Well, start writing Victorian romances and epic poetry!
I think it's more "rare" than "not thriving".
Hm, 2 sounds about right. I'm not sure though, I don't study the history of media.
Fight smart, not fair.Yep, it's a thing. Should I add 3d movies? They faded in and have come back big in the New Tens
Hmm this is a tough one really. The description is crap and any example could be argued endlessly.
Now what would the time period of a genre killer to relaunch? I mean Love Hina revitalized Harem Anime s after it nearly died but that was only about 3 years when it was dying. (its considered the work that rebuilt and saved the genre). Pretty Cure revitalized The Magical Girl genre after it was completely flooded to the point no one made them anymore but the people who started the genre that was like only around 4 years. (dying genre to making 10 billion yen a year for 9 years now) No Genre-Killer for both these they just died.
