I've been watching a selection of episodes recently because of the upcoming IDW comic. Out of all the Merchandise-Driven cartoons of the 80s, Jem does feel the most creator driven since Christy Marx's name comes up a lot.
One of my favorite moments from the show so far is Starbight, Part 3. Eric Raymond has basically fired everybody and taken over all production of the movie when Reality Ensues and all the unions come in to complain about his methods.
I also liked the Britrock episode because instead of the character asking his or her friends to be a part of a big lie in order to impress the parents like we usually see, it's the other way around since Jetta's parents are no better than her (that explains a lot actually).

I wonder how the movie will actually handle everyone. Hopefully it goes a hell of a lot better than say, The Last Airbender.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceSorry for the massive bump, but I made a Nightmare Fuel page for Jem.
Also, should we made a separate page for the comic?
The Protomen enhanced my life.I'm glad I got to see this show thanks to the Hub. it's pretty dang good.
I often envision some sort of reboot that sees them all in high school sometimes.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefIs the comic any good? Should we make a trope page for it?
The Protomen enhanced my life.If there are separate tropes for it, we could have a sub section in the main age for the comics.
It's Over Anakin, I have the high ground! The trailer for the live-action movie is out.
Jem fans... aren't pleased. (Christy Marx asked Hasbro if she could help, but they said no, so I'm not surprised.)
The Protomen enhanced my life.Sadly, while it has some definite Jem elements, it looks waaay too much like a Miley Cyrus movie.
Think how unique it could have been if they'd actually adapted the premise of the original show.
Oh dear, the Jem page now says this XD;
"Now has a live action-film in development, updating the story to modern times. More news here. The movie's trailer was released on May 12, 2015, and sparked a HUGE Internet Backlash, spawning the hashtag "#NotMyJem", pleas for people to boycott the film and basically being a textbook example of They Changed It, Now It Sucks!."
The Protomen enhanced my life.Wasn't going to watch it anyways. But at least Michael Bay isn't directing it.
"We be we baby!"Jem did have a habit of doing crazy stuff, though not quite on world-saving levels. (Competing in the Olympics, going to Hawaii and having a volcano erupt, time travel, etc.)
The Protomen enhanced my life.That... trailer...
...What the hell even was that shit?
Even the Live action Super Mario Bros. Movie looks better than that dreck, and that had 7 feet tall, tiny-headed Goombas! And I have a sinking feeling that one utterance of "Showtime, Synergy" will be woefully out of context.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefLet's just hope that the sequel will be more fateful to the original by introducing Synergy and That One Guy, Eric?
"We be we baby!"Eric Raymond isn't in the movie? But he's the main villain!
The Protomen enhanced my life.We need to stop assuming, because Jason Blum knows his Jem
EDIT: Yeah, It's going to redirect you to something else, but it's there.

"We be we baby!"I don't really trust some movie producer basically going "Nuh uh!" though.
Say it just hit me, why do they call themselves "the Holograms"? Where does that part come from?

Synergy uses holograms to project Jem's image onto Jerrica.
The Protomen enhanced my life."Let's give away our secret in the band name!"
Rule #1 in 80's cartoons: Humans are dumb.
"We be we baby!"According to IMDB, the Misfits are not in the movie.
And neither are the Stingers.
The main villain appears to be Zipper, who was one of Eric Raymond's hired thugs and had the least characterization of anyone on the show.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I wish Doug Walker could slam this movie.
"We be we baby!"I do find it kind of interesting that they gender-swapped Eric Raymond to Erica Raymond.
Movie Prediction: The band finds out about Erica's all-about-me ways, and the stinger of the movie shows her hiring the Misfits since the Holograms jumped ship.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Aww, this fan art pitch is cute. There are others in the description, too.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
And so the journey is at an end.
It was kind of hard at first and I did struggle at certain points in Season 1. However, by the time of Season 2, i was hooked and I plowed right through all the remaining episodes. Season 2 was definitely the strongest overall with a lot of really standout episodes like "The Bands Break-Up", "The Fan", "Talent Search", and "Roxy Rumbles".
My favorite characters overall were Stormer and Kimber so that probably explains why I love "The Bands Break Up" so much. I relate to Kimber very well because I am also a younger sibling who constantly feels overshadowed. Stormer meanwhile was the misfit with teh most consistently likable character. Still, one thing you can't deny is that this show gave pretty much every main character some development and depth. Well, except Eric and he's just so lovable as a dickhead that I can forgive it.
Dance was the most beautiful girl in the whole show however.
I enjoyed the Stingers. Riot was a great addition to the main cast. I wasn't too fond of Minx and Rapture but oh well. I think the Stingers worked well because they were the true Manipulative Bastards of the show. The Misfits had their schemes but they generally were too petulant and childish to take seriously. The Stingers were far more mature and respectable in their villainy.
Also I would recommend reading this article: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2012/01/31/best-jem-episodes/
"Renaissance Woman" in particular is just fucking WEIRD. It is like the characters dropped out of time. A new lord is being crowned and is sending out his goons to collect taxes while the rightful lord is imprisoned in the catacombs of his own castle.
I'm not sure what my favorite songs are...that'll be a tough choice to make. I'll watch some vids on YT and come back with my thoughts later.
