Wasn’t even killed off so he can return.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."DC commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Death of Superman with "The Death of the Justice League" by Joshua Williamson, who takes over from Bendis to bring the core JL title to a close at issue#75 (mirroring Superman#75, the famous 'death' issue)
Hey, Joshua Williamson writing JL was something we thought would never happen because of how tight his schedule was, yeah?
But his first issue is killing of the League? Oof.
I mean I get wanting to start from scratch to remove the stain brought up by Bendis, but killing the whole team? Oof. And here I was going to say that it was so ironic that Future State JL was written by the guy who was ready to just up and leave DC because of 5G.
Heh.
And I also would've been thinking out loud that it'd be particularly cruel if they killed off Naomi, but I notice she's nowhere to be seen.
But seriously. For real. We know this is finite, right? Like it's not gonna be permanent?

Williamson says this has ramifications across all books.
It got me wondering about the timing of Mark Waid's Superman/Batman. Some of the promotional material bills it as the "Brand New Day" of the characters. What if Infinite Frontier is building towards a back to basics hardline reboot?
I mean. The New 52 tried to be a reboot and look what happened.
I would imagine that we'll be seeing a brand spanking new League from this. (Might end up being the FS League, but...)
(I spy with my little eye Jaimie Reyes!)
"Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Zatanna will embark on this mission — and only one will return to tell the rest of the universe what has happened."
Who do you think will make it out? My guess is Zatanna.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Knowing DC, it's gonna be Batman.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."You'd think so, but his coffin's on the cover.
70% chance it's empty.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."So how long will affect the other books for, do you think?
Oh God! Natural light! It appears there's a lot of upheaval going on at DC again...Daniel Cherry, their senior VP and General Manager, has quit to work for Kanye West
Given the setup of a lone survivor telling everyone what happened, what do you suppose the odds are the League all faked their deaths as part of an elaborate scheme?
...wut.
Honestly? Maybe 40-50% possible?
Hollywood Reporter even covering it
Okay so this will bring in Future State Justice League most likely.
So FS Flash might make their return here since they are intended to be the harbinger of some new multiverse threat.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So FS Flash might make their return here since they are intended to be the harbinger of some new multiverse threat.
I mean, I was kinda hoping the Death of the Justice League would kickstart some JL-adjacent titles like maybe a relaunched Young Justice written by literally anyone but Bendis, but I guess that might not be in the cards.
Still very ironic that Williamson almost left DC over 5G and that his FS JL was (evidently, I'm not sure) subpar at best, so forgive me if I'm more than a little nervous about seeing the FS League.
Doesn't help that Green Lantern doesn't have an April solicits.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."In my head, "can't say yay or nay" reads like "I'm legally not allowed to say anything right now".
But I probably won't be surprised if it turns out Green Lantern is getting canned. I kinda opted out a while back because Keli being in the forefront is kinda obnoxious. (Do we know why Jessica Cruz is a Yellow Lantern anyway? Not that it'll matter because we see her in her Green Lantern uniform.)
Man, what's it gonna take to have some GL:TAS stuff like Aya and Razer in the main DC Universe? It's almost as if elements originating from there are banned for some petty reason.

jessica is yellow because she was transporting some yellow lantern prisoners when the rings went down and went commando on them to take them down and one of the rings decided her fear was better and then she used it to save a space cruiser and decided guess ill keep it.
Which she hasn’t really done much since.
As a Yellow Lantern she’s only been in 2 issues of the GL run, a numbered one where she pacified Keli during the latter’s rampage on Korugar but keeps her identity a secret and the annual that shows how she became a Yellow Lantern in the first place.
So if she really is going back to green already then it definitely is an aborted arc.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Apparently DC's sales for December have been described as 'terrifying', with very few placements in the top twenty or so, and they're all Batman books.
Huh I remember reading a chart about the December sales, let me look it up.
https://icv2.com/articles/markets/view/50097/top-50-comics-december-2021
Uhhhhhhh yeah the only top 20 non-Batman comic is Dark Knights of Steel by units pulled and Wonder Woman Historia by dollars. Everything else is in the low top 50.
https://icv2.com/articles/markets/view/50226/comic-store-publisher-market-shares-q4-2021
Though this other article does say DC gained on Marvel in terms of store publisher market shares whatever that means.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Doing some digging around regarding the Great Darkness and apparently Lucifer Morningstar could also be a representative of the Great Darkness?
And also the Great Darkness' other name is the Great Evil Beast?
I mean, I don't even know if Lucifer will actually get involved, but if he gets in on what's happening with Infinite Frontier, then that's going to open more than a few can of worms, yeah? Maybe poke the Endless into action while we're at it?
The Great Darkness is God's opposite; it's higher than Lucifer. Lucifer in turn is higher than all the other cosmic beings apart from God, the Great Darkness, and his older brother Michael. Dream explicitly states in Sandman that even an Endless in their own realm couldn't survive a one-on-one collision with Lucifer. Lucifer can cross the Source Wall at will without getting sucked in, meaning he's higher than the Source and thus two tiers above Perpetual.
And the Great Darkness? One hand of it curbstomped the Spectre as he was when he fought the full-power Anti-Monitor to a draw.
...yes, DC's power scale is completely borked, why do you ask?

Showed up in a 2020 arc of Catwoman, apparently.
