Apparently Lightfall has either leaked or aired early on the app.

Me, watching Wood Man's debut: Man, poor Aki, that must be his toughest fight yet, good thing he won't be this injured any time soon.

Real talk.

Even if they didn't telegraph who Lord Obsidian was, I would probably still have picked up on it because of that ridiculous southern drawl. And also because his armor still has that ridiculous handlebar mustache.

As soon as I saw the character's name in the summary I figured out who he was. XD it's nice to see a twist in the status quo, at least.

I'm also reminded of how poor Rush went to pieces tons of times in the Ruby-Spears cartoon. Kick the Dog was very literal in some cases, as was Mega Man being temporarily defeated for about half an episode.

I bet the Mega Key is what Guts Man was trying to steal, though I don't know why such a dangerous device exists nor why Dr. Light has it.

One thing I am confused about is how human Sgt. Night is, and if he's fully robotic I don't understand why he'd be anti-robot in public. I GUESS his plan is to free all the robots with the Mega Key and then restart the war?

I'm also getting a little tired of the Aki-doesn't-listen-to-Suna-and-gets-in-trouble plot.

[up]Pretty certain the Obsidian Armor is just a suit.

That makes sense XD

What was Drill Man doing hanging with Night? In a previous appearance he became friendly with Mega Man.

I'm almost willing to chalk it up to episodes being aired Out of Order, but this series has relatively minimal continuity anyway aside from the various Robot Master powers.

Granted, I've been watching a series and have been annoyed by how Out of Order it's been, so I might just be projecting.

I swear "Suna was right!" is almost Aki's catchphrase XD Hopefully after this fight having dire consequences he'll learn from it.

I'm also a bit concerned about possible Villain Decay since Night was beaten an episode after showing he could fight and even the robots are surprised.

Crack theory: Lord Obsidian is Breaker Night gone Mega in reverse. He's using the same program as Aki does to become Mega Man, except it's a full-body armor

Also, call me crazy, but if Mega Man is gonna try to talk out his enemies until they're on the same side, I'd really like it if they went for the "peaceful family ending" route SU is doing with its characters: Suna, Aki and Namagem live all together as siblings with Dr. Light and a Sgt. Night on his way to redemption, and the Robot Masters are also there. Basically, one human daughter, twin robot sons, two human (one partially robot) dads, and a bunch of robot pals to live with. Rush is also there and befriends Wave Man.

Is it wrong that with this show's track record, I'm fully expecting Mega Man himself to be the "Mega Key"?

Especially since Dr. Light hasn't been completely honest and forthcoming so far.

EDIT: I actually did kind of enjoy these episodes, by the by.

[up] That casts kind of a dark light on the whole show if true... But I don't doubt it!

[up][up][up][up] So like the endings of Mega Man 9 and 11, and inferably 1 given the R Ms' presence in the mangas?

A hint that Mega Man could be the key:

Mega Key, said super fast, sounds a lot like "Mega Aki"

And we're back to episodic silliness for the most part. With this batch of summaries the series is half over!

Episode 21 - Rush to Greatness
Rush puts his new battle upgrades to the test in a battle with Wave Man.

Episode 22 - Enter Namagem
Namagem attacks Mega Man using a variety of powers, revealing that they both can replicate schematics, although Namagem can carry more than three at a time.

Episode 23 - Minus Mini
When Mega Mini is kidnapped by Blasto Woman, Mega Man must track down his missing partner without the full use of his own systems.

Episode 24 - A Cut Above
Aki and Bert accidentally damage a bonsai tree outside the Lighthouse, sending the Lights' perfectionist gardener on a slicing-and-dicing spree as Cut Man.

Episode 25 - A Bot and his Dog
Tired of fielding low-stakes house calls, Mega Man gets what he wishes for when Hypno Woman hijacks the local power plant.

Episode 26 - This Man, This Man Man
When Guts Man goes on a ravenous rampage across the city, Mega Man must turn to an unlikely ally: Man Man, a bumbling, DIY human analogue to Mega Man.

I can't be the only one reminded of Sonic Man for that last one. With Mega Mini temporarily missing maybe we'll also learn how his whole thing works.

Well shoot, there goes one part of my hypothesis, but I thought Mega Man could already carry more than three at a time; every scene with the weapon schematics prior to Lightfall showed him carrying all eight!

That feels like an incredibly blatant Retcon.

I'm guessing it's about immediate access. Need to recheck but I think Mega usually has three sprites visible when using copied powers, and the most recent episode had him shuffling between only those. Mini is probably needed to swap them out for others he has on file otherwise Aki will be stuck with what's on hand.

Sources for the new episodes say 21-22 air on November 11, so the show's taking a month's break before becoming weekly again.

Hopefully they promote it more.

I'm disappointed, since me and my sister liked to watch this (even if mostly ironically, at first; we started enjoying the series maybe three weeks ago, and I think we unanimously agreed Wood Man's episode was pretty great, and we liked "Lightfall").

This news actually kind of augmented some of my irritation toward the first ten episodes, oddly, even if I know that CN was going to do this anyway.

You know what I just realized?

Since Wood Man is a fairly well-known Robot Master and I doubt they'd make him a one-shot character, I'm betting there's an episode where either his Heel–Face Turn falls through or something else happens to him that forces Mega Man to fight him.

According to Wikipedia the new episodes are airing in Canada on the 11th and on. No word yet on when/if they'll air in the US.
