In Canada, 50-59 is a D, 60-69 is a C, 70-79 is a B, and 80-100 is an A. Of course, you shift the grades a bit and you get the American system. An Canadian B is an American C. Suffice to say, it's simply easier to measure grades in numbers.

Well in England 70 is at least C-B grade
so no Yooka and Laylee did not flunk the class and won't have to repeat the school year!
New theme music also a boxReposting on this page in case yall missed it.
So yeah, Playtonic's aware of the technical issues and are working on patching them out. That's good news.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Eight Point Eight is always a thing. Jim Sterling doesn't do 8.8 though, as 5 is his average score. One may think his 2/10 is abysmally low, but it's just comparable about 5/10 of other reviewers.
In my place, for anything below college, we don't use letters and 75% is the passing grade. In college or higher, every teacher has a different grading system but it's inevitably matched to a letter from F, D to A, and the letters determine semestral average.
Neat, my girlfriend would be pleased.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Oh, I'm glad that patch fixed some of the problems. I'm sure future patches will take care of the rest.
At any rate, I'm eager to finally play this thing.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Now that some of the tech problems are fixed, I'm starting to see a few mid-positive reviews stating that the game is "outdated." Apparently a lot of people feel that it does too little to modernize the explorative 3D platformer for modern times.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. When you put Super Mario 64 and Banjo X-ooie against one another, you'll see a key difference in level design: Mario's is very concise and to the point: each level revolves around a pretty specific set of mechanics and challenges, which are largely accessible from the very beginning, because Mario always has his full moveset (aside from the unlockable hats). The Banjo approach is more of a muddled pseudo-Metroidvania sandbox, where you regularly unlock new skills, some more gimmicky than useful, and are supposed to put them to use in previous levels.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I think Banjo has some of its own advantages, though. Because there's far more focus on exploration in Banjo than Mario, looking through every nook and cranny is far more rewarding. When 3D Mario has exploration, as much as I prefer it over linear 3D Mario, it's mostly for minor optional things.
I can't put my finger on it, but I think there's compromise to be had between the two styles. Maybe I'm thinking of classic Spyro.

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Any word on the Switch port? I know the PC one comes out in a couple days.
Only Tooie does the Metroidvania thing. In Kazooie, all but one of the stages (Freezeezy Peak) can be beaten on your first visit.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?What a shitty cameo.
How appropriate—even in the game's world, Jon spews shit.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?All I can think is "What an annoying soundclip" XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.QUESTION!!!
Has there been anything mentioned or confirmed by Playtonic if the game is any different on Switch than the other systems?
I mean, I remember them mentioning an amiibo eons and ages ago, but that hasn't even been confirmed?
The audience reception to this game has apparently been a lot more positive than the review scores. Players on NeoGAF, Steam and Amazon have pretty glowing remarks to say about the game overall. The most often cited problems seem to be with the camera, minigame controls and the first boss. I've been playing through the game myself recently; I've mostly just been in Tribalstack Tropics so far. It took me a bit to warm up to the game, but so far I've really been enjoying myself minus the minigames and first boss that people seem to hate, although I was able to pass them without too much issue.
I haven't heard anything about either yet.

"I'll show you all of Paris, I'll take you on a tour, we'll go up and up and up so high they'll long for an encore!"The general response people/reviewers seem to be having is that it does the old Banjo-Kazooie style game perfectly, down to the wonky controls and camera and occasional design choices that don't make too much sense.
It's been fun.Swimming seems to be glitched or bugged or fucked or something. And the camera has earned my personal unending enmity.
But I guess I'm having fun. I'm mostly yelling 'bullshit' and 'come the fuck on' but I keep playing and I guess I feel a feeling of accomplishment when I accomplish a thing and triumph over the game's wily ways.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo, the game has both the strengths and flaws of 90's platformers. No wonder it's been getting mixed reviews.
I've beaten the final boss, and I've gotta say, I've enjoyed this game a lot. The exploration is fun, it's witty and charming, and it's good classic Rare.
There are some parts of the game that really bug me though. Like how they completely messed up the minecart sequences. Seriously, they get downright awful. It baffles me that the guys behind DKC's minecart sections failed this badly in that regard.
im...really not digging iceometric castle. it is extremely boring.
I just reached there too and I hate everything just 100% all the things
Forever liveblogging the AvengersGot this game today. It's okay. Not blowing me out of the water but it's serviceable. As much as it's like BJK, it's missing something. What the French call a certain...I don't know what that keeps it from being binge-able.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Je ne sais quoi.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
