Its just a picture of a glove...

To really show the trope we will probably need some text like [1][2]

Support pull. I don't think the second one will scale well.

Support pull. Second one seems a bit...wordy.

Also support pull. Also not sold on the suggestions; I don't think they'll scale well.

How about Kyle with a full set of Lantern rings?

I know nothing about the other rings, but I get the feeling that something powerful and bad is about to happen. I like it.

Um, I don't even think the picture is an example. Unless those gems have powers on their own. Come to think of it, a lot of examples here are things that aren't full set bonuses, but things that don't work at all without the full set.

So we should have a picture that shows things are powerful on their own, but when combined...

Captain Planet and the rings would be an example.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Um, I don't even think the picture is an example. Unless those gems have powers on their own.

They do have powers of their own, each one controls one particular aspect of the universe or something like that. However, I'm not sure if they have any "bonus" power when collected; the reason Thanos becomes near-omnipotent when he gets them is that he can now use all of them at once, not that they grant some extra powers when together.

I'm voting against a pull on the basis that the existing image isn't misleading. It isn't the full trope by any measure but I can see a full set there, and to some extent an (unspecified) big deal being made about it being a full set. To my mind the proposals so far aren't an improvement over that.

Proposals aren't great. All we need is a zoomed in pic that says "+X% damage when equipped with Super Gauntlets, Super Armour and Super Helm"

None of the proposals are any better. Against pull.

To DQZ's question - the current pic is very much an example; the Infinity Gems are incredibly powerful individually, but when combined as they are on the Infinity Gauntlet, the wearer effectively becomes God.

That being said, I'm neutral on the pic...can't look at any of the suggestions now to see if any are better.

Finally took a look at the suggestions in the OP...I don't think those World Of Warcraft pics will work at all for scaling issues...decent for Image Links, though. Favoring the current image.

Also favouring current image, although that one with all the power rings looks darn cool.

If anything, for a text-based example I think it's better to go with set items from Diablo 2 than WorldOfWarcraft.

From Diablo 2:

Less texty example

Those are only images on a technicality.

Even if that weren't true they communicate nothing, except maybe those items are part of a set I guess.

[up] Yep, that's the weapon/armor stat screen from Diablo II. The stuff at the top is the item's attributes, the middle is the bonuses you get for equipping it along with the others, and the list at the bottom shows the items needed to complete the set.

That being said, I dunno that it's better than the current...good for Image Links, for sure.

I was the one who suggested the Infinity Gauntlet pic in the YKTTW, but I admit that the current one could be better.

I could support the Kyle image with the various power rings if we have a side-by-side before and after.

Here's a good "before" pic: [1]. And after: [2]. Bonus Points for the fact that each individual ring is in the first pic, and the second pic has their logos all over Kyle's new costume.
