I think the general consensus was that Knight of Honor made them D-rank NP guns and Arturia with A Agility and Instinct was almost killed by them. Using that example how insane must a higher than D rank gun be in the hands of one skilled in the use of guns? Even non-automatic guns could be reloaded quickly by a Servant with high speeds and reflexes I think (though this part here is just my opinion not the consensus).

This is the guy that almost bludgeoned Arturia to death with a lamppost. He also countered Gate of Babylon as it was being fired. And, finally, he's faster than Saber is, so...

The situation didn't really lend itself to dodging, either (relatively small room, point blank, fully automatic—and two guns; though I can't remember which gave him a rifle). Not like an A-Rank gun is going to be faster, particularly. Boosted less than archery? Maybe. Probably, even, because it's independent of the Servant's own capabilities.

>Drake

>Hardly dangerous

She has EX rank Luck, two skills pretty much exclusive to her, and an entire armada of warships she can summon Go B style. She's far from the most broken Servant in canon, but calling her "hardly dangerous" is hardly doing her justice.

Well, we shouldn't have this mini-discussion go on forever so I'll just sum it up and you can take it as you will. In the real world, Guns > Swords/Bows/Spears. In Nasuverse, Magic Swords/Spears/Bows > Normal Guns. From what little info we have on NP guns it seems that making guns magical means Magic Guns > Magic Swords/Spears/Bows since they are now on a level playing field again.

... those two skills are 'good with boats/leading people on boats' and 'no challenge is truly impossible'. Okay, the EX-Luck is silly, but her stats are average at best and cannons have atrocious aim, plus aren't anywhere near as fast as some other guns. And she's also really damn easy to take out. Also, it's a boat. Walk up to it and it's unable to hit you. O_o

Okay, let's consider this. The two guns in canon that see proper use are dual SMG's, and Drake's ship. Dual-wielded automatic guns with seemingly endless ammo are nearly enough to overwhelm Saber's ability to dodge (nearly). Drake's aim is appalling if the damage is any indication. When it comes to supposedly inferior weapons, there's a tendency for them to cause entire areas to be reduced to rubble. And more injury was caused by a guy surreptitiously kicking a spear.

I hate guns in things like this. But you're giving them way too much credit. :/

You forgot the part where she can summon the cannons individually from hammerspace. Also, EX skills typically mean trouble (she just got taken out in Extra because even a skill that makes the impossible possible can't save you from being Shinji's Servant).

Last argument is invalid. I have an allegory. The KV-1 is a good long-ranged tank. The Matilda is a good brawler (short range) tank. KV-1 beats Matilda every time because it shoots Matilda before it even has a chance to close the distance between them. That's why the fact that they're boats doesn't matter.

One cannot give guns too much credit in the Nasuverse. After all, their invention is what lead to the end of the age of myth, and made every man capable of being a legend in their own right. Now that's some heavy shit.

Game mechanics make Drake's NP bad as it was. If NP's worked like normal in F/E then Cu would insta-kill and all sorts of things would be different but that's beside the point here entirely.

This is getting around to being borderline arguing about Drake being rejected so perhaps we ought shut this down before it goes there and Ragna has to bring down the "No Arguing about Characters" Rule into play or it just gets ugly. The rules are the rules for a reason and unless overwhelming evidence is given to prove guns are totally legit (which Nasu hasn't provided and we don't have any leap of logic to lead us otherwise either) I doubt they will change. So let's let it be and if this is truly a problem worth fighting then take it up with The Powers That Be.

I'm just arguing we have incomplete information to ban guns. We've only seen two, and only one of those was a normal NP rather than KoH. Since the sample size is so small, there's no need to judge on more than a case by case basis. [lol]

Alright. Here we go. :3

  • Class: Lancer
  • Master: To be issued
  • True Name: Tadakatsu Honda
  • Gender: Male
  • Height/Weight: 1.83 m/86 kg
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Appearance: When outside the battle, disregard them swords. When in battle, he dons a typical, slightly blinged-out samurai armor. One exception that stands in this equipment is Honda's characteristic helmet, adorned with deer antlers that make him stand out even amongst the most unusual of Servants.
  • Personality: Despite rather intimidating appearance, Honda's a well-disposed man that strictly follows a code of honor and eliminates withdrawal as an option. Possessing an amount of bravado that borders on suicidal, he never backs out of a fight and will gladly take on enemies even when grossly outnumbered. He loves them challenges and sees the modern world as one. As long as his Daimyo(as he will likely refer to his Master) is above underhanded tactics or is not a coward, he will gladly serve in their name.
  • Stats:
    • Strength: B
    • Endurance: C
    • Agility: B+
    • Magical Energy: D
    • Luck: A+
    • Noble Phantasm: B
  • Class Skills:
    • Magic Resistance: E(since he never encountered magic during his life, all he has is a reduced damage that comes entirely from being a Servant)
    • Riding: C(Honda Drives Like Crazy, but he can handle any normal mount such as a steed without difficulty)
  • Personal Skills:
    • Bravery: A+(this man walked up alongside his ten soldiers against a ginormous army of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and loudly declared his will to fight them all)
    • Eye Of The Mind(False): A(luck notwithstanding, Honda didn't earn his title of a Man Who Surpassed Death for nothing)
    • Military Tactics: B(a largely successful commander in his day)
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • Tonbogiri: The Dragonfly Cleaver -> Anti-Unit, Rank B, max. number of targets 2-4 -> One of the three legendary spears of Japan, so sharp that it was able to cut a dragonfly that landed on its immobile blade in two. Honda's only weapon and the only one he needs, it allows him to cut through anything from a mortal world like it's made of a wet paper. Concrete, steel, most resistant alloys... all of them are no match for his spear. This devastating effect does not extend to NP's, but with enough force it might be able to leave a dent in them. Maybe. Other than that, it's just a damn good spear with a wide blade(can also be used for cutting).

Hope it's not too OP. I've seen that there was one Tadakatsu here and was rejected.

Lancelot wasn't using an SMG in both hands—he was using what appears to be a sniper rifle or scoped carbine, which fires bullets that explode, and a banana clip SMG of some kind. Your point does stand that he was using the SMG one-handed, though he was firing the Sniper 2-handed. Why he doesn't just twitch his gun slightly to the left, ahead of Arturia, eludes me. Blame Mad Enhancement.

I have no idea where he was holding the SMG while he was using the sniper, since it also doesn't appear to have any sort of shoulder strap.

hah, Fate game. Really tempted to wrie up a Sign up for Phaethon, the most fail rider in all history.

  • Name: Phaethon

  • Appearance:[1] and as a normal kid

  • Class:Rider

  • Master: anyone

  • Personality: Naive, hot headed but his former experience has taught the boy wisdom. Thus he will do his best to rationalise out the situation before commencing battle. Haunted by his former failure he is eager to please and 'atone' for his stupidity. However he is but a boy and his riding skill has not improved much. He is both proud and embarrassed by his divine birth because of what it made him do.
  • Parametres:
    • Strength:D
    • Endurance:D
    • Agility:B
    • Magical energy:B
    • Luck:E
    • Divinity:A
    • Noble Phantasm:A++

  • Class Skills:
    • Riding: C

  • Personal skills:

  • Noble Phantasms:

  • Chariot of the sun, the right of divine birth- Anti-army Rank A++

The most foolish and most daring endeavor ever attempted by a boy- to prove that he was of divine Birth right Phaethon dared to drive the chariot of the sun. This chariot, made of inextinguishable living flame is pulled by nine horses wreathed in flame that breath fire. He failed. Indeed his original failure was only stopped by Zeus who stopped the rampage for fear that it might rend the Earth inhospitable. Now, Phaethon as a heroic spirit may summon this chariot at his own peril, though now he is able to gain mastery over the horses he cannot ride the chariot for long and must dispel the noble phantasm after an hour. By then he would so drained of mana that he is unable to assume physical form for the rest of the day.

  • Anointment of the Sun- personal rank :A
This passive noble phantasm protects any anointed from the scorching flames of the sun. Those anointed would become untouchable by fire having the blessing of the sun god on them.

  • He who failed who greatly dared, Rampage of the Sun. Anti-continent Rank:A++

Should Phaethon ever ride his Chariot for more than an hour or let go of the reigns then the horses of the Sun will rampage. They are some of the most powerful divine beasts, shining forth light that will blind and scorch, they will begin a heedless destruction of everything in sight. Wherever they go the ground becomes scorched and coated in flames. There are 9 horses. Each of the horses is an A rank attack. This Noble Phantasm can only be used once-ever. The noble phantasm will last at most a day- it will vanish when the sun sets. After using this Phaethon will permanently lose the chariot rendering him practically useless.

What do you make of that?

Question: what does Beowulf's EAM do? It's obviously not as good as Lancelot's (which... makes sense, the other warriors in Beowulf's life are generally terrible), but you didn't specify. :O

  • Name: Achea Revair, Achea of Infection. 'Red'.
  • Faction: Mage's Association
  • Age: 31
  • Gender: Female
  • Description: She has the 'dress like another era' thing down pat.
  • Personality: Achea is a magus whose original bright and friendly personality has been ruthlessly quashed by both the demands of her own magecraft and the general air of the Mage's Association. The result is almost a hollow shell, thinking but in general unable to care about results. Her own lack of investment in the war makes her a perfect tool for the more influential—she will fight to obtain victory, but unless the war should change her personality utterly, they can seize the prize off of her.
If pressured to make a wish, Achea would either opt for 'back to the beginning' or 'the power to reset'. Neither option lends itself to easy interpretation.
  • Abilities:
    • Element: Water.
    • Sorcery Trait: Blood of the Kings.
      • A strange Sorcery Trait, in that it hasn't been passed down—in its complete form. The entirety of the trait has only ever evidenced itself in Achea. The first function is simple—the amount of prana stored in Achea's blood is vastly increased from normal, granting a handy medium with which to draw potent magical circles, create familiars, and the like. This is the 'base' effect; the true central component to the Sorcery Trait.
The other functions are what grants her the 'of Infection' title. Simple contact with Achea's blood is sufficient to transfer the prana stored therein into one's own bloodstream. Unless a magus is drowning in it, that amount is easily washed out, same as any foreign prana. A normal person? They become a sleeper agent.
The infected have several uses—slow, almost harmless, drain of life (or extremely fast if needed) to boost the mage's own average magic circuits, if they're all within a few miles or extreme effort is taken to strengthen the bond. The second use is effectively identical to mind control—only Achea doesn't bother with the mind, just turning their body into a puppet with their mind trapped. Still, they're only normal people, so it's the last effect that has the most potency.
She can tear the blood out of their body, every last drop of it, and direct the prana-infused fluid as she wishes. It, too, can infect people—and the subsequent infection, whether spread intentionally or by accident, will continue to spread. Aside from the obvious physical uses, this blood can be used to immediately seal or replace injuries, substituting volume for volume.
There's an incubation period of several days before it is truly useful, unless sufficient prana is dumped into the target at once—this time is necessary to completely control the target from minimal initial investment.
    • Other Magecraft: Achea has a rather large knowledge of bounded fields and, oddly, runic circles; much of her magecraft is actually highly defensive—but of an active, rather than passive, nature. Redirecting, deflecting, distracting, reflecting, obscuring, and so on. More permanent defences, if they can't be tied to the nature of the land itself, are anchored to several infectees—so sufficient damage will not only break her defences but drop several people as they're drained entirely of life.
Whilst she has knowledge of very basic offensive abilities and the like, Achea is not confident in her ability to use it in a pressured scenario. Basic booby-traps are all that she can really pull off with this.
  • Bio: Considered a prodigy by her family—and quite correctly, so far as her rate of education is concerned. However, that on its own would never have gained her the name she now holds. No, that comes from her demonstrable power in an urban area. With the Clock Tower in the middle of London, she had little difficulty in appearing to have inexhaustible defences and mana so long as she didn't stray too far from the city.
Unfortunately for her, this war isn't in a major urban centre. And she can't get too trigger-happy else people will notice.
  • Assets:
    • Immaterial Scythe: A Mystic Code that, when swung, doesn't inflict any damage. Rather, if not dodged or stopped by some manner of magecraft (including magical items), it dumps a payload of prana into the target. Cumbersome and not really imparting much power, Achea's main use for the scythe can be described as 'infecting an entire market in a few minutes'.
    • Stored Prana: Before leaving the Clock Tower, Achea ensured that her blood contains as much prana as possible. Though an astonishing amount, her intent is to use it as an investment to establish herself—both immediately augmenting her Magic Circuits, summoning a Servant, and establishing a workshop with some actual defences.
    • Stipend: Here on behalf of an influential but rather cowardly group, Achea has sufficient funds to actually support herself indefinitely, depending on how things play out.
