I like both, but ultimately Adventure Time was the better show

New Apple and Onion, yay!

I know it's old footage, but I really like that bit with Pink's Legship coming in hot. The music really makes it click.

NickAndMore did some number crunching on the falling ratings of the kids nets'...Nickelodeon had 8 shows average over a million viewers (in 2017 they had 21). Disney Channel only had 1 series average over a million viewers (2017, they had fourteen.) Cartoon Network? Um. In 2017, they had 3 shows average over a million. In 2018?

Zero.

I'm concerned.

I been looking at Toonami ratings all this past year. It has consistently kept going downward and downward. Most of the weeks set a record for the "new lowest week in 2018", which continued into last week! Last Saturday was the first time DB Super never got over 500K!

[up] And thats why Toonami is being moved to 11:00 pm starting next month (with Megalobox, Jojo, Black Clover, Hunter X Hunter, and Shippuden getting the 1-3am death slots).

I’ve peeked at the schedule and it seems to have gotten a little better across the board, CN, Adult Swim, and Toonami-wise. I’m not sure what the fix is. Kids seem to be abandoning linear TV very fast, maybe skewing older would help.

[up][up] I don't watch Toonami but I noticed the timeslot changed relatively recently. It's much earlier than before. I'm guessing to attract more kids and viewers in general. It doesn't sound like it's working.

I love the current toonami block and watch through super so I'm hoping it sticks awhile but I guess it might not?

[up] It almost felt like Thundercats Roar was dead. I haven't heard anything since that original promo months ago.

DC Superhero Girls looks so good. I've been waiting for that all year.

Did I just saw an Astro Boy like character in OK KO?

[up][up] There's probably a reason for that.

[up] It's Combo Breaker! He's finally appearing!

I really need to catch up with that show at some point...

Has the 2016 PPG reboot been officially cancelled yet? It seems to be in this gray area between Screwed by the Network and cancelled.

It's painfully embarrassing how the reboot bombed. The original was a juggernaut Cash-Cow Franchise not even fully two decades ago. I heard the toy sales were terrible and the show's viewership was mediocre too. It seems impossible to botch such a simple series like The Powerpuff Girls but they did.

What I found interesting in the 2019 sizzle reel was that, despite being on the list of shows at the very end, there was actually no footage of that series shown, which feels very conspicuous.

I have a few more stray observations about the sizzle reel, but I think I'll stick with just the surprising lack of PPG in it (there wasn't even any reused footage!).

[up][up] There was word that it was, so unless I hear otherwise, that's what I believe.

When you've got people who seemingly got their idea of what the show is like from the merchandise, the sort Craig Mc Cracken absolutely hated for distorting the public image of the show... well, no wonder they came up with that garbage.

Technically it's today it premiered.

It was supposed to be the same week as The Powerpuff Girls but there were some production problems, and so it didn't premiere till January 1999.

Later this year will be the 20th of Courage The Cowardly Dog and Mike Lu And Og.

Too bad Mike,Lu, And Og was a short runner. It could have become much more of a classic if it was given more episodes and seasons. But I always did love Courage.

I never liked Mike, lu, and of but courage was cool. It scared me a few times as a kid. I also remember feeling real bad for Eustace when they revealed how terrible his mom was. Muriel was always a sweetie, and you could really ncount on courage to come through for her.
