Bump. Lead option is "Start YKTTW for Redneck Name, make Two First Names a redirect to it." is 11 to 5. Everything else in the red. Enough to call?

Calling crowner. Make it so.

Do we have a draft for the YKTTW ready? I don't really know what we're looking for here, so I'm probably the last person who should be writing it.

Sorry I'm late to this thread, but is it worth noting that, at least for superheroes, a creator might have given a character a common first name as a family name in an attempt to sound "All-American"?

Has anyone made a YKKTW for Redneck Name yet? I wasn't able to find it. Or has this stalled after the crowner was decided?

Stalled after the crowner was decided.

I can create the YKTTW if no one else will, if for no other reason than I'm tired of dealing with rampant misuses of what has been voted a non-trope.

There is a 'villain' version of this that has cropped up in works from time-to-time. I've used inverted commas because it's more about stories centred on conspiracy theories. Off the top of my head, I remember this trend being lampshaded in Conspiracy Theory. It centres on the idea that, in real life, some notable assassins happened to have two first names. Therefore, plots have picked this up to create conspiracy theories around; a character with two first names tends to be a clue that they're either the villain or working for the villain... like a modern day The Butler Did It.

I don't know how widespread it is, but I've seen it crop up in works before - although not usually as blatantly or self-referentially as Conspiracy Theory did.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.

I moved everything to a sandbox in case there's anything salvagable.

Just did a search in YKTTW. We don't have it.
