I think Wall-E comes closest.
Bob and Helen are already married but The Incredibles is pretty romantic.

I dont think Wall-E is the closest it has to a romance, I think IT IS a romance and the best one out of Pixar at it.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I wasn't saying Wall-E isn't a romance, just that romance isn't really the main plot, the main plot being "get the humans back to Earth". It's a romance in the same way Zootopia is, where the romance is a sub-plot.

Yes, hence why I said 'straight-up romance', not 'sci-fi or superhero movie with romance aspects'.
It's been 3000 years…Zootopia isn’t a romance because not only are Nick and Judy’s interactions kept to at most Ship Tease, but the goals of the characters are ones like trying to prove themselves at their job. In WALL-E, while the plot’s goal may be delivering the plant, it’s a MacGuffin that WALL-E himself is nearly all uninterested in, in favor of trying to get with EVE. And while EVE’s initial goal is fulfilling her directive, midway through the movie her priority changes to being with WALL-E.
I know but I still mantain that is a straight romance. Also, the whole humanity thing is only focused on the second half. the first is about Wall-E and how lonely he is until along came EVE.
Sure there is more plot than just the romance and that could disqualify it but I still think Wall-E and EVE's romance is the main thing.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I recently got reminded that Holey Moley exists again so I’m going to inflict it on you guys. Someone put together a compilation of just the Muppet scenes, and while it’s an improvement over the actual episodes, it’s still a chore to sit through.
It was filmed in 2021, so I get why Dave and Gonzo couldn’t be there, but honestly, why even bother at that point? I mean, if any of the characters would get genuinely excited over Extreme Mini Golf, it would definitely be Gonzo, and he could at least bring some much needed enthusiasm to the proceedings.
And if anyone wants it, here’s Muppet Night on the Masked Singer. It’s actually really fun, and is a great example of how to do a muppet guest appearance effectively. Miss Piggy is a guest panelist for the whole night, Kermit and Animal make live appearances in the different musical numbers, and there’s even a few prerecorded clips to showcase different characters like Fozzie and Uncle Deadly. (Also Kermit plays a piano, presumably because Bill wasn’t there to do Rowlf, and they just made do.)

Get ready for another "Disney's First Gay Character"
This time from Strange World, which I barely seen advertisement of.
I've actually seen some commercials for it, but I hardly watch TV so I can't say how often it happens.
I've seen it advertised on Disney-owned channels like FX but otherwise nothing.
It's been 3000 years…I've seen it advertised on Youtube constantly.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I don’t know why, but that kind of gives me a bad signal for how the movie’s going to be. I mean, yeah, if they’re barely advertising it, that makes you wonder what they don’t want us to see. But then again, I remember Encanto barely being advertised, and that... was Encanto, so maybe my fear is unfounded.

“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”I liked how they made earth in Elemental, it really leaned in the concept of the soil as a source of life and vegetation, which is a nice contrast to how other works usually portray this element as barren rocks and minerals. I thought air looked too uninteresting though, and the fact that they are clouds may also raise some Fridge Logic on why they are different from water elementals.
oh hey how are you doing?I've seen some TV advertising for Strange World—along with a really odd cross-promotion (a mattress company? Really?)— but not a lot. Oddly, they lead off with "From the same studio that brought you Encanto and Big Hero 6. Like there's anybody on Earth left who doesn't know who Disney is, but that person has heard of Encanto and Big Hero 6. Just some weird choices at play.

Looks like history is repeating itself. Somebody tried to promote The Nutcracker and the Four Realms by putting its logo on boxes for plastic bags. What do plastic bags have to do with ballet? :S
I like to keep my audience riveted.> What do plastic bags have to do with ballet?
the cynic in me says that the ballet has become as commercialized as the plastic bags..what?
New theme music also a boxDid the plastic bags have nuts in them?
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Nope; they were empty.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Mentioning Big Hero 6 is an odd choice, to me that film always feels like the oft-forgotten middle child compared to its contemporaries. Perhaps the movie aims for a similar tone?
Edited by Xeroop on Nov 20th 2022 at 10:48:54 PM
Yes, I guess it's because out of their recent movies, Big Hero 6 is the closest to the action-adventure tone Strange World is aiming for, instead of being a princess musical or a Funny Animal story.
I mean, Moana was probably more in line with the tone of this movie than Big Hero 6 is.
I always assume the "from the makers of" banner - while always presented generally - is influenced by specific people involved in development or producers, etc. So that while it says "from the studio that brought you X" it means "by the group within the studio that brought you X."
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Recently The Sea Beast was advertised as being from the director of Big Hero 6, and there was also the Baymax! series recently, so it's on some people's minds.
But yeah, there are some works that are more influential for what they achieve behind the scenes than what they do among audiences.
I feel like whenever Disney makes a "first gay character" the movie ends up being terrible or mediocre.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.
If Elemental is going to be a romance, is this the first straight-up romance Pixar's ever done?
