The first thing that comes to mind is Tales Of, but that doesn't really work all that well...
I have a message from another time...Soul Calibur, Tekken, Tales and Pac Man are the big 4 that come to mind when I think of namco. Oh and Xenogears.

Banpresto has a fairly sizable resume, but the only ones I saw that I recognized as popular were Super Robot Wars and Summon Night
So, my money is on some kind of RPG
Really? The company makes Pac Man, Tekken, and Soul Calibur, and the Tales series is the first thing that comes to mind?
Banpresto mostly seems to make anime Licensed Games, but of note, they've developed or published Super Robot Wars, Summon Night, and Ar Tonelico.
When I think Bandai, I think Digimon.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DPacman? Huh. Never thought about his origins before.
Tekken, I'm not really a follower of.
And there's also Soul Calibur, true.
I have a message from another time...Yeah, maybe some kind of SRW-flavored crossover? Dunno.
Digimon's been kinda under the radar for a while, though.
You... didn't know that?

My first thought was Tech Romancer 2 for some reason.
I'm excited for... whatever this is, or whatever it turns out to be. Do you think it will be a fighter or an RPG, tropers? And if it's a mega-crossover, what characters do you wanna see?
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyRPG, hands down. Capcom and Namco are already working on crossover fighters with each other. I doubt they'd do a third one just to add Sega into the mix (and have it be developed by a company that is famous for RP Gs).

Watch SymphogearCool! Now if only someone could translate that Japanese text...
Hoping really much for an RPG
Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...The Japanese doesn't really say anything important.
Urgent News Flash
The mysterious crossover project from three game making companies starts!
You couldn't have predicted this
Wait for more information!
The scripts were rejected. Expect the unexpected.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. So it's a crossover...would really like a NAMC Ox SEG Ax CAPCOM, with as good of a remix soundtrack as NAMC Ox CAPCOM...and just think of the possibilities with THREE companies. Klonoa and Sonic and Mega Man, Virtua Fighter/Tekken/Street Fighter, Streets of Rage and Final Fight...
Streets Of Rage x Final Fight x Urban Reign?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It was in the back of my mind, or something.
I have a message from another time...I second the RPG emotion, if it means some kind of mega-crossover between Tales, Phantasy Star (I'd prefer Skies Of Arcadia, but Sega's obviously shown that they've all but forgotten that one), and Breath Of Fire.
...That sounds far too ambitious, though. >.<
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyYou're leaning in the wrong direction for RPG, I think. Banpresto is well known for strategy role-playing games. When you keep that in mind, almost nothing is too ambitious.

^ You mean like Tactical RP Gs?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yes. I've seen them referred to as SRP Gs all day.
Assuming the 3 major ones have some say into what's going on, would a platformer not be unreasonable? After all, they're what Sega's best at...
Platformers typically have a small number of characters, the opposite of what you want for a crossover
^ Not necessarily - it could be a crossover
We know that Banpresto is named but not a headline, a good sign that they're probably producing it but not actually having one of their specific properties included, so it's probably be good to remember that. Namco, Sega and Capcom are the major players in it, but Banpresto's actually making it.
What genre of games is Banpresto known for?
