Poor Image: People Of Hair Color

"Guess which one is not a local"...Who? If different ethnicities/races/tribes are supposed to be portrayed by different hair colors, then all the people in the painting are from different places. Yet only one of them is not local.

I was just coming here to make a thread for this.

Anyway, agreed. Motion to pull.

It's very clear. The woman with hair clearly darker than that of the others is by herself looking out to the ocean.

Vote to pull for the reasons in the OP. Frankly, the image is outright wrong: The Ginger is the most likely to be the "Outsider" since it's a double recessive hair color. Meaning in a group of blonds, she's VERY unlikely.

Well, in this image it's more light hair versus dark hair in a "first glance" sort of way. I fail to see how this is a problem.

Okay, maybe I should add, in a hottip or note, "It's the one with the darkest hair"? I'm reluctant to do that because I still don't understand how it's not painfully obvious.

Actually, at first glance I thought both of the blondes were just wearing white habits (along with the one who really is wearing a white habit). Then I saw the redhead and decided she would make the most sense.

At first glance I thought it was the one wearing the wimple, she's the only one covering her head.

I was actually thinking using them together to contrast each other, but one image is fine.

Not a fan of the image. The ginger girl is all the way in the back, and she's the most likely the foreign one to me.

When I think of the foreign one, I think of the one who's not hanging out with the others. The dark-haired one. I could rewrite the caption to specify that if it's really necessary.

Or, there's the Lothlorien elves. But at 350 width and a height of half that, I'm not so sure…

I'd say the fifth one is the best of those. There are enough people that even a parsimonious crop would get the point across.

They have to be uploaded to the tvtropes server to show in the thread; all other images have to be links.

I like the Lothlorien elves but I like this more. Thought cropping the width was better than making it tiny:

It's not the trope, exactly, though. Would rather see a "race" of dark-haired people and a "race" of blondes, or something.

Good image. You can clearly tell who's the "outcast" of the group by the one with the light blue hair.

I can't think of anything good for a signature.

I think that's the perfect size. I like this one better as well. First I was thinking about putting the two elves' groups to contrast each other (the blond hair vs dark hair like you suggested), but the Rivendell elves are not a good example. In this pic you can clearly see who's not part of the group.

The blue-haired guy is part of the same race. Maybe it's cause he's older.
