Definitely one of the more unique concepts I've seen
Pre-ordered a while back, really looking forward to it. It's one of my most anticipated games.
I don't get it, how does the music affect gameplay?
From what I understand, the combat works by increasing your attack power the more you stay on-beat. Do well, you'll be more powerful. Miss a bunch of beats, and your attack power will be 0.
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogYou can only move and do actions on the beat. If you try to move off beat, you won't move, and your coin multiplier will drop to 1.
Yeah, after reading the wikipedia page I learned that it's basically a turn based game where the turns are in real-time after the beat and if you miss the beat you also miss the turns. Apparently there's also a heart at the bottom of the screen (that wasn't shown in the trailer) that beats with the rhythm, making it easier to follow.
Keep in mind that it's still in Alpha, too. Things may change drastically between the first trailer and the final product.
I agree that the heart's a good touch. Makes the beat counter more obvious.
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogAlpha access for those who pre-ordered comes out tomorrow. I can't wait
Nintendork, have they said it's okay for beta testers to talk about the game openly at all? If so, we do need a wiki page for the game...
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogI'm absolutely loving this game though it's brutal and downright frustrating at times. I've just managed to beat what they have of hardcore, though. I consider that quite the achievement!
Given that they allow people to stream it freely, I'm sure they do.
Awesome. How do I request for a new page inclusion?
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogDon't need to, for a work. You can just make it.
I have a message from another time...Sorry for the delay. Will figure out how to make a page, and will add it as soon as I do so.
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogThe game's now available for early access! http://store.steampowered.com/app/247080/
I just made an article for it. It's the first time I've made an article, so let me know if there was anything I could have done better.
Zombie Kong Line plus Obsidian whip makes for a bad time.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. To hell with this game. I can't do it. Aria is too hard.
Either have one Hit Point or be damaged on missed beats, but for the love of every deity in the Heavens and Earth don't put the both of them together...
Shopkeeper plushies are now available, with the most wonderfully 90's commercial ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWIeEr3B97w

Fortissimole is incredible.
I didn't buy the DLC but I did finally buy the base game for PC for the discounted price of $3.75.
Necroing this (heh) to drop that A switch exclusive sequel has been announced.
The name, Cadence of Hyrule, should be a dead giveaway that this is a crossover with The Legend of Zelda, featuring Link and Zelda joining Cadence as playable characters, in an entirely new Zelda-themed world.
Now this is really unexpected! Due to the musical theme (heh) my long shot dream was seeing a Splaton crossover, but Zelda makes a ton of sense from an aesthetic perspective. Regardless, awesome!

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
Didn't see a thread about this just yet. It's really been blowing up on the Speed Gamers Indie Games charity stream right now.

What's everyone's take on the game? Looks pretty rad, imo.
