I think what hes getting at is if the game has you play for 3 hours(regardless of plot) to get a 2 minute sex scene is it still porn?

Panctice Squad Cutterback has just thrown Hen on the cutlist, stating "It's a hentai." At the most according to the page, it's Ecchi. Would somebody PM him or her and tell them to knock it off? If he or she really wants it gone that badly, they should flag it and let P5 handle it.

Don't judge it by that...I like Gantz, but Hen was just irritating...the art style never evolves, the principal female character is one of those people that you just want to Dope Slap every time she opens her mouth, plus she's an obnoxious manipulator, the relationships never go anywhere, and the conclusion was literally WTF-worthy.

Yes, it might still be porn, but it isn't going to be porn "because it has no plot, so it's obviously porn without plot". That's what I was arguing with. Advanced VG was cut because it had an Excuse Plot, as if every single fighting game in existence didn't have an Excuse Plot whether it has any pornographic content in it or not. Someone recommended cutting Mitsudomoe with one of the reasons being that it had no plot, even though from his description it obviously lacked plot because it was a gag series, not because people watch it for the sex. "Has no plot" is being interpreted entirely too literally.

Honestly, I don't remember anything that would push it into the "porn" category, but there's a scene with a young boy and the main character that's listed on the trope page that will probably get it tossed. Couldn't tell you where it's at in the manga, I'd forgotten about it until I read the trope page.

I'll petition for Variable Geo. It has many clean games in the series, and the rule about "excuse plot" was inappropriately applied because a fighting game is a genre that generally has no plot anyway.

One potential problem with Variable Geo is that one of the principal character is 16 years old but doesn't look or act it. Since she's not exempt from the graphic scenes, it's probably safest to limit it the Bleached Underpants versions I mentioned earlier, which are merely ecchi and are most of the ones with plot. (The Visual Novel Variable Geo Neo seems to be Plot With Porn, judging from this review, but it doesn't seem to have a translation and there weren't any examples from it on the old page.)

I can confirm that yes, Hen does have a (entirely unnecessary to the larger story yet non explicit) shotacon scene (we don't actually see most of the act, but it's obvious what happened), and while it is ecchi, I have read the whole thing, and while it does have a plot (albeit a clumsily executed one with some slipshod pacing and some crappy filler), even I'd have a really hard time defending it.

It's terrible but almost entirely ecchi (we never actually see any lower genitalia), but that shotacon scene, non explicit as it was, was undeniable in its context.

What was the context, and in what light was the act portrayed? And is there more of the same, or is it a one-off incident?

It's a one time scene, a textbook Big-Lipped Alligator Moment more or less, and it's thankfully brief.

It contributes virtually nothing to the plot, and the whole scene is so pointless the manga could have been rereleased minus the scene and the entire story would not suffer for its absence.

As for the context, the scene plays out like this: Some kid who regards the main female character as a stand in for Fujiko Mine decides to, ahem, act out his......fantasies.

Afterwards, during which a partial Sexy Discretion Shot who blocks anything graphic yet lets us know some crude attempt at intercourse happened, the scene ends, and the next morning Chizuru (the female character) wakes up, seemingly unaware the entire incident happened at all.

Based on what the trope page said about the kid (who is really Gonk), the whole scene reeks of some tacky Author Appeal (apparently, the kid doubled as an Author Avatar), but in terms of how the scene affects the story, the impact is nil, and again, its basically a surreal (and tacky) BLAM.

What does she look and act like? A few years younger, or five years old? Or does she just act normal for her age but seem immature because everyone else is excessively mature, like Naruto in Naruto?

Here's a profile of that character, as featured in the OVA. Apparently the most objectionable thing about her in the OVA is her habit of groping other girls' breasts, but other shows have been accepted despite that type of content.

Yeah if Variable Geo has non-porny versions and adaptations, I'd be fine with the page coming back in some form.
