67 wicks and 34 inbounds, for the record. I tihnk this qualifies as underperforming.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAh, I didn't know what counted. It is pretty common although when someone wants this trope, they aren't going to be looking for 'like a weasel'
Good trope, terribly opaque name. How about something along the lines of Opinion Flip-Flop?
I always thought the name worked on two levels. It's a line from Hamlet, and it's also a good way of describing someone who does this.
The name is obscure/obtuse and the trope is underperforming. Seems like a rename could help.
So, it's supposed to be a specific instant of Yes-Man flipfloping around? Screwing With The Yes Man maybe?
Fight smart, not fair.Clocking.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerIt may be a line in Hamlet, but it's just a line in Hamlet where Hamlet says a cloud looks like a weasel. He's not referring to Polonius as "like a weasel". Without he context of the whole exchange "It looks like a camel", "Yes, it does", "Or like a weasel", "Or that" it's irrelevant to the trope, which appears to be "Yes-Man even if that means contradicting themselves".
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Crowner's hooked.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCalling for a rename.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerAlt names crowner here but to be honest we need better names there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanVotes bump with crowner!
Snapshot:
- Opinion Flip-Flop 12-1 yea/nay
- Screwing With The Yes Man 3-6 yea/nay
Go ahead with it. The crowner is decisive, and the thread's been languishing long enough. There may be a better name out there that we didn't find, but Opinion Flip-Flop isn't horrid, like "Like a Weasel" is.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Did the rename, wicks (including some misuse removal) and all the tagging required, except for Baka (locked page; edit request was submitted) and Like A Weasel (the old laconic; it's on the Cut List and the wick will go away as soon as it gets cut).

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
This needs a good redirect farm. The usage seems correct as 'character is a Yes-Man' but the name is a bit...obscure.
