Moe: Accepted, and welcome to Sky dorm. BTW, you didn't butcher the naming conventions — it's actually a plausible name — but I doubt anyone save that goth girl I know dresses like that
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundHuzzah~! I'm always kinda worried when I name characters in languages that might have different naming conventions to what I'm used to, so it's good to know I didn't screw that up. Thanks.
How will we manage the duels? It seems a bit unwieldy to just RP them out in full in the thread; is the plan to have in-character duels on DN or something like that?
Also, does the ban on Exxod mean I can't use the Sphinxes and so forth? 'cause I was thinking of using a slightly more dramatized version of my Rock deck, but if that's not going to work, I can do something else.
Some of the cards in my character's deck are not on Duelingnetwork just yet.
It would not work there.
I see no reason not to do full duels on the thread. It has been done before.
Wait a minute... this series... this was a school series, correct?
Then why don't I just do what I like to do on DN? I'll be a teacher! Like a good version of Bandit Keith: keep a bunch of decks on me I can alternate between (instead of sticking to machines, Keith, since apparently you're the only person in the world that does that), and give the pointers to the students. And since I'm out of regular focus, you don't need to go into a ton of detail on my decks if you don't want to. Unless you have to.
If I could be a teacher, I mean.
Incidentally, I'm thinking of making a deck based on just the warrior monsters that Yugi would use.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyIf you do the duels on DN you lose the reactions of the other characters and most importantly, the ham. I mean, you could ham it up on DN, but the hammy dialogue disappears the moment the duel's over. D:
Also, yeah, it's been done in threads in the past few RPs without any real issues. So long as whoever's giving people their cards is paying a little bit of attention, there's no problem. Also, and this might just be with duels I've given people cards for, if you want a proper dramatic duel, a person can make sure it happens while DN can easily screw someone over with a bad hand.
And...I'll have my character up soonish, just trying to decide whether to give her a Cthulhu cult (although someone has Eria as an important card already, so maybe not), Destiny Heroes, Madolche, Gusto or a spellcaster deck. Or one of several other ideas. >.<
Burn up, hurricane of justice!@Evi: Accepted, and welcome to, surprisingly, Sky dorm.
@duels: Duels will be played in the thread, as Evi, Nick and Tachi noted.
The whole purpose of the RP is Large Ham.
@Gilphon: Sphinxes are fine; it's only Exxod that is problematic due to plot reasons.
@Wandy: Well, I guess that's a possibility, but that means you'll miss a lot of the action, especially in the Tournament Arc (the later arc will be more heavy, plot-wise, so it will be less of a problem). If this doesn't bother you, put a signup up.
@Everybody else: Aside from Wandy, Gilphon and Tachi, which haven't coughed up a sheet yet, there is place for three more characters. More than twelve players is too much to manage in an RP like this.
I'm definitely interested in doing this. I'll need some time in order to pull together complete deck list, but I'll try to get it up soon-ish.
I want to make a kinda-sorta villain. Someone who opposes the heroes, but does so because he wants them to be strong... to evolve.
Said character will use my set of custom cards tailored for the Cyberdark archetype. He also has the annoying habit of Pharaoh Atem-style-Heart of the Cards-DEM-pick the turnabout card at the best moment... but only against past and present metagame decks.
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!@Krika: Take your time.
@Nitramy: Please PM me the details, OK?
I'm fine with missing most of the action.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyThen post a signup.
EDIT: Below is the sheet for Avrum Rozen, the headmaster. He does not have a decklist because he isn't supposed to duel. He can, though.
- Name: Avrum Rozen.
- Age: 23. Yes, he's relatively young for a headmaster.
- Gender: male.
- Duel Disk: shaped like Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7's wing.
- Dorm: N/A (he's the headmaster, remember?).
- Appearance: Hello there, Sherlock. Yes, he wears a longcoat, despite the heat.
- History: Avrum is a successful man. He is known for the large amount of money he inherited from his father, who died an untimely death at the hands of a mysterious assailant. It is known that he invested a large sum of money in various duelling-related projects, and that he donated quite a lot of money to East Academy before becoming its headmaster. Other than that, though, he led a rather normal life.
He is known for his friendly behaviour toward his students, preferring to act like a big brother rather than a teacher. He does not have many rules, but is quick to punish those who violate them — mainly because they're there for the students' own good (for example, don't wander off into the desert alone). - Duel Spirit: The aforementioned Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7.
- Deck: Constellar Control. No decklist because, as I noted above, he isn't supposed to duel.
- Other: N/A.
- Timezone: As noted before, GMT+2.

The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground(BUMP)
-Beats himself for not noticing earlier-
Um, Evi, you can't have more than three copies of the same card in your deck.
Well, I'm equally to blame; I should've noticed this before I OK'd your signup.

The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground- Name: Peter Agnew
- Age: 17

- Duel Disk: Standard.
- Appearance: A scrawny but tall boy, with light brown hair that often covers his eyes. He wears a long beige cloak that conceals most of his body because he thinks it looks cool.
- History: He has spent a large portion of his life travelling with his archeologist father, and has seen many ancient buildings. Some of them his father was able to save, others have been destroyed in order to re-purpose the stone. He is quiet most of the time, but is will speak at length when given reason to. Acts prickly and anti-social, but is loyal to a fault.

I'd like to let you know that I'm interested in joining this, but I need to edit my deck a bit before I can post my sign-up.
This could have been some deep and thought-provoking statement about myself, but that would be too much work to come up with.- Name: Jackson Hana
- Age: 23. Yes, he's relatively young for a headmaster.
- Gender: male.
- Duel Disk: Doesn't wear one often, but it's basically Rinoa's ring blade from Dead Fantasy. A duel disk that's a disk. Crazy, huh?
- His classroom is in a large dueling stadium like from the Original series. Instead of Red and Blue sides, they're black and white.
- Dorm: Would he be a house head?
- Appearance & personality: jeans or slacks, rolled up sleeved fitted shirt, belt and tie. Likes to set up a color scheme each day. If he feels the class is zoning out, he'll swap out the tie with a backup in his desk to see what they're paying attention to, if at all. Spends time showing students how they might make the most of themselves. You could find him in the gym in the mornings, or reading in his office during the day, when he isn't asleep at his desk from overworking. Eligible bachelor. Friendly smirk, which disappears when he takes off his glasses and loosens his tie to get serious.
- History: Just a normal guy, worked himself from working class into upper-middle class off of his tournament winnings, but at the peak of his career, decided he liked to teach.
- Duel Spirit: None, but he can hear the voice in all things. Alternatively, maybe Gagagigo and Zombyra the Dark? I dunno.
- Deck: Uses several decks, but his main one for teaching is "Blizzard Blade", a Wetlands/Ice Barrier deck. For teaching students by example that like his cards, they carry potential in growth. His main deck to prove his point to stubborn people is a Banish deck that's on the surface a hodge-podge of cards. He isn't supposed to duel much, being a teacher, so this and his other decks are rarely seen. (Do I have to post a deck list?)
- Other: N/A.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyYet another character that doesn't really fit given where this is set! But um...on the plus side, at least she's from the Eastern side of the world?
- Name: Sarah Wilks
- Age: 16
- Gender: Female
- Duel Disk: Standard academy duel disk.
- Dorm: Sea
- Appearance: "Hi~"
- History: There's not really much to say about Sarah's past, she was born in Australia, spent most of her childhood doing normal things, playing card games and such. At 13, she won a local tournament (mostly by luck) and her parents took this as a sign that they should let her focus on this thing that she was clearly amazing at. Following that, she was signed up to attend the academy.

Burn up, hurricane of justice! What's the ratio of dueling-to-plot here? I wasn't involved in any of the other Yu Gi Oh RP's here so I wouldn't know.
I could play a second tier character, though. So I don't have to be around as much.
edit: If we're allowing custom cards than nevermind, cuz...yeah. That's a no-go.
edit 2: Are we only allowed one deck? I have two that I normally use (a Gem-Knight deck, which you can ask Parable about, and a Gradius swarm deck). It's not like either is a meta deck or anything, so it'd mostly just be a matter of personal choice, but I could pick one if required to.
also I feel the need to point out that the standard Dark World deck (that is, the one you can buy) is total crap. I really don't see the point in forbidding it.
If you're meaning one of the custom more meta builds, than sure.

the cat got skinned again!Um... Just saw this and... I'd like to kindly ask we not do this. Sorry, just... Just about everything about the idea irks me. Sorry. >.<
Um... So, uh, here we go! Turns out I had an Arcana Force deck already made up, so I tweaked it a little bit and... Well, hopefully it works. >.<
