Motion to pull
Relies entirely on the caption to get the trope across.
Yeah, and not very heartwarming either. Also, is it just me or does it look squashed?
Rhymes with "Protracted."Perhaps we could go with a screenshot of Penny from The Rescuers in the orphanage?

Fight smart, not fair.I like that shot, although the quality is kinda low.

AAA THOSE EYES
Yeah, Annie's eyes have always freaked me out a little. That being said, I like that last suggestion.

Alright, original image has been pulled.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about. Here's the pulled picture:
I've also tagged the page. Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - Camacan
Anyone else for the last Annie pic?
Well it's certainly an improvement. I can get "being their cheerful, innocent orphan selves." from that.
How about Oliver from Oliver And Company?
The Protomen enhanced my life. He's a cat, which could present some problems. I'd suggest the original Oliver Twist, but 1) I have no pictures at hand and 2) I don't see what's so bad about the current picture suggestions.
This trope is not exclusively about humans, though.

But isn't this trope HEARTWARMING orphan?
Granted I know these orphans will have backstories that make you sob your eyes out...but shouldn't the picture of this trope be more....
An Orphan that just melts your heart going "awwwww! ^_^" Instead of cry?
(Correct me, please, if I'm wrong)
This is Mimi-don't let her cuteness fool you-she's got spunk.I'm aware of that, but it seems a little easier to convey "orphan" with a human.
Although that box actually does a pretty good job of it - the problem, as the previous poster said, is that it's not exactly "heartwarming" so much as pitiable.
Something from these two pages? [1]◊ [2]◊ she drops that she is an orphan then negi completely changes opinion of her.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I thought pitiable is what we were going for; my mistake. @ and
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI think the Oliver picture works for Woobie: Western Animation better than the current picture. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Woobie/WesternAnimation It's not that the current is bad, but an abandoned kitten is so pitiful even Oswald would want to take him home.
Oliver And Company is a movie, not a TV show. If it goes on any woobie subpage it would be Film...
... which I'm inclined to guess it does, on looking at the fairly JAFAAC current image there. May I have the official go-ahead to replace the Film subpage's current image with the Oliver And Company image a few posts up?

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartWestern Animation Films go under Western Animation, so Oliver would fit there.

This girl doesn't look orphaned in the least. For all we can tell, that woman is her mother. And having a living mom usually means that you're not an orphan.
