I thought it was a stock joke about someone thinking a term would make a good rock band name.
That is what this should be about.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. What DQZ said
I could go with that.
The page is a Naming Conventions trope. It is no more or less tropeworthy then all our other Naming Conventions.
Keep as is.
DQZ's is what I thought the page was about.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThose should be their own tropes, as naming patterns are allowed to be so.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yep. Thought it was about the stock phrase/joke.
Clocking due to lack of activity.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.This should be restricted to in-universe examples. Currently it's just a list of band names that some troper likes.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Personally I think this should just be labeled Just for Fun.
Or have the Just for Fun stuff moved to the Just for Fun namespace while this here keeps to in-universe examples and Fridge Logic examples.
By Fridge Logic examples I mean like in negima early in the manga the Robot Girl used her Rocket Arm to do a Forehead Flick aka "Dekopin" to attack someone and 100 chapters later we find that 4 of the students have a band named "Dekopin Rocket".

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!There are some genuine examples in there, like Between The Buried And Me being named from a lyric in a Counting Crows song.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.It belongs in Trivia.
Title tropes are not trivia. But even then, the title formats make separate tropes, same with title formats for other works.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. This discussion is quickly turning into 'We should do something.' 'Should we do something?' 'We should do something.'
Good sign that there is nothing to do here, but I am not lock-hollering as there are other hollers I am waiting response for.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell my early suggestion did get some support. Do some still agree with it?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It's not clear at all, but I suppose you could crowner it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou mean my "a stock joke about someone thinking a term would make a good rock band name" comment, or something else?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Here you go, a brand new crowner: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crowner.php/PageAction/AGoodNameForARockBand
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Crowner added to thread.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Would mine and ccoa's example fall under the in universe option?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Dekopin Rocket is clearly in-universe, yes.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Calling crowner.
We are redefining this as about the stock joke of a character noting that some term would be a good band name, in-universe.
No other option has consensus.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.What are we going to do about RL examples, like Between The Buried And Me? Just remove them?

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
A Good Name for a Rock Band is nothing but a list of band names that fit various patterns. How the hell is that a trope?
First of all, look at "The" list. Is it really tropeworthy that billions of band names are "The X"?
Is it really tropeworthy that a band name is only one syllable?
Is it really tropeworthy that a band name has a number in it?
Is it really tropeworthy that a band name is a Word Salad Title?
Is it really tropeworthy that a band name is the name of its members? That would include about 95% of all duos.
tl;dr: This article is a total mess, consisting of crazy-long lists since nearly every criterion is just about universal. It's flat out not a trope.
