Marvel solicitations for November 2019.
Looks like 2099 is officially back, with 2099: Alpha/Omega, Fantastic Four 2099, Punisher 2099, and Conan 2099 in November, with Spider-Man 2099, Ghost Rider 2099, Doom 2099, and Venom 2099 probably coming later.
I don't think there had been a Fantastic Four 2099 in the initial run so new concept?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI have wanted to get collections of Doom 2099 and the legendary classic that is Punisher 2099.
I don't need a jetpack, all I need is hate!
There actually was a Fantastic Four 2099 book, but it only lasted eight issues. The only new addition this time appears to be Conan 2099 and Venom 2099 getting his own book (he was a part of Spider-Man 2099 last time, I believe).
So I'm re-watching the big chase scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp, and I'm wondering if this entire thing has made Marvel re-consider some villain/hero feuds.
There's some surprising potential for Ant-Man and/or The Wasp vs Ghost if this movie is anything to go by.
A lot of unorthodox fights could be had.
In fact, they should see about taking some cues about what heroes fight what villains from the movies. It's a good opportunity to change things up a bit.
One Strip! One Strip!Whatever Marvel ends up doing with the Fantastic Four on film, I hope they continue the trend of Sue being a scientist in her own right.
Wait, what?
When did this happen?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI was referring to the previous Fantastic Four films.
Ah.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIf Franklin will be at the end of the universe, then he should also be around in 2099, right?
Ultimate Secret WarsSpeaking of that, does anyone have any ideas for how they would want to see out of a good Fantastic Four movie?
How do you guys think they should be incorporated into the MCU? Or do you want it to be a separate (possibly animated) project?

I still like the idea that they took off into SPACE in the 60s and are only getting back now
Their origin is told in a motion comic style presentation at the Fantastic Four museum right before they return
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think it needs to be in the MCU, but I also think it can take place in present day. It doesn't have to be set in the '60s at all.
Have the prologue be set in the 60’s, and then they somehow time jump to modern day with the powers and the DOOM and the what have you.
Once again, I don't think they need to do that. The FF's origin is timeless enough that it can happen in any era, but also we already had a Fish out of Water with Steve Rogers, we don't need the FF to be that, too.
Steve Rogers isn't around anymore though.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundTrue but it would still feel redundant I think. And after all the complaints about previous films not respecting the source material, I don't understand why this change has to be made.
I remember this idea coming up in regards to the X-Men, but what if they weren't natives of the current universe?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’I’d like them to build up Doom for a sequel and maybe have them start by fighting someone like the mole man or maybe even molecule man. You know get the team dynamics sorted out first.

I definitely think you need to get the four right before they tackle Doom. On the other hand, I think Doom needs his own movie to really establish him. The next big idea should be secret wars. And Doom is the protagonist of secret wars both in 1984 and 2015
I’m still waiting on Silver Surfer (played by Keanu Reeves) to show up. You probably don’t have to do the FF first what with the avengers pretty much disbanded and Captain Marvel probably up in space now would be a good time I’d think.
The MCU has a lot of stuff to solve with both Fantastic Four and X-Men.
With the FF the problem is there's never been a single good movie with the Fantastic Four. The stuff that made the Fantastic Four work in the comics, their pages being the linchpin for the Marvel Shared Universe which introduced the Inhumans, Black Panther, and Silver Surfer is no longer there. So if you do the Fantastic Four you need to do the characters...and there the problem is Reed and Sue, who are Vanilla Protagonist next to Johnny and Ben Grimm. The previous Fantastic Four movies tried to make Reed Richards interesting, and made him a nerd who did well and has issues about scoring over jocks, none of which made Reed more interesting and compelling. You need the Reed who said, 'This is the crossroads to infinity and the junction to everywhere' and the audience is like Hell Yes. My advice would be to focus on the Hickman run. Hickman really made the Four work. And Reed's desire to "solve everything" finally made the character tick in a way he never did before.
With the X-Men, the issue is that there's only one awesome movie without Wolverine in a major role (First Class). The most recent X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix was a major bomb (and it had no Wolverine), and probably a record holder for lowest performing superhero movie. So Marvel has to do a couple of things. Either do the X-Men without Wolverine, or do the X-Men with Wolverine. The problem is that both options entail doing it without Hugh Jackman, and whoever they cast as Wolverine has to compete with Jackman. Wolverine's not an easy role to cast. You need to cast an actor who looks like a dude in his 30s-40s but who's also a 200 year old immortal. Jackman managed to convey that, especially in Logan. But not many actors can. The other key roles are Xavier and Magneto. My advice would be to retain James Mcavoy and Fassbender, especially Fassbender. Fassbender can be Magneto for a decade or so easily. My advice would be to adapt X-Men: Grand Design's first book. Use the Title "Grand Design" and use the Original Class, and make Cyclops and Jean the heroes. Give us the Cyclops we deserve, the stick-in-the-mud unfaithful boyfriend/husband turned mutant revolutionary. And if you are bringing in Jean, don't do Phoenix. Let it rest. It's done. I also think X-Men: Evolution is a good model to follow and hey that's where X-23/Laura comes from.
Bringing Wolverine into the MCU at this late stage is also kind of pointless. The stuff that could have been tapped into, Wolverine and Cap being buddies in World War 2, Wolverine and Nick Fury knowing each other for decades. That's pretty much gone now. You can't deal with that right now because Chris Evans' Cap is off the table. So if you do Wolverine in the MCU he's gonna have to be reimagined and refashioned.
I think Darth Carol's costume looks pretty cool.
