he might have kicked out of place in his sleep, his mind finally woke from that state of sluggishness that comes with having just been suddenly awakened. He started processing the differences in the library thar he had missed. While the changes to the library were interesting, Lucas noticed something far more impressive through a window. Lucas walked over to the window and gazed at what had once been an endless ocean, eyes wide as he tried to take in everything. He would probably be gazing outside for a fair while.

Boardwalk restaurant

Garrett waited with the phone by his ear, but Sans wasn't responding. Slowly, the thief put the phone back, scowling. This was quite worrying. What if Sans had lost the phone due to having been killed by the monster?

After helping himself to some food he nabbed in the restaurant's kitchen, Garrett decided to take a brief nap, hoping that the other patrons will wake him up if anything threatening turns up on the horizon. Choosing an out-of-the-way corner, Garrett moved a chair there, sat down and tried to sleep as well as he could...

Dream

Turns out, there was no reason to worry about the Leviathan at all. It had gotten tired of all the destruction and killing, and now it casually swam into the restaurant for a quick snack; right now the Leviathan was arguing with the waiter, because there were no seatings big enough for it.

Garrett knew that the beast would just resume killing when it's finished eating, though. There was only one chance: he had to steal its claws and beam weapon. Unfortunately, he was so tired and just didn't feel like standing up at all...

DAY 12

Not-a-boardwalk-anymore restaurant

The sensation of the transition jostled Garrett out of sleep. He got up from the chair — and, with a cry of surprise, floated up to the ceiling. A woman, laughing in elation, slowly somersaulted past him through the air. She brushed against him, which was enough to send Garrett to land heavily upon the tables, all the way on the other side of the restaurant.

A group of patrons were gathered at the windows and stared at the vista outside, in stunned silence or exclaiming in awe. Garrett, careful not to leap into the air again, approached the crowd and his eyes went wide at what he saw.

The sky beyond the window was a black vastness, an infinity with Garrett at the center. A quarter of the sky was occupied by a globe of fire, which Garrett realized was a sun. The restaurant now rested upon the surface of a huge sphere with a curved horizon mere meters away. Across the surface a shadow crawled, leisurely, yet fast enough for its movement to be clearly visible — even as the sun glided serenely across the black heavens. And there were other globes scattered here and there in the sky. They were so far and yet, as if close by. Garrett felt almost like he could reach out with a hand, and feel upon it the wind that blowed across one of these fellow spheres.

Garrett recalled the planetarium he'd once seen at the Keeper compound, and the charts and diagrams of the celestial bodies; and he recognized them in what he saw here.

"It looks like we're in a tiny version of the celestial sphere," he said. "If I step outside, I wonder if I'll see connecting rods between the star and the planets."

Already there was one brave restaurant patron who had left the building and was frolicking outside; the individual in question was wearing a glass helmet upon their head, not unlike a diver's, and an odd sort of suit over their body. Garrett headed to the exit, only to find out it led to an airlock. "It's like I'm in the Mechanists' underwater base again... for the second time in this city," he mused. Experimentally, he put on one of the provided helmets, and much to his surprise a similar form-fitting suit grew to cover his body. It was strangely comfortable in spite of being so tight. A device of some kind formed upon Garrett's wrist, and glowing letters could be seen on its screen: 59:58 AIR LEFT. The second number decreased with every passing second.

Garrett went through the external door, and stepped out carefully onto the planet's surface. This was indeed a tiny world; Garrett needed just two minutes or so to walk all the way around the planet.

On his way, he saw in the sky a celestial body that was curiously flat and square. Even before he zoomed in, he knew what he'd see: a giant, closed book. Upon this titanic tome stood the unmistakable shape of the library.

X smiled and bowed a bit, "Thank you Miss Tairee," he said. Though with that he turned around and marched off.

looking around as he approached the entrance to the Library and the city's new vast expanse, only one thought came to mind, "We must explore and scavenge this place for items of use while we still can".

X needed to form a team for this, and slowly went around, one by one as people awoke, informing them of his plan.

Ben glanced back at Eve, who he seemed to have woken. "Check this out, Eve," he told her, gesturing to one of the windows, his eyes widened in awe at what he was looking at. A brilliant starfield, with planetoids floating around them, each with a couple small buildings on them.

"This must be the new day theme," he muttered to her. "There's gotta be some way to reach the Library from here." He looked around until he came across the spacesuits, which to Ben only resembed fishbowls. He pulled out a couple, which seemed to replenish themselves in the rack. He looked at it, baffled, and handing one to Eve. "Well, here's yours, I guess."

DAY 12 - Would be fitting if Jade was here

Building

John woke up. He didn't know when he fell asleep. After he got to the building, the exhaustion from propelling Ben was gigantic, and plowed over him. It certainly was convenient, because John hadn't slept a wink ever since he got here.

What he saw after he roused from sleep was Eve, Ben, and what seemed to be stars outside. Was he in space? It was mentioned that the city's structure changed irregularly, so perhaps the city had changed and morphed itself into space. Jade would have liked this place. She was the Witch of Space, after all.

He turned to Ben. "hey, ben," John said, "where are we? did we beat the stone thing? and what do we do now?"

Yoshika, No Longer On A Pier, Woah
"What? How is he gonna kill us if we just keep coming back?" Yoshika asked as she turned to him, incredulous. Rex seemed like a fountain of not-make-sense-ocity right now, and she wondered if staying around him would be wise. She might just start making no sense herself!

"It's still pretty. Just because it can hurt you doesn't mean it isn't." Indeed, it was quite the sight. Though, it presented a problem: Yoshika knew absolutely nothing about space! Sure, she'd seen pictures of it a few times, but Seiga never taught her anything about it...aside from some stuff on the moon.

Where the rabbits lived.

She didn't see any rabbits from here, so it must not be the moon they were on. Still, it just never came up as something Yoshika needed to know or wanted to know, so she was clueless. "Waaaaiiiit, how is Space gonna kill us?"

Ben shrugged a little, getting to his feet when John asked him his questions. He answered all of them with a resounding "I dunno, John. But whatever's going on here, we should try and get back to the library. Somehow." He handed John one of the fishbowls, and looked out at the space around the building. He couldn't see the Library, but he could see a big sun, which he couldn't look at without discomfort, so he had to look in a different direction.

"I say we go search for it. John, Eve, you with me?" he asked them.

Ara Haan (Library, Night of Ara's Third Day in the City) - Rest in Peaceful Sleep

More people, attracted by the sound of unconfirmed news, approached Ara and Jack in order to confirm whether or not the creature had been defeated. Doubt which was soon cleared by another woman, who stated that the beast had, in fact, been caught in a large explosion that ended its existence.

"Maybe next time..." Ara muttered under her own breath, before she turn back to address the rest of the group. "I should probably pick up the rest of my things and go to sleep. It's late, and I'm starting to get tired."

So with a small bow and a polite "please excuse me", the walked up the stairs back to the third floor, where she picked up the rest of her clothes and accessories. And after putting them back on, she descended back to the lobby, where she lied down on a couch not too far away from the one where Kelsey was still sleeping.

I took the small window of opportunity to make a small request, and after she granted me permission to do what I asked her for, she finally fell asleep, with her spear still held tightly in her hands.

The following day would no doubt be entertaining. For me, at least.

Balcony ~ Mistaken for Original

Unfortunately, the goat child was just as confused as she was as to how where he was. However, he also seemed to have been taken from somewhere else. The fact that there were no flower gardens anywhere in sight was enough proof of that. If he was taken in the exactly same way, then that'd be all the proof she needed to confirm that this was all actually happening.

"Before I found myself here, time seemed to stop and then everything faded to black," Call said, "Did this happen to you as well?"

Then there was some shouting from someone nearby. Call would have simply ignored it if it weren't for the fact that it was directed at herself. Apparently, the two men who saw her mistook her for someone named "Roll" and got rather excited. She knew no one by that name, but more importantly they also said something about "new arrivals." Furthermore, her newfound companion also described himself as a "boss monster," and also introduced himself as Asriel Dreemurr. That seemed to confirm that he wasn't a robot after all.

However, questioning Asriel could wait for later. Right now questioning the newcomers was more important.

"My name is Call," she replied, "Two questions: What do you mean by 'new arrivals?' And who is this 'Roll?'"

Random Building — Entering Zero Gravity

The jiang shi didn't see the problem with dying since everyone in the city came back good as new. Easy to say when you couldn't feel pain.

"I don't like dying, even if it isn't permament. It kinda hurts"

Yoshika wondered how space could kill them. Apparently, she had forgotten about the lack of air. It was almost like she had never heard of outer space. Right, she probably came from a medieval world. And it's not like not realizing that obvious fact was weird by her standard. She seemed to be an airhead.

"Well, for starters, you can't breath in space"

Rex's mind shifted gears and he started thinking about what he wanted to do after having talked with Cole. He needed to get to the library fast but he was already dreading having to deal with Tairee again.

"I have to go back to the library. There is something I need to fix"

Rex became aware of the lowered gravity when he tried to normally walk around the room. With some difficulty—product of having to bounce around to reach his destination—he looked everywhere in the room for something to withstand the lack of oxygen and pressure but only found a helmet and no suits of any kind. Odd.

Rex started thinking of what to do and put on the helmet to see if it would actually fit him. To his surprise, the rest of the suit grew over his body and a helpful timer informed him of how much air he had left.

"Here, put this on. We have an hour of air" he said, throwing a helmet at Yoshika. It didn't go in the way he expected and continued floating in a straight line until it bounced off the ceiling "I really hate this city"

And it was beautiful too. The sun shone, hitting the surrounding planets at fantastic angles. It would glint off the water on one, while highlighting the gas clouds on another. It was amazing. Viola I Library I Ignorance is Bliss

When I flew back to the library with Seiga, it was already late night in the City. Being utterly exhausted from the party I had just this morning, to the serious talk with the hermit and travelling around the tunnels, I unceremoniously sat onto one of those couches and rest in for the day.

Someone else knew about my little secret.
She knows, so I tried to 'befriend' her. She refuses.
But that's okay, because I've... made a new friend.
A friend who understood me, unlike everyone else.

Morning came again. I stirred up from my sleep, both glad and slightly annoyed that I'm getting used to sleeping on couches and waiting for whatever the Author's going to throw at us. When this is all over, this will probably be one of the persistent memories, due to how absurdly I found myself here. I may even miss some parts of these later on in my life.

Until then however, I'm content at just wondering on how long will this farce end. Only seventeen days left...

Right, then. First order of business: Find out what has changed and what the challenge will be, to steer clear off. To do that would require me seeing the librarian. Yet when my eyes lay on her desk, she's not there. How odd.

... And how unbelievably convenient. Remember my conversation with Seiga yesterday, I have no better chance than this, with everyone in the library still somewhat asleep and trying to get their bearings, while the librarian is out on who knows where. My former objectives thrown out of the window, I instead went towards a far important, far crucial goal: the suggestion box.

I took one of the papers there out and began writing on it as quickly and as coherent as possible. Who knows how long I have till she's back, and I'm not risking to get myself intercepted.

Dear Master of the City,

It seems that I may be experiencing some troubles with your little assistant, the librarian Miss Tairee. Though this may simply just be conjecture and misunderstanding on my part, tell me, does she happen to have some sort of plan in store for me? If so, could you please let me know and dispel it for me?

I know that my requests won't come free, so name your price.

Yours truthfully, Ellen.

The die is cast. My move has been made. I quickly folded the paper the moment I wrote my signature and place it in the box. And now, all I have to do is wait for the response...

"Normally I'd be right there with you," Ben admitted, with a slight smirk on his face. "Space is... awesome. And if I were feeling better I'd be bouncing off the walls. But well, I guess I'm still kinda... drained from having nearly drowned the other day... I'm having a little trouble being giddy right now," he sighed. "I don't even know if we beat the monster or not. Besides, who knows what the City's gonna do to us? And I'm worried about my friends, and the other members of the City Knights..."

He stepped beside her and looked out at space. "But... I guess you're right. It is a really pretty sight."

Transition to Day 12, Library
Caro explained her theory on what they’ll use the new jail for. It seemed it would be best for capturing the remaining members of the Ruckus and placing them behind bars so they won’t causing any more danger. That’s pretty clever in Lune’s opinion. Then again, Caro noted there’s the possibility of other villainous groups popping up to replace the Ruckus.

“And we’ll be there to stop them… That’s what we do, right?”

Caro immediately comforted Sans since he had that terrible nightmare. If only Lune had a bond as strong as theirs. Well, Lune has Ben. In fact, Lune joined the City Knights in attempt at showing that she was a true, blue friend. Where did Ben go during that fight against the Leviathan, anyways? Maybe Lune should call Ben in the morning. It wouldn’t make sense to ruin a good night’s sleep over something silly, right?

As soon as Caro fell asleep, Lune immediately dozed off as well. It has been a long day, ya know. Fighting off the monster and staring off into nothing for a few hours must’ve taken a lot out of her. After a string of consecutive dreams for the past few days, Lune slept peacefully for once.

Yoshika, Mysterious Space Building, Return of The Hop
The fancy-looking helmet bounced up to the ceiling, and Yoshika decided that she might as well try and get to it before it floated back down. Her steps were especially sluggish today, but she knew of a much more expedient way to get up.

She positioned herself beneath the helmet, and putting as much force as she could into her toes, she hopped. In normal gravity it would be just a high vertical leap, but here she managed to launch herself straight to the ceiling! Yoshika didn't think much of it, because she couldn't explain why her body was moving so weirdly, but she nonchalantly grabbed the helmet and came back down.

Now that that was out of the way, she felt like she could answer Rex's statements with a clear mind. "I can breath in space, even if there's no air. I don't even breath usually, so I guess it's just not a difference for me." Mucking around with the helmet, a bit hard with a hat already on, she managed to pull it over her head. A suit grew over her, which reminded her more of a scuba diver's thing than what she knew about spacesuits, but it seemed comfortable enough. "If you're going back to the library," she said, nonplussed about the magic helmet, "we can go together. I need to ask the lady there if she knows where Seiga is."

Seiga, The Library, Return of the Storyline
"Oh, that's delightful," she said to the woman, not like she knew her name, who informed her of the timely death of everyone's mutual foe. They get a prison out of this, but it probably took some great coalition to deal with it. Must've been quite a few losses on their side, but at least now Yoshika had a reason to give up and return.

Eventually.

A good time later, with Viola fast asleep and Yoshika obviously having managed to get severely lost, she was left with no choice but to continue waiting. Half-heartedly reading one of the few books that seemed familiar to her, some old collection of an American poet, she spent some time deciding exactly what she needed to put down in her message to their mutual enemy.

Threats wouldn't work, Polite Threats may get a little further, but obviously wouldn't work, and what exactly could you bargain with for the man who has everything? Maybe, right now, it would be best to simply plumb the depths and figure out exactly what was happening. Viola, formerly sleeping nearby, got up and composed her own missive, so Seiga followed suit. She didn't like having to write a letter of this kind of importance without any prior plans, but winging it was her only option.

To the person or persons responsible for our collective kidnapping:

It has come to my attention that your one servant, the Librarian, might have some variety of antagonistic intention towards me and, let's be truthful here, Ellen. This isn't a good thing, contrary to what you may believe! Considering it's in her power to do many sorts of terrible things to us, or to take away our dearest possessions, or to change our entire lives if what I understand about this Mary girl is true, I'd ask that something be done to prevent that.

I certainly understand that, if you're cognizant of this (I'm writing this as if you are) and letting her do as she pleases, the importance it has in whatever story you're writing. Conflict and insurmountable odds certainly are spices to narratives, and she is simply planning on ruining us just because of the goodness in her heart. However, if I might ask a question...

Isn't Deus Ex Machina a terrible copout?

Please consider this if you intend on letting her make her own decisions on the destinies of complete strangers. Let us forge our own paths.

-Sincerely, Seiga Kaku

Surely, taking this from what limited perspective she had of him, being a writer in charge of writing an interesting story, would prove best. With the auspicious lack of a librarian as of right now, it doesn't take long for her to carefully stuff the suggestion box with her letter...but a little longer than usual, because her first few steps were very awkward with this sudden lack of gravity. So, apparently is was Space Challenge Day or something. How pleasant. Resolving to never set foot on the ground until tomorrow, she floated on over to Viola and said, "Now that that is out of the way, I'm merely waiting for Yoshika to come back. It should be sooner than later, I figure she knows where I'll be at."

John looked at the kid. He'd been through a lot. From being trapped here for an unknown amount of time, to having to fight a stone lobster... god, imagine an average 10-year-old having to do all that. He didn't blame Ben being exhausted- It was a long day for him.

"yeah, space is really pretty. reminds me of a friend who can do spacey stuff." John reminisced about his fellow co-players. After he won the game, the mayor established Can Town and John's friends proceeded to settle down. The carapacians and the consorts all proceeded to live in the new, reformed Earth as well. Lucas finally managed to tear himself away from the window. While it was an amazing sight, he realized that others had entered the library. He saw from afar that the both Viola and Seiga put something into the box on the librarian's desk. The boy walked over to the desk and was going to focus his attention on the box, but the 2 plaques caught his eye instead. After giving them a read, Lucas looked a bit concerned. It sounded like the challenge was defeating an army or something of that sort, and Lucas was aware of what damage an army could do.

Having noticed the librarian conjuring objects for people yesterday, Lucas started thinking of a list of useful objects for the circumstances he might face outside. He waited patiently by the desk for her return.

Disheveled room - Day Transition

Curly nodded slightly at the comment about not liking leaving Yoshika to blow herself up, but she wasn't sure what else there was to say about it. Maybe they could have found another way to set off that huge explosion if someone had thought about it before the lobster started charging for them, maybe if it hadn't have worked they would have had to get to another turret to finish it off.

Whatever the case, what happened was already done. And now the two were in a messy looking abandoned room. Curly shrugged when Sophie suggested she could help take watch, but the girl was obviously falling asleep...

Soon enough it was morning and Sophie was getting up, and that roused Curly from her dozing. The robot stood and started looking around at the futuristic looking room, it seemed quite a bit more advanced than it was yesterday, and she felt quite a bit bouncier due to the lack of gravity. The rack of helmets by the door caught her interest and she picked one up to inspect it for a few moments before sticking it under her arm and turning to the lilac haired girl looking out the window.

"Well... It's morning, sorta. You want something to eat?" she said, pointing to the refrigerator with a thumb.

Random Building — Out of this world

Yoshika answered that she didn't even need to breath so she couldn't die of oxygen deprivation. Rex still thought having a spacesuit was a good idea since he wasn't sure what the limits of Yoshika's superhuman resistance were. And it's not like she seemed to know either.

"It's always good to be on the safe side"

The jiang shi asked to come along which surprised Rex because he was already planning on taking her somewhere safe. Helping people is what he did even if some people argued otherwise.note

"Yeah, of course. I'm not going to leave you here alone"

Not wanting to figure out how the airlock worked, Rex simply pressed his hands on the device and made it open with his nanites. Oh, and Yoshika mentioned that Seiga again. She sounded important.

"Who is Seiga anyway?"
