Aww yissssss.
Playable Rottytops. At long last.
I own the Wii U version and I checked both the eShop and the file select screen, but Friends to the End is nowhere to be found. Was it backers only?
The Protomen enhanced my life.If you're in NA, then they haven't sent those codes yet. I'm still waiting for my PS 4 codes myself.
Not sure why the DLC isn't in the story select though. The game should've updated about a week ago to include an in-game link to the store with the DLC, like they did with PQQ.

It works fine on the PC version.
Bolo's spike ball special ability completely breaks the mermaid boss, by the way.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo stayed up too late to binge through Friends to the End. So tired. So worth it. Overall, I really liked the action puzzle platformer feel.
Although I would have liked them to push it a bit further into three vikings esque territory.
Also, I wish someone had said "You people will by God act like a team, or at least like people who know each other, or I'll incinerate the bunch of you here and now" but that's a personal preference.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersJust got (near) to the end of Risky Mode, planning to do Friends to the End next.
I have to say... I'm kind of glad Risky Mode was free. It's fun and all, but Risky handles like an actual boot (may just be because I haven't played in a while, but I don't remember Shantae feeling so clunky) and her pistol is worse than useless. Interesting to see what is apparently Risky's first meetings with the Barons in the new continuity, but even so.
It's been fun.Pirate's Curse on the Australian Nintendo Switch eShop; pre-purchases up now; launches next week.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Even more content
Bikini, Mighty Switch, and Ninja Shantae modes have come out
I've only played a few levels of Beach Shantae so far. Racing against the sun lotion clock is stressful. Why do you burn so easily, Shantae??
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm surprsed and impressed that they're more that just aesthetic. They're more like new game modes than just costumes!
Gotta hand it to Way Forward. They really commit!
I found a relatively cheap copy of the Wii U version of Half-Genie Hero at Toys R Us recently. I wasn't even aware it had a physical release (or that TRU would carry a non-mainstream platformer).
Wait, how recently? Toys-R-Us just went belly-up.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Have gotten through Mighty Switch and Beach Shantae. Mighty Switch was a lot easier. I had a lot of muscle memory going on there also not scurrying around for sunscreen. Also Risky, Rotty, Sky, Twitch and Vinegar as space hooligans.
The writing is probably the best part. Random costume scenarios mean a lot of hijinxes and nonsense.
Also some lampshade hanging. Ninja Shantae declares Riskyboots her greatest foe because they're always at odds! Except the one time they worked together but Risky seemed to have forgotten that. Risky responds that she has a lot of enemies all over the world because she's a busy pirate and doesn't really think of Shantae as a greatest foe.
Reusing assets means that Holly keeps coming back every time for some dumb reason and being banished for a different dumb reason. My favorite so far is police Shantae just erasing her criminal record because hey, time served.
So good times.
Edit: Apparently Shantae's real greatest foe was a volcano

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! For a second I thought the Mighty Switch Force costume was a reference to Mighty Number Nine. Before I realized it was a reference to another Wayforward game series, I was thinking "Huh, this is already a better Mighty No. 9 game than the actual Mighty No. 9."
Disgusted, but not surprisedIf you want a better Mighty No 9 game than MN 9 then check out Mighty Gunvolt Burst.
Just completed the Mighty Switch Force mode and while I loved it, I was very disappointed in the lack of one thing from the series: Where was my auto-switching level Wayforward?!
I'm glad the Tinkerbat transformation is out and about for everyone, though after using it, I can see that it lacks the sheer functionality it had from the first game.
Though to be fair, considering how... fairly early one can get it, before even the Elephant Dance, Having it combine the usefulness of that, Monkey and Spider (not so much with the latter now since it was changed), it'd be really gamebreaking. Of course, as far as gamebreaking things go, Gemjug says howdy.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefI bought the full Switch edition recently and I'm having a lot of fun with it. So far I've cleared the main quest (only the non-100% speedrun winscreen is still missing, thanks to hero mode), Pirate Queen's Quest and I'm in the middle of a playthrough of Beach Mode.
I have just one reproach to the game, however, and that's its Game Over screen. Or more exactly, the need for a Loading Screen before displaying it, and to return from it. Given how easy it is to die in Beach Mode (especially to bosses), it quickly turns into Loads and Loads of Loading. If they were that strapped for memory, couldn't they simply write "game over" on a black background in the Switch's default font? I would have preferred that over the current situation.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Having only played Half-Genie Hero, I finally got around to watching Let's Play vids of the previous games (Brickroad's LPs of the first two, then Liam Triforce's voiced Pirate's Curse LP).
And I think... The next game's Big Bad should totally be hijacked by Squid Baron, who would then reveal he purposely kickstarted the plot (e.g. breaking a seal, giving the Big Bad the first Plot Coupon, etc.) so there would be a new game, and then gained the Big Bad's trust just so he could backstab them and set himself up as final boss... all for the sake of being final boss, of course.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."That seems like where the running gag must end up eventually. Either that or the 100% bonus boss

My Wii U is out of space for the updates :( I guess I'll have to delete stuff.
