"Okay. I don't remember who I am either. Nice to meet all of you," Jay said.

When he tried to continue, Jay's voice caught on his tongue. For God's—God, an omniscient, omnipotent entity worshiped by those of Abrahamic faith—sake, he had been thrust into this situation without warning. How could there be a warning? If there ever was a warning, he certainly couldn't remember it now.

And that stuttering woman, Bloody Mary—something about her annoyed Jay, just a bit, because he knew that she was as good as a walking corpse without the help of her team. Even if he didn't remember anything, he knew that those who spent their time huddled in a corner would perish quickly.

A team without leadership would fall apart. But they didn't have to be a team to cooperate. They were teammates only because he knew that they wouldn't have an incentive to kill him.

Today had been declared a day of rest, but Jay didn't intend on making it one. If the people out there trying to kill him decided to waste it, that was fine by him.

Clearly, he had to identify the other participants. Anybody wearing one of the collars, obviously, was one. But, looking outdoors, wind howled, bending the branches of the trees lining the road backwards. Anybody wearing a scarf was either chilly or hiding a collar; there was no way to tell.

He almost waited for—he didn't know, God or the Devil to whisper the answer in his ear—before he stood. But it was pointless. Everybody would probably still be in their own rooms, and he had no idea how he might figure out where those were.

"Tomorrow, we explore our surroundings," he said. "For today, we wait. You can try relaxing if you can. If we want to coordinate an attack, we should know each others' powers. We can do that today."

Argh, he thought as he tugged at the collar, I'm stuck with this, I guess. The collar had no visible edges where it was sealed together at, and it was noticeably metal. Perhaps some cloth may hide it or ease the discomfort...or maybe he just had to get used to it.

He glanced at his cell phone and took in the information. His eyes widened. What kind of game I'm in? With hope, whatever power manifest would be cool, or at least useful, and not some type of girly power like sparkling skin. At least the cell phone looked high-tech...probably. His mind felt strange. A lot of information was there, like facts about the states or fairy tales, but nothing in there concerned anything personal to him. He was a simple database, which was still figuring out its inner workings.

Curious about his appearance, he looked into the television screen. Brown hair, lanky body, short-sleeve hoodie with khaki shorts. He could only speculate about what person he was, but he probably had a good life.

He bent down, and something in his pocket pressed against his skin. A tinge of discomfort came to him. Curious about the source, he shoved his hand down his pocket and fished out an object. He brought it close to him and rolled the object around in his fingers. It was a red bishop piece from a game of chess. Sadness seeped into his mind. Somewhere, possibly, a chess set was missing a piece. Maybe he'll find that set, if it existed.

I don't even know my name. I should give myself a nickname for now. Hmm...something cool yet not overly cheesy. Bishop? Nah...King? Nope. Knight? Closer...Wait, I shouldn't think in terms of chess pieces. Something more abstract...how about...Redd! Yeah, that's it, Redd! It's a real name...I think. Not my, but it sounds right.

Redd sat straight up on the end of the bed, beaming. He continued rolling the piece in his hand. Now, he had to sort other things out.

His expression changed when he saw the man in the labcoat. With that, he slipped the bishop piece back in his pocket and faced the man. "Hey, you. Do you have any idea what's going on? And what's with the lab coat?"

Good Lord, that was rather brusque of him. He knew somehow that kids nowadays weren't polite anymore, but he felt... old just thinking about that.

Sighing as a calm smile crossed his face, he turned to look at the kid. "The voice from the television just gave you your answer, boy." he began in a mild Austrian accent. "Please don't tell me that you weren't paying attention." He tugged at the front of the coat, pulling it taut so that it would lay flat. "I know 'what's with this labcoat' about as much as you do."

An older man felt his vision begin to focus as he awoke to the feel of the floor. For a moment, he remained perfectly still. While his body did not move, his mind was racing faster than any Formula One car could. What is going on? Where am I? Who am I?

His right hand tightened around a cold metal object. Still lying on the ground, the unwitting contestant pulled his arm forward to see what he was holding. A small, steel protractor...

Tangeant.

The one word leapt up in his mind and he seized hold of it. Slowly getting to his feet, the protractor wielding man realised he was not alone in the room. Three other people occupied the room, with two of them already engaged in conversation. One was a man in a lab coat while the other was a young man.

Bah, teenagers. Nothing but trouble, the lot of them!

Coughing, for both the sake of getting their attention as well as clearing his throat, the man was now standing. "May I ask what is going on here? You two seem to be... Chatting, so I believe that you have at least some rudimentary idea as to why I have awoken without my memories and with a protractor in my hand. Any explanations?"

The stocky man in the corner woke up, and listened groggily to the announcement. As he did, he stared down at himself. He had on some ratty old shirt from a band he couldn't quite place, some torn up jeans, and a black leather jacket. In his left hand, he had a tight grip" on an old stuffed bunny. He quickly snapped to attention , and to his feet, when he heard that his collar could explode. The voice then unleashed a torrent of information on him, most of which he managed to catch. He looked around the room, and saw a gaunt man talking to a small, pale girl. A girl with dyed hair walked out of the bathroom. "...where are we?" he asked no one in particular.

Ring paused, watching Jay for a second. Then a thin smile grew on her face.

It seemed she was right. She could use this man, no matter how useless the others turned out to be. But… she didn't want to try out her power just yet. It was to early trust him.

Ring let her gaze wander around the room without sparing a glance for the other two, whose existence she had apparently decided wasn't worth acknowledging.

It was back to waiting, now.

Alex nodded, but said nothing. Natalie. Alex remembered Natalie, though Gear didn't. Apparently, she'd been searching for him ever since he disappeared.

Alex was flattered, Gear was annoyed. Both decided it would be best to hear things out more before acting. Wait and see what they'd actually have to do.

Standing near the The Altar Dominik silently listened intently to everything this Suki character had to say.

"Hello." he said in a soft tone "I'm Dominik."

With his hands in his pockets his bright green eyes seemed to brighten the room even though the sun did so itself.

He looked down at the ground and noticed he wasn't wearing shoes like he thought he was. He quietly thought What is this meeting about anyways?

Uhm... okay. Maybe she didn't speak English. Or had... problems.

"Are you all right? Sind Sie in Ordnung?"

Arzt looks at the maculine-ish girl who emerged from the bathroom. "So we're going to kill people, huh?"

The prospect of murder didn't enthrall him. Nor did it disgust him. Odd, considering that he was supposed to be a doctor. Or was he? Maybe the syringe didn't mean that much. Had he killed before? Was the memory still somewhere in his mind, even if he can't really... remember it?

Rosa first nervously glanced at Bunny, then at Cherry, and seemed to calm down a little bit. After spending a moment to regain her composure, she tried to explain the situation as best she could.

" . . . Well," Her tone had shifted from flustered to icy as she fiddled with her cross, light dancing off of the silver and jewels, " . . . If by 'all right' you mean terrified and exhausted, then yes. I'm perfectly fine."

Still not making eye contact with anyone she continued with seemingly complete indifference to the subject, ". . . And yes, I suppose we will be, if we wish to live."

Cole waved at Dominik childishly, "Hi Dominik!"

Suki nodded, and walked up to Dominik, "Hey there, kid. I know who you are. I worked with your dad," she gave him a casual smile, "As for the meeting, we're just getting to know each other, since we'll all be a team. And hopefully receive a mission."

The little boy that was standing next to his father approached Dominik, "Why aren't you wearing any shoes?" he asked, his voice devoid of emotion.

Meanwhile, Cole went back to Alex. He didn't exactly like quiet people that much, and Alex hadn't looked at him like he was a weirdo or something yet, "Natalie's scary! I don't like her! Mermaids are scary already, 'cause they eat peoples' souls, but I think she's scariest! She goes out of her way to do bad things and try to hurt us!"

Note that this is probably not how Alex would remember her. When she was younger, she was redheaded, tiny, fully human, and very optimistic, cheerful, kind and very loyal to her friends. She'd have occasional emotional breakdowns, but at the time they just seemed like hormonal teenage things. these were actually hints of some form of psychological condition.

Empty...

The girl felt completely empty inside... her mind was muddled, her world completely dark. Slowly she started to become aware of a few things... the coldness of the floor she lay in, the softness of the clothes she was wearing... Something hard but strangely comforting in her left hand...

And then, as if coming from far away, she heard a voice she only half listened to. The darkness of her sleep was cozy and inviting, so as the words drifted in she momentarily chose to ignore their meaning.

However, her peaceful state was soon broken by some very loud yelling nearby of her. With a slight groan the hoodie wearing girl opened her dark eyes and slowly rose into a kneeling position. She rubbed the blurriness out of her eyes with her right hand as her left one hung still holding unto the hard thing inside of it.

The room she was lying in seemed pretty fancy... and there were three other people on the room. The yelling that sprung her into consciousness seemed to have come from a rat like man who, once again, yelled something. Still a little out of it, the girl merely stared at the actions of the other three people in the room, her head swaying a little bit.

After entering the church with the other four people whom he had been too lazy to properly introduce himself to, Levi made a mental note of all the people who already happened to be in the church. Suki...Cole...Byron...Cole— that fellow was way too friendly. Levi was sure he was a skeevy little bugger deep underneath that bubbly exterior.

He sat in a slouched position on one of the pews and tapped his foot impatiently. I could still be in my bunk sleeping in today, but Nooo. I wake up nice and early to meet a bunch of people who will probably get me killed later on. Great, just utterly fantastic.

He stared boredly at Cole, who might as well be bouncing off the walls compared to Levi.

The door to the conference room opened as a ragged, middle-aged man with white hair and dark eyes walked in. He was wearing street clothes with an aged windbreaker, all of which seemed to hang off his body. "Sorry I'm late," he said, " I just had to take care of—"

He stopped himself short as he noticed the odd stares and glares of the other people in the room. He hurried pulled a small mirror from an inside pocket and realized what was wrong. "My apologies, one moment please." He hurried out of the room and shut the door behind him.

Those still inside the room could hear a faint grunt, followed by some muffled coughing. The person who re-entered the room was markedly different than the one who just left. Youth had returned to this person's face; white hair was replaced with shiny black; dark beady eyes had changed to an off-putting gold; and the ill-fitting clothes looked practically tailored to his physique. This was the Samuel Shaw they had been expecting. "Right, sorry again," he said. "I was busy trying to 'acquire' some more 'wealth' and must have lost track of time with the whole defrauding a bank thing." He smiled as he took a chair at the table.

"I’d suggest you listen up, as much won’t make sense unless you do. You can’t remember anything about yourself or..."

The young man had been awake for some time, but it was the voice that made him realise he was not lying on his bed. He felt tired; almost lethargic. It took serious effort to even pay attention to what the voice said. As the voice spoke, that weakness quickly disappeared- to be replaced by panic, mostly.

...the first day will not start until tomorrow, so consider this a day zero of sorts. I bid you good luck."

Okay, at least he had some time to think. He first looked at his hand, seeing a wooden violin peg. Violin? How do I- wait...

He imagined holding a violin. He placed his chin on the chinrest, and positioned his hands. Yes, he had played the violin before. Better than nothing.

He looked at the three othes. There was a boy somewhat younger than him, a girl about his age, and an odlder man, clearly asian. The first was already screaming, totally panicked. The asian talked in some foreign language, he had no idea which one. And the girl had still to fully wake up.

These were his teammates. He was supposed to kill people with their help. God.

He looked at his card- a tarot card he didn't recognise, but at least he knew it was a tarot card. He quickly hid it in his pocket, picking his cell phone at the same time. He checked the messages. Not much in there- he deleted them immediately. That done, he was ready to greet his new "friends".

The teen -Dean, he said Dean- was sobbing in a corner, and he didn't even know if the asian guy knew English. He decided to approach the girl first.

"Are you okay? I'm, err, Tuner, by the way." He raised his voice, so that everyone could hear him. "My name's Tuner."

"Oh, and Dean is right. We are all friends here. I mean, you know, where we are... we should talk, all of us."

Since the guy, Tuner he called himself, approached her and started talking the girl, she could no longer remain in a daze. She closed her eyes and shook her head from side to side in order to chase away her sleepiness. Due to her movement, her violet colored hood slipped back allowing her platinum blond hair to sway with every motion.

After finding herself slightly more awake the girl rose to her feet, finding her balance to be a little in disarray... but aside from that... "I'm alright"

"I heard it all... what the voice said... I remember all of it" The girl said. To a person with such few memories even remembering something she heard while half asleep appeared to be quite easy.

"We're going to have to kill someone? Everyone of us?" She then asked, her balance making her stumble a step back where, thankfully, a wall prevented her fall.

Tuner helped the girl stand on her feet. She still hadn't recovered completely.

"Yeah... seems like it. But maybe we won't have to. I mean, we just woke up... "

He tried to sound confident, but his voice trembled. That was bullshit; no way they could just walk out of this. It was so well organised, it was clear that whoever was behind this, they meant business.

"Look, the voice said we have a whole day to prepare, so take it easy. Alright, first of all: Have you checked your phone yet?"

The man looked down at his watch. He was very late now, but he didn't care. He would take however long he wanted, even if that meant getting chewed out by this mysterious fellow. Strolling down the hallway, he finally came across the conference room door. Having one last look down the hallway, he drew a sigh and said to himself "Let's get this over with"

Going through the door had been easy, looking at the faces that stared at him as he enter was difficult. There was a younger man with dark eyes that seemed to just pierce through him. Another young man with brighter eyes than the other one, was not paying him hardly an attention at all and seemed to deep in thought. There was also a woman at one end of the table, but he didn't care. His eyes settled at the man on the other end of the table. 'This must be the guy' he said to himself. Taking a seat, he nodded to everyone and slowly closed his eyes. 'Lets leave introductions until after this meeting is concluded' he thought to himself.

As Leon was working with his PC, surfing on the internet and working on some coding, he casually looks at the clock... then double-takes it. "What the... When did it became 8:30? It was 7:00 just a minute ago! Damnit, i'm late for the meeting!" He quickly saves his work, then turns off his computer before making a run for it.

"Why am i so bad with time?", he asks himself while running through the hallway. "And why is my room so far away from the meeting room?"

He finally arrives at the meeting room, practically gasping for breath while his heart is thumping at a dangerous speed. He opens the door and walks/stumbles in. "I'm sorry... I'm late... Stupid time... Had to run..." He starts to force himself to breathe through his nose, trying to calm his heart and lungs down a bit. He looks around the room, noticing that everyone is already there, though it seemed that at least one person arrived just before he did. A small comfort; He might have been the last one to arrive, but not by much.

The PC described in this post is just your regular old PC any random guy could have; It has no special functions to speak of and is just there to provide an explanation for Leon being late to the meeting.

Well, at least Dean was already thinking about preparations, so there was that. Also, he seemed to have his panick under control. Two points for him.

He got up, still a little unsteadily, and opened the door. He peeked out both ways down the hallway and sprinted down the hallway towards the elevators. Once there he smacked the down button and waited. First plan of action would be to grab some keys, and then also grab some food and weapons. Then wait for other competitors.
