The Vampire Audi commercial, Wego, and the one with the Darth Vader tag were my favorites. The post-apocalypse Dodge commercial was right up there at the top, as well. The Godaddy ones can die in a fire, as far as I'm concerned.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Goddamnit John Stamos, I've never wanted to be a gay man more in my life.
Also, the Ok Go commercial and music video. Damn, that was amazing.
The Darth Vader tag sort of ruined that commercial for me, actually. Maybe if they had aired the Darth Vader part as a separate, short commercial it would have worked, but as it was it felt a little bit desperate, when the commercial would have been perfectly memorable on it's own. Okay, you got my attention with the dog getting in shape to a catchy James Brown song, you don't need to be all "Oh hey, if you don't like dogs, here's the Darth Vader kid from our old ad again! You liked the Darth Vader kid, right?"
I already forget what brand that smartphone one was supposed to be for, but it did remind me of how fun The Darkness' "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" was. Maybe it'll boost some of their sales again, although I see that Audi vampire ad doing much more in the Revival by Commercialization department for Echo And The Bunnymen.
I must have missed the OK Go ad when it aired, but I saw it online later - pretty cool, I'm sort of a sucker for real life applications of Everything Is an Instrument.

Both Doritos commercials were hilarious. I also liked the one about the geek yogurt, along with The Voice why with Betty White. And the Pepsi one...
Can we please expand the topic to the Half-time Show, if we don't have a topic for that already?
Wooosh!
Waaaaaay over my head.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'The Doritos commercial with the dog bribing his owner was proposed by a guy from my area and was filmed in my city! I am obligated to like it, but it really was a funny ad.
The Go-Daddy commercials are the same every year. They just get boring after a while.
The M&M one was probably my favorite one. It was definitely the funniest out of all of them. The Doritos one with the dog was a close second.
The Go-Daddy ads pretty much boil down to "Look at the boooooobs gotooursite." C'mon, I've seen porn with better marketing.
The Acura "Transactions" ad is funny, as well as the Audi "Vampires" one, but the Chrysler "Halftime in America" ad is the best.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelMy favorite would have to be the one for the GI Joe movie, if only because of my brother's face when Bruce Willis popped up.
You know what? This thread has been gathering dust for a long time. I’m gonna bring it back for Super Bowl LVIII and its commercials.
Here’s the first one for Paramount+:
Let's be honest here — the majority of tropers only care about the Super Bowl because of the over-the-top advertising that takes up so much of the TV broadcast, the actual football almost becomes secondary. And who can blame us for loving that particular part of the experience so much? It's not like these people will spare any expense when each company has already spent millions of dollars on the time-slot reservation alone...
...so the advertising agencies have a chance to completely let their hair down. No inhibitons. Anything goes. And the results are a hugely enjoyable mix of So Cool Its Awesome and So Bad, It's Good that gives even the non-sporty of us a reason to watch just as intently as those of us who actually care about the game itself.
So what were your favourites from this year's showcase, and why did you like them so much? As a Top Gear fan I really can't not post this link to their Top 10 pick, because in my mind it's as good a starting point as any.
