Frankly... Meh.
I don't think it will be enough to wash the stain of the Eidos port. The new features don't sound all that great, the page doesn't seem to say if they upgraded the graphics, and they're pushing their own digital distribution platform through it. Probably won't buy.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Maybe I get it. Maybe I don't. I'm not interested in any remake (and considering that they will most likely screw up, it's better that the don't make one), so I'm completely fine with a mere rerelease.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Or from a more Japanese-oriented perspective, she's "Agreeable, sociable, optimistic, artistic & passionate". Or so our trope page implies.
"Worst Traits: Vain, rude, jealous, arrogant, chatterbox."

http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Unless you count how easily broken IV DS was, but...
I have a message from another time...I never beatn FF 4 on DS, it wsa too hard too me at one point that I just give up, but every other remake or update rerelease were cool
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/@Clarste: Well, I sure don't remember any flashbacks like that in the original game. I'm not surprised at all that this isn't new information, but I didn't know it until now.
Welcome to th:|What was the max resolution of the Eidos port? Was it better then the Ps1 version?
If you go into a certain house in the Mountain Village after Aeris's death, you find a computer with recordings of Aeris's Mom.

DumboGlad to see this. Especially if they improve the graphics heavily.
That, and I still need a full copy. XD
Quest 64 threadThis is good for me. I can finally play FF 7 on my comp.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff. So this won't fix character models right? Shame. I don't want an HD port but they could at least try and make the character models look like the ones from FF 8 and 9. Heck, the main characters could just use their battle models.
There's a mod that does that already for the PC version
DumboI'm guessing it wouldn't do that for anybody who doesn't have another model right? If so then not interested. Even if the NP Cs are largely unimportant I want them to look normal too.
People actually thought it would? Surely they would have said so up front if it did.
Somehow you know that the time is right. So it's essentially an unofficial easy mode, rather than a pointless Bribing Your Way to Victory? Eh, whatever. FFVII is one of the easier F Fs, so it's not such a big deal then.
I hope they at least prevent you from getting achievements if you use it.
Somehow you know that the time is right.Easy for you maybe
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Wow! This is great. I remember trying to get my old Eidos PC port of FFVII to work on my Windows XP box and failing miserably. The game would play but the Indeo video codec that they used was completely obsolete and unsupported so I couldn't see any video. It won't even load on Windows 7.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Why was she called Aeris instead of Aerith at the beginning? was it a JP to ENG pronounciation fumble or just an incident of Lithp/Lisp?
Bad codecs makes the whole world blind.Spell My Name With An S. Japanese lacks a number of sounds Western languages have, -th being one of them. Plus, the translation wasn't done by Square at that time.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerIs there any proof that Square didn't handle the translation? Interviews with Richard Honeywood indicate translation work at the time was handled by someone at Square's US office.
Well, her father lived in Icicle Lodge because her mother lived there. Her mother lived there because. It could maybe not be a coincidence that it's near the Forgotten City, but it still wouldn't mean much.
