About Mashin Sentai Kiramager...Does anyone else think that Super Sentai wasted a good opportunity by not making 2020's Sentai team a sports-themed sentai to go with the Summer Olympics in Tokyo?

So, anyone have the commitment o write the recap page?

I watched Episode 0 of Kiramager and it was fantastic at setting up the plot. I hope it can keep it's level of quality and make great characters for this year after the disappointment of Ryusoulger and they're lack of character presence.

As someone who liked Ryusoulger, I'm guessing the chat has been ultimately silent because of the disdain towards it.

Kiramager....I'm still not sure how this Five-Man Band is going to work

• Red's obviously The Leader.
• Blue's naturally The Lancer
• Pink's the The Chick but also a doctor so she could be the smart one.
• Yellow's a strategist but that might not always develop into intelligence outside of the battlefield...
• And Green's fast. Technically The Big Guy, but not many big guys are Fragile Speedsters.

IMO it's still too early to finalize who fill into what slot. For example, Blue may be The Lancer to Red, but Green is the first to object to Red's designation as the leader (it'll be episode 2), and Yellow might straight-up call the shots despite Red's designation (iirc, the offical website states that he plans out for the team, not sure whether I've read anymore)

One other thing. I want to classify Wiseru's debut two parter as a Bizarro Episode because the episode has two aliens that are never seen again, Asuna's bad singing is never addressed again, and the Ryusoulgers don't deal with stuff from space as often as frequent as other focused or unfocused sentai. When Carranger, Fiveman and Go-Onger can get away with inconsequential characters from space better, something is clearly off. Granted it is possible to claim Early-Installment Weirdness but that is one of many plot threads Ryusoulger left dangling, like the suicidal immortal prime minister.

Well immortality is immortality. She probably just moved on to find a new life or to disappear and do something else.

As for the girls, we know the Druidons escaped to space before so its no surprise they probably went to attack other planets and targets. Its like how they found Kreon. They had like 8 generals, and Kreon helped them bolster their monsters for them.

But the point I am making is that the druidons were from Earth but then went to space and came back. The Gaisorg armor was from Earth, went to space and came back because of Nada. These are the only two characters actually from outer space and they only matter for a single general. There is a lot about Ryusoulger that didn't need space to be involved... except for those two characters. Super Sentai has it's fair share of episodes in the beginning that don't matter to the greater narrative, but this is and Go-Onger are the only times where unrelated aliens show up in an episode. Fiveman has many episodes where unrelated aliens show up but Fiveman's villains were already planet destroying aliens.

Well Pricious was the weakest general before the show and after his space travels, he ended up being the strongest, so they have to have been done doing something. Its more of an Off Screen Moment Of Awesome then.

Kiramagers (and Zero-One) promote sanitation

Kiramager episode Zero and 1 have been so much fun. Thanks to zero, the other four are mostly experienced, and with 1, you see all the good and bad traits in Juru and where he needs to improve. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Yellow's zord being a Excavator sort of makes sense, the skill crane has been pretty popular, there's crane simulator video game, and for the games Tametomo plays, there's got to be collecting items and weapons that fits with his zord grabbing debris and using them as weapons.

I want that BGM, it sounds so elegant and cool. And I love each of the ranger's fighting styles. Blue's hard hitting and overall balanced with his sword, Yellow's flashy but accurate, Pink is graceful and powerful, and Green is quick in speed and reflexes.

The zords are also pretty nice, and in comparison to something like Ninja Steel, the zord decisions and examples make sense for the most part since Red is legitmately the imaginative and creative one.

Anyone else want the Princess to become the Sixth Ranger of the group?

The instruction/prophecy did say she was supposed to fight (unless that was a translation issue). I'm still not sure if they'd do a female sixth, but it would be very neat if she got to transform.

Iirc what really happened in episode 0 is that she told paap man that she herself cannot fight.

Its funny seeing Blue as a master swordsman, considering his previous role was Crow the Phantom Knight in Garo Makai no Hana.

Super Sentai will never try to make a female a sixth ranger. The one exception made was as a duo by the Go-On Wings. Super Sentai is too much of a boys' show for a female sixth ranger as the red and the sixth are usually the ones that get the most toys and story. America is more open to that kind of idea but Japan is not.

Once again, hoping they'll let us watch in UK. Lot of the legal options aren't actually available here (many of the DV Ds are the wrong regions and the Youtube channels are region locked). I have been meaning to watch some of the lesser known Toku (so not Rider/Sentai as Toei goes), so that is an interesting selection. Kind of funny they chose Shin for Kamen Rider though, as possibly the least representative example there is.

It's kinda weird how we don't have much to say about Mashin Sentai Kiramager. It is good and even though I have some nitpicks I like where things are at. We could also discuss how Juuru's actor was tested positive for Covid-19 but we are here for escapism. We could also talk about scans. I am just curious why we stopped talking here.

I just thought everyone here but me hates modern Sentai. I love talking about the show, Rysuoulger was so much fun and Kiramager seems very interesting so far.

And after episode 4, I really want the Princess to be the sixth. There are so many signs and introducing some nobody would've sucked.

Aside from the principle that females never become sixth senshi, Mabushiina isn't a fighter and she is written similarly to a child while being a straight man to the mentor's goofiness.

Miu? And she's around a child age. Plus there's no reason she can't train if she wanted to. Heck, like 1/3 of Sixth Rangers aren't traditional fighters and some rangers don't even have proper training. That's what the show's for.
