A piece on ex-FARC fighters that refused to surrender and get back to the cocaine game.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"The Fujimorists are still pushing their law against state intervention in media. Which is godawful because the goverment can't communicate themselves, especially in the rural mountains where the radio talk shows are the only way that people can get info.
Our rural zone is having its typical cold season where people need a lot of help and info or they will die. Without goverment info from the radio, they will have a even harder time.
What do you expect from the party whose name come from a dictator that tried to stelizate the people from said zone?
Watch me destroying my countryApparently Lula da Silva's being released from prison pending another appeal.
Is willing/able to flee the country at this point? That's probably what I'd do..
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.
And leave his country to that madman of Bolsonaro? I don't know for sure if Lula is crooked or not, but I'm sure as hell he isn't callous/stupid enough to allow Bolsonaro to reach power when he still can do something.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.". Obrador is part of the old guard, along with many communist parties, that are not in favour."

Marco Aurelio Denegri, Peruvian intellectual, literature critic, television host and sexologist died today. He was 80 years old.
Well...Good bye sir. Nothing more to say. Goodbye. I have to admit that I hardly watched his program, but still...Good bye.

And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!
Indeed it is, president Vizcarra has finally called for a referendum to debate over the reelection of the congressmen, while this is small steps, it's also an indicator that he's not going to allow the Fujimorists to curb the country.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.Sorry for the double post, but I have to vent a bit about the situation of the venezuelans here in Peru.
Honestly, this is starting to become more of a grey issue than what I used to believe, and I really feel sorry for the venezuelans but I cannot fully say that their entry is going to bring us just benefits, even in the long run.
Now, I know the whole "taking our jobs" cry is something of a joke, I also can't help but wonder if there isn't a grain of truth in that, after all, those that hire tend to look for those that ask the least remuneration, leaving the previous workers with either less pay or without jobs, and while I know that might be benefitial in an economical sense (at least for the entrepenuers for sure), I doubt the same can be said about the lower classes that used to work those jobs.
I really don't want to, nor intend to, buy into the xenophobia that some people are spreading, but I can't just pretend that the growing discontent doesn't have a sliver of truth behind it.
Once again, I apologise to all venezuelans that are reading this, I hope this wasn't insulting (or at the least, too offensive).
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.The "they take our jobs!" line is the oldest trick in the xenophobes' book. Don't fall for it.

Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah. Also, more of less all economists (including actual academical right wingers) agree that inmigrants usually boost a economy and make it more active.
Watch me destroying my countryThe National Museum of Brazil has been gutted by fire. Damage is unknown, but there is undoubtedly a massive loss of priceless and timeless exhibits at play here.
Always tragic to see history burn.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.20 Million historical artifacts were housed there. The most famous being: Luzia the oldest human fossil found in Brazil, the largest Egyptian artifact and mummy collection of the Americas, some of the oldest dinosaur fossils of the America and one of the largest collections of Greco-Roman artifacts of the Americas. All of them are quite probably lost.
The director of the museum has said "effectively everything" in the museum has been lost, though the firemen reported they (in a suicidal heroic move) braved the flames to evacuate as much material as humanly possible, so some things survived.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Fuck, aside from a loss of human life, there is nothing worse than losing history like this.
I'm assuming that this was an accident (as the vast majority of structure fires are), but of course we need to wait for the investigation.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Fuck, this is terrible to hear.
According to the BBC, Officials in Brazil have blamed lack of funding for the cause of the fire.

It has been confirmed Luzia (the aforementioned human fossil) and most of the fossil collection has been taken by the fire. Also the entire ward of traditional African history and its priceless tribal african pieces. The only confirmed "survivor" is largest metereorite ever found in Brazil somehow survived the flames◊. No other info on what was survived or not.
The Police has also officially opened the investigation on the causes of the fire.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Oy. What a catastrophe. Fires in libraries and museums with unique artifacts are the worst things possible.
(Meteorites are by default fireproof, otherwise they don't survive atmospheric entry)
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo surprise over a iron rich meteorite surviving the flames, if it survived the landfall it should survive a building fire.
Still, this news really make me sad, I've visited that museum a decade ago and it was wonderful.
Inter arma enim silent legesI was under the impression they became more fragile once they cooled down in the earth's atmosphere.
Still, quite sad.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Twitter feed from a Brazilian colourist. Not sure if it's reliable but it looks fairly tragic so far. Words fail me...

I'm sure that we would bio engineer our God-Emperor before even trying to stop choosing anyone based on ideals rather than for the candidate.
...yet I'm strangely fond of having somewhat different options from time to time.
