The English voices for the Universe 11 deities have been revealed.

Interesting how they're adopting U11's GoD as Vermoud (to preserve the vermouth pun). That seems logical but for some reason I always see everyone using Belmond.

Like I said before, Toyotaro seems to have just stopped giving a fuck. Not that I can blame him.

so it seems a lot of the stuff was in the original outline then, but overall I can't say im too fond of the changes toyotoro did make.

Btw, someone here commented about how the videogames will treat the two Brolies.

I have the theory that old Broly will be quietly out of Heroes material for nowdue to a policy forbidding the creators of using Super characters and transformations beyond the promotional commercials. In fact, I believe Cumber was created as a substitute for old Broly. So, with new Broly, the old one quietly takes a dive in the background.

Also, oh goodie, the different names. Wonderful, now it will give me a headache.

I don't really see how Broly would be any different from like GT Goku vs. Super Goku. Same character but different continuities.

Different names for the Gods of Destruction doesn't bother me too much since they're mostly minor characters anyway. Toppo changing to Top is the one that's going to take me a while to get used to.

I hope the name changes mean it gets changed back to "Kafla" like it should be.

I really think that the manga should have come first, laying the groundwork, and then the anime would use the Seasonal approach, while adding in extra details that the manga glossed over.

Vegeta claiming he's never been taught by anyone seems odd considering his current training with Whis, but Whis is his first ever teacher.

While Blue-per saiyan is flawed as a whole, I do think that Vegeta finding his own path to strength makes more sense than just following Goku's lead. He's been doing that and it's never worked.

The entirety of Super is flawed. Anime and Manga both. I no longer see any value in claiming one is better than the other.

So the victor of the eternal argument between Saiga and PMC is HandsomeRob.

Meh, I still think the manga overall is better than the anime, but these latest chapters have been....yikes.

See, the thing is, if both are crap, and one is slightly better crap, IT'S STILL CRAP!

It's the Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich argument as far as I'm concerned.

I'm here to see how it turns out (because there are some things about the manga / anime I prefer and I'm curious to see what differences there really are), but I no longer play the which is better game.

We should go back to discussing important Dragonball matters...

Toppo/Top is the exception because he has to fit the kitchen appliances pun of the Pride Troopers (Dyspo = disposal, Kahseral = casserole, etc.). If I were to be generous I might assume Toppo's name is a double meaning pun, on both "pot" and Rosso di Toppo, a red wine from Perugia.

The Tournament of Power just seems like a flawed concept that just couldn't really work.

Just consider canon the parts that either the manga or the anime did well and call it a day.

Good philosophy overall in this case.

Considering that Super takes place before the ending of Dragon Ball, that is actually good advice. Not that I hated series I just wanted to see how the series continued on from the ending, seeing how Uub developed from a small village child to Goku's true successor but I know that is not gonna happen. Goku is the face of the series so the story is going to continue to be the main character.

Edit Perhaps it is my own fault for expecting more from Dragon Ball, I genuinely wanted the series to grow from where it is.

I mostly just wanted Super to definitively fuck and contradict GT. But instead it ended up about equally as flawed.

...I mean, at least Super didn't have this shit or that fucking deer so I'm personally counting that as a win in the "sexualization of 9-year-olds" department.

Japan what the shit. Toei what the shit. Just. What the shit.

Anyway, I do like Super more than GT still, broadly. It's flawed, often in many of the same ways, but.

I mean, I think Beerus and Whis are just so damned good supporting cast members. Not that I count them as Super per se, what with Battle of Gods and Resurrection F.

I still wish instead of Super we had gotten a series of movies. I would miss my filler like Arale and Vegeta cooking and Brian Drummond. But everything else would be, hopefully, more tightly paced.

The Battle of Gods Saga on TV was, like, infinitely worse than the movie. But I think the Battle of Gods movie is one of my favorite Dragon Ball anythings, so. I'm biased.

...I think I ultimately like Resurrection F's anime more than I expected, and maybe more than the movie, but admittedly the Resurrection F movie was flawed anyway.

Now, some of these arcs are too long, maybe, for a movie, but. While the advantage of a movie is being self-contained and being better paced, it is possible to still do serialization with the format. There have been two-parter movies in American cinema for stuff.

But, hopefully, if they didnt have to focus on putting shit out weekly for syndication, I could look at the animation without wanting to fucking vomit.

Resurrection F was never good & being adapted into a show made it even worse.

By God that art & animation was fucking abysmal.

The Dr. Slump stuff could've been an interlude in one of the movies or an intro.

Also, that's bad...but it doesn't really matter because Dragon Ball isn't pure.

I mean, yeah, I guess I mostly just liked Ginyu and Gotenks conceptually.

Considering Trunks actually killed Frieza, I do think Frieza not meeting Kid Trunks feels like wasted potential.

But then, maybe it would be something to save for the Tournament of Power two-part movie.

Ginyu admittedly makes no fucking sense, but I love him. <3

I mean, in my book there's a difference between "not pure" and that.

There are moments in GT that feel more like a hentai. Baby just as a character feels really. Fetishy.

...Admittedly Buu and Cell sorta went there too in places. And, like, FighterZ is a thing.

But the fact that Pan is goddamned 9 just makes it so it feels so much worse.
