It still doesn't look good, but at the very least it doesn't look atrocious.

On one hand, it's definitely good that they realized that they had to modify it to not make it look completely ridiculous. On the other, I feel like someone should've pointed out that if they have to modify the design that heavily to make it workable, they should've just picked a different design to win the contest in the first place.

Granted, it's kind of irrelevant since it's probably going to be Japan-only anyway, but still.

I'm going all in on tortoise, but I saw an opportunity to draw Callie as a bunny girl and dammit I wasn't going to pass that up.

Slow and Steady, heh! There's only one rule to this new Shifty Station...

Get there first and do it fast. Because this Shifty Station has a one-way propeller that moves the floor through a glass wall with no means of return. Meaning that if that floor is inked with enemy ink, you'll never be able to get it back. And not even enemy disconnect can make up for it.

I think Marina accidentally made a station that favors Team Hare since I feel 9 times out of 10, Team Hare always gets to the center first and immediately use the stage's gimmick before Team Tortoise can set a foothold...

Kinda, while I did have matches that ended like that as Team Hare, I also had many matches where team Hare either overcompensated and got splatted for it or they lazed around inking up turf on the their side allowing team Tortoise to get a foothold.

This shifty station is a cool idea but profoundly bullshit in practice. A well-organized team can win the match in 30 seconds and then you sit on your hands for another 2:30 because there's nothing you can do to change the outcome at that point. A team that doesn't know what they're doing can hold the center for the majority of the match but still lose because they couldn't get their act together for "ink the turf then shoot the target to make it inaccessible". Hell, I've been in matches where someone was mindlessly shooting the target (targets are there to be shot, right?) while obviously not understanding what it does, because the other team was inking the turf, thereby winning the match easily.

I like the core idea for the stage, but there needs to be a way to fight back against an early lead, or else it's just an exercise in frustration.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

I didn't even know there was a target. I thought the belt was on a timer. Womp womp womp

Yeah, it took me about halfway through the Splatfest before I realized that it had one of those turning things. Drove me nuts because I was trying to figure out the timing, but it seemed basically random.

Woo.

I decided to back Hare based on a friend telling me to but also based on the squid kids being rabbits at some point in development.

Double post: Dataminers have found some curious things in the data:

Shellendorf might be getting a remodel as there are multiple new ranked test maps.

Rolonium has gotten a multiplayer splat message, basically confirming it will be a Splatfest gimmick.

Both of the weapons used to defeat the final boss of Octo Expansion have been added to the multiplayer, and if you know anything about the Octo Expansion Final Boss, you will know that it's very likely that both those weapons will be used in the final Splatfest.

So I'm getting the impression that there will be no "battle of the bands" tournament with the Squid Sisters against Off the Hook, and that the final Splatfest will just be straight Pearl vs. Marina.

That's what I was afraid of honestly.

Today I learned Opening Gambit's active time is extended a few seconds for for every splat/assist you get. Was this stated anywhere in-game and I just missed it?
