Hasbro's Yokai Watch Rollout!

I haven't been keeping up with the anime, mostly because I think fan translations have either gotten slow or completely stopped. Based on the recent movies, the one thing I know is that Nate and Katie end up marrying, since the protagonist of the Shadowside movie is their daughter.

I'm betting Yo-Kai Watch 4 will be a Soft Reboot then.

Well, season 3 of the English dub finally came out, and with it the new voice actors.

Most of them are similar enough. Jibanyan sounds a bit too high-pitched, Nate's a bit too deep voiced, and Katie's voice is nothing like her old voice, but it's not that bad a change. I was expecting Pokemon levels of "These don't sound anything like the old voices".

Im glad they are good at least.

It sucks how behind the dub is. I'm hoping Shadowside comes out in three years. I don't know if they're dubbing the movies anymore, but they'll have to dub the Shadowside and Friends Forever films.

Hey, it could always be the Funimation dub of One Piece! Like 6 years behind!

I am guessing that the second movie is never going to be dubbed. There's been no word of it and the third game already came out.

Apparently they're bringing back the original Nate version of Yo-Kai Watch for some reason? Is Shadowside not doing well enough?

The newest movie coming this winter is Yo-kai Watch Jam The Movie: Yo-kai Academy Y - Can a Cat be a Hero?. It's... a High School AU featuring humanized versions of the yokai. Okay then.

It's a shame that the films aren't being dubbed. The sequels seem better than the original.

The 2019 series is out and, though I haven't seen it, it's apparently a normal continuation. Same art-style, same everything. That's disappointing but expected.

It's interesting that Katie is front-and-center again instead of Hailey Anne. Is she the main female protagonist again?

From what I remember around game 3 people were angry at Hailey Anne for replacing Kate.

I don't know anything about the Japanese fandom. Level-5 likely doesn't care much for international fans, but if kids in Japan didn't like Inaho then I can see why they'd bring Fumi back. Yo-kai Watch 4 also has her in it, which makes sense anyway because she's one of the parents.

Found it on the YMMV page! 'Hailey Anne is more popular in North America than in Japan, where she was hated by many for being a spoiled brat. It helps that a lot of the American fans of the show are pop culture geeks like she is.'

Apparently the Yokai Watch dub in America has been removed to make way for Inazuma Eleven: Ares. Hopefully Cartoon Network picks it or Shadowside up.
