I don't have a Wii U, but this looks RIDICULOSULY fun, so I'll probably get a Wii U so I can play it and most of the other stuff Nintendo showed at E3.
Paint-Squid-People-Fights!
Nap: I'm aware of that. But if the character design wasn't similar, it would have been covered by "squid + Nickelodeon"
Interview with Reggie the second page is almost all about Splatoon.
Games Beat: Is there a single-player campaign?
Reggie: We’re not showing single-player, but as I said, the developers have a lot more modes coming.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSee, I did the math a bit differently.
Team Fortress 2 + Codename Kids Next Door + Jet Set Radio + Squid Girl = Splatoon
Maybe my calculator's broken, but I think you guys forgot to carry the Super Mario Sunshine.
"We're home, Chewie."The first thing I thought when I first saw Splatoon was "is this de Blob?" but that was only when we saw the ink.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureWouldn't it be negative Mario Sunshine, since you're using applying paint to win?
I have a message from another time...Speaking of Team Fortress 2, how long do you guys think will it be before someone uploads RED and BLU tentacle hats to the workshop?
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I'm surprised they haven't already.
So yeah, me being a bit slow, I only really looked at this game today while waiting for today's football match to start. And the more I looked at it, the more my mind was occupied by a single thought: "I'm gonna be the best Splatoon player ever!"
I wonder if I can get some friends in on it. Must be really fun to form yourself a team and take it online. So many tactics possible with just a little coordination.
Also, as a former TF 2 player, I was quite excited when they mentioned the word "hats".

If Turf mode generates this much interest, the other modes and single player are looking promising.
Did someone say hats?

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Yeah, that's pretty much how I responded. They were talking about the ways you can customize and personalize your inkling.
They probably won't go full TF 2 hat madness, but they might just make a quick buck if they feel like adopting a foreign idea for once.
I'm hoping for all sorts of interesting modes of play.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I wonder what kinds of modes, though. Territory Control is basically Death Match and Control Points rolled into one, so that only leaves Capture the Flag out of the traditional shooter match types.
Grab the Coins, maybe, where the objective is to collect a bunch of slowly respawning objects on the field before the enemy does so? With the mobility options this game provide, something based entirely on movement might just be interesting.
A MOBA-style 'Destroy the enemy core' one could be cool. Or a 'Take over more strategic control points than the enemy' style.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projectyay splatoon
(Really just posting to say that your fanart was pretty cute, Scarabs. Someone's gotta do it.)
I was thinking a kind of VIP escort mode where one of the players has no weapons and the others must guide them to the objective.
@Faw: Thanks :)

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! How much hope is there for customizable hair from Kill La Kill instead of just hats is there for this game?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceConsidering they want to keep the squid hair for silhouette reasons, customisation might be limited to hats and masks.
...At least you could get Satsuki's eyebrows?

...I'd like to see a climb race mode where your team has to work together to get to the top of a map before another team does, and you can sabotage the other team to help out.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughRace Mode! You gotta have mastery of squid-surfing ink streams to win this.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! How about a mode where the teams are fighting for territory control of a single huge object (like a giant statue), and the arena is built like huge tiered layers of scaffolding around the thing being fought over?
I have a message from another time...
Ok, new plot summery:
Once upon a time there was this cat that lived in a colorful city.
One day, this cat was bored. So the cat got into head of the city's citizens convincing them that the city would look best if it was plastered in their color of choice. It did this until it had convinced enough citizens of enough different colors to make a bunch of fights brake out.
Then the events of Splatoon begin.
