For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Well guys, tonight marks the start of the Deathstalker Gauntlet. 4 nights, 4 sword and sorcery flicks, 3 actors sharing the title role in the strangest order that I've ever found out about.
- Monday, November 26—Deathstalker
- Tuesday, November 27—Deathstalker II
- Wednesday, November 28—Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell
- Thursday, November 29—Deathstalker IV: Match of Titans

You have two Wednesdays on there!
Anyways, after careful thinking, I may have to retire from Synchtube... Again. I may be able to attend the Pre-Shows, but the movies are off limits.

Just floating around...Any reason why?
Well, my cousins usually go to bed earlier, due to school, and nighttime coming earlier than usual.
Plus, said cousin that broke his arm a few weeks ago may still be on pain meds, and it kinda knocks him out.
So I don't disturb him, I usually just shut down the lappy after he's out like a light.
Just floating around...Why don't you just use headphones?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I do, but it's for the best that I go to bed at the same time as them.
Just floating around.../NITPICK MODE ACTIVATE:
It was Carnosaurs 2, not the first one.
War is God.Wow... you've guys seen a lot of movies.
Can we start rating movies now or does the rating system still need to be set up?
One day, I aspire to be the rat that pressed the button in Endgame.I know what rating Birdemic will get...
A Throw it in a volcano and blow up the volcano with a missile kinda rating?
We totally should do a Review Show where I end up getting injured every episode, depending on the movie.

Just floating around...Just to let you know, I might not be able to come this movie night. I'm busy with high school homework.
One day, I aspire to be the rat that pressed the button in Endgame. The Deathstalker Gauntlet begins! http://synchtu.be/SeanMurrayI
Something for everybody to take their mind off Deathstalker. RIPOFFCEPTION, edited down to ten minutes, assembled by yours truly.
Blingbeard > Count Zartharn, and I will not back down from this remark.

Said it before, and I will say it again. FUCK THAT SHIT. BIZARRO-MANOS.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I doubt my braincells will ever recover.
Even Persona 4's failed to get it out of my mind so far. I'm going to play Borderlands and hope that Mr TORGUE (he's, objectivally speaking, the anti-Deathstalkernote ) can set my mind at ease.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Every movie is different? This might not be so bad then.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerTropestalker?
Just floating around...I managed to sleep off the incredible awfulness of this movie. It looks like the other films won't be THAT BAD... which is good for our sanitys.
One day, I aspire to be the rat that pressed the button in Endgame.So... It was that bad?
Good thing I had to go to sleep early...
Just floating around...I'm feeling better now. Tired from playing games all night, but better.
Thanks Mr. Torgue!
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerSo last night we left off with the vague idea of a rating system for movies on a 6 point scale.
5= Loved It, 4= Really Liked It, 3= Liked It, 2= Meh, 1= Didn't Like It, X = HATED IT
If we want to come up with more unique designations for those numbers (i.e. ' 5= Starcrash'), I'm open to doing that, but the general idea is still that our ratings correspond to one of six very basic responses to a movie.
From now on, we'll vote after every movie, and the average of everyone's personal rating is made an official rating. Every average rating ending in a decimal at .6 or higher is rounded up to the next highest whole number (for instance, a movie that averages 4.6 after voting gets bumped up to the high 5's); any averages with a decimal below .6 get rounded down.
5 and X , lying at the extremes of this scale, are both pretty much "Broke The Scale" Ratings. If you really loved or really hated a feature, you know where your vote goes, but try not to live at either one of those two extremes too often, otherwise I might have to start questioning people's personal judgement (just as all of you should question mine if even I developed that kind of a voting pattern).
By these rules, last night's movie averaged a 1, both with and without (and I'm counting without) the rouge 5-vote that likely came from "unnamed".

I would love to see the beginning of the Birdemic Review, had we be animated...
Pro: (He is holding a chainsaw) Mweheheh... Time to rid the world of this movie once and for all.
Di: Pro? How come you got my chainsaw?
Pro: It's because... of THIS! (He breaks down crying, as the camera pans over to the Birdemic review.)
Just floating around...The worst of the worst movies don't make Prom cry; they make him shoot acid from his eyes which ruins his screen.

So yeah, this whole plan to measure movies on a scale that compares it to Starcrash. A lot to discuss there. In the morning.
For now, here's a list of every film that I can find record of having been featured by us. Let me know if I'm forgetting anything, I guess.
Note: As of Nov. 26, 2012, we determine a collective rating to reflect our general opinions on any given title, which is translated here with a star () rating that is illustrated after listed titles. Some movies viewed before 11/26/12 have not received a rating. On other rare occasions, certain titles presented for serious, more thought-provoking critical reception and analysis have also been given no rating and are listed in bold print. (And to learn more about how our System works, scroll to the BOTTOM of this very post)
Film Count: 2,181
After every Feature Presentation, everyone present in the chatroom gets to have the opportunity to cast their own rating on a movie, the average figure based on all individual ratings then determines the coven's "official" rating (anything ending in a decimal is rounded up to the next highest rating at .6). Movies are measured across a 5-point scale that translates as follows:
Note, to be a "well-rounded" connoisseur of trash films, it is necessary to view some and -rated movies, even an X every once in a while. If you value your sanity, never watch two X or -rated movies back-to-back. Too much of a good thing can be bad, and too much of a bad thing will just flat out kill you.
