Well, the list of the devices that support Windows 10 Mobile is a tad short. I only recognize Acer and Microsoft's own Lumia - not the most popular brands when it comes to mobile devices.
Spiral out, keep going.Does anyone know if there's any decent pure IM clients left?
I'm tired of Skype trying to "improve" what's not broken (and they've now gone from harassing their users to trying to force us to update - fuck that), Discord is designed around gaming/team servers, the DM function is annoying and it has a hard-to-read color scheme, and LINE won't even let me sign up without a smartphone or a Facebook account (even if I have no interest in either).

Facebook Messenger is pretty good. But I'd go with what the people you're trying to chat with are also using. Otherwise you end up having to get all your friends to adopt a new platform. The ideological hatred for all those things you list isn't hurting anyone but yourself.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"... Discord's colour scheme? It's... white on black. If you don't like dark themes, there's a light option in the settings.
Avatar SourceTelegram is a great IM client. Very lightweight, though you need a cell phone number to use it for verification. You can add people by username and they can't see your number.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I had Icechat, back when I was RP'ing on https://www.darkmyst.org/
Trillian was good, but now that AIM and other services have gone away, I'd recommend Icechat.
Find an IRC server (or host your own) and get Icechat.

My HP Laptop is falling apart but no longer have the warranty and/or money for repairs. What should I do?
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Save up for a new laptop.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Yeah, you generally can't repair latops because a lot of is internal so you can't just slot stuff out of place
New theme music also a boxIts all soldered together, its honestly one reason that I like the extended warenties with laptops is because if its a hardware issue, not even knowing IT can really help you.
But what we can do is attempt to figure out if its something easy too help with, or the just bin it kind of issue.
Can you describe how exactly it is falling apart in more detail please?
The hinges where the screen located has fallen apart to the point where I need tape in order to keep my machine together and I can still use the notebook. Recently, the casing on my laptop screen is also becoming undone.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Yeah you're going to need to replace the whole thing really.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Yep, it's time to get a new laptop.
Disgusted, but not surprisedNot sure where to post this, since it isn't about a physical computer, but why the hell is TV Tropes trying to ram targeted advertising down our throats?
It keeps the lights on.
Avatar SourceYou can send us money directly if you like. Websites aren't free. (We are, in fact, developing an ad-free subscription service, but I don't have an ETA.)

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Regular ads are okay. What I object to is 1) targeted advertisement 2) repeatedly being asked the same question, with the "wrong" answer resulting in a page redirect.
If ads are hijacking your browsing or redirecting you, you should report them, as we do not want those. You need to specifically identify the ad for it to be of any use, though.
Edited to add: There should be a "report" button next to all of our external advertisements, and if that doesn't work, you can use this thread.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh, that's the GDPR prompt. You should only be getting that once. We've asked the devs to look into why it's coming back for everyone each day. See this topic.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I never said I'd accept if such a thing were to happen. Thanks for the link (funnily enough, this is the click that prompted the offending message today).
I browse TvTropes without Adblock at work during my downtime, corporate IT does a good job of blocking spyware. At home I have both NoScript and Adblock due to many web ads following me and having been burned once before.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48So, this is a thing (three months old): An AI has learned to do half-assed plagiarism like a real student. That counts as passing a Turing test, right?
I don't know anybody with a Windows 10 phone. As long as they keep supporting the desktop OS, I'll be happy.
