Beverly Hills Chihuahua:

Stray observations:

  • I wasn't a huge fun of the "Weed is fun, lol" skits—not huge on stoner humor—but the punchline was funny. I did like the "Not That's What I Call Shit" sketches, though.
  • "Have you ever seen an animal quietly trying to say 'Euthanize me'?"
  • Is the "I want a rewrite" sequence a reference to something?
  • "You may remember her from Coyote Ugly. ...I mean *I* don't but you might."
  • "...For now."
  • If I were to guess, Chloe was put to a fight with a larger dog because the sick fucks in the audience wanted to see a little puppy get torn to shreds.
  • "But should we really reward crimes we didn't commit?"
  • ...Why does Doug have a photo of John Candy on his computer?
  • "That bitch be juicin'! Strip her lies from the record!"

Hmm, I guess he's starting to replace "Phantom Menace" jokes with "Rise Of Skywalker" jokes.

Wait 10-20 years and we'll have hipsters saying the Sequel Trilogy is better than whatever Star Wars series exists at the time

RE: Is the "I want a rewrite" sequence a reference to something?

I think it was meant to be a nod to the Taco Bell chihuahua character from the late 90s.

I haven't seen The George Lopez Show in ages but didn't the line "We're Mexican, not Mexican't" come from an episode of that?

Boy, Doug is getting some milage out of the "Charlie's Angels" reboot film not being great. I presume a review of that film will be on the table in the next coming months.

That's Star Wars references like four videos in a row.

I submitted to Once an Episode that he mentioned Star Wars, but it was taken off because it wasn't true. It might be!

Well, here's one of them: https://streamable.com/wys2v

EDIT: Wait, no one got the new NC review up...

This one has been a long time coming. I’m surprised that it took so long for him to cover this blessed memey mess.

EDIT: [nja]'d!

Stray observations:

  • As I understand it from the comments, almost every YouTube channel has done ads for RAID: Shadow Legends?
  • "Why did you write me one sentence? That was weird."
  • "I expect five memes in the next three minutes, Internet! GO!"
  • "I was waiting literally hours for someone to ask me that. Thank you for allowing me to do my routine."
  • "You know who else was concerned about stuff? HITLER!"
  • "Congratulations, you've passed Memes 101. Please collect sweating Jordan Peele as your diploma."
  • "Thank you! It was critically underrated!"
  • "I have great parents!"
  • "At least they're... progressive criminals?"
  • Wait, that *wasn't* Doug doing John Malkovich's high-pitched voice?
  • "I like *bears*."
  • Rachel's cameo was a nice surprise.
  • Judging from all the people listed under "Additional Writing," it seems we're going to get an extra-packed First Viewing.

I unironically love Con Air, it's such an enjoyable movie.

Also, at this point there are more youtubers advertising Raid Shadow Legends than people playing it.

Correct a lot of people have made an advertisement for Raid Shadow Legend and a few other apps. Nord VPN also gets a lot of ad space.

This week, NC posts a tribute to Duckman:

An enjoyable video, it's always interesting to see a positive NC episode on something.

Next week: As Doug and Rob said during their last week's stream, a movie from the early 80's that many people have heard of but not as many have seen. Judging from this photo, Supergirl.

I haven’t heard of the Supergirl movie. As far as pre-Wonder Woman (2017) super heroine movies go, I assume this is the best (as in not shitty) one?

I was thinking a few years ago that a good subject for one of his editorials would be separating art from the artist. Too bad there's no way to comfortably do that now.

Ive always wanted Doug to do an editorial on celebrity voice actors vs. Professional voice actors. And the pros and cons of both.

I always liked his editorial. Sure not everyone is perfect. But it's nice to see Doug do some research. Or talk about something he is passionate about.

[up][up][up] I remember meeting Jim Cummings at a Con, and I actually asked him about that. If celebrities were taking work away from voice actors. He was really sarcastic and was like, "Oh those celebrities taking work away!".

I then asked him if he was friends with any celebrities and he said he was friends with other voice actors.
