I would hope so.

I really don't like the Lucavi, they just feel out of place in a game with politics. The first two chapters are good but as soon as the Zodiac Stones are introduced things just went downhill for me.

So, here's a weird little concept I have: the Live A Live characters get dropped into Ivalice by some mysterious force. Basically a fix fic idea that I've had for a while, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth writing it out for Na No Wri Mo.

La L is reasonably short, but FFT is not, and I've been trying to find some resources for putting the story together.

Any ideas?

(Also - I'm not actually sure if this is even the right place to ask this. It's definitely got more to do with Video Games than Writer's Block because of what I'm asking for, and I'm pretty sure that it belongs in this discussion instead of the Live A Live one...)

Question about Saint Ajora: Saint Ajora is referred as female in the japanese-only Ultimania. It is mentioned in Gender Neutral Writing that " languages on the other end of the spectrum (such as Japanese and many East Asian languages) don't bother with pronouns much anyway, making it much easier and more natural to obscure a character's gender (which explains why localization teams have so much trouble with this issue in anime and video games)."

Someone knows the exact japanese word that was translated as "he" in the Final Fantasy Tactics game when referring to Ajora?

So I've started playing the PSP version of Tactics (War of the Lions) again, this time for the first time since playing the PSP version of Tactics Ogre and... wow. They did a much better job with the Tactics Ogre update. The FFT version is borderline unplayable compared to it, which is a genuinely surprising feeling considering how many hours I've sunk into it... and honestly how many issues I have with the TO game.

This might be awkward, but apparently Matsuno answered the question of what the Ajora/Utima gender question is. Apparently he said that Ajora reincarnated as a woman. Which is extra intersting considering the dev art labeling Ajora as female.

I always assumed Ultima is a girl.

And that Ajora was just a random dude who was possessed by her.

But I thought Saint Ajora was a guy?

That's out of context.

I read Matsuno's tweet and he said the original Saint Ajora written in the scriptures was a man but the one we actually see in Tactics was reincarnated as a woman.

He also says he wasn't involved in whatever was written about Ajora in FF 12. So presumably, whatever discrepancy there might be about Ajora's gender between games is probably an internal developer mixup.

You'd think so going from the Germonique Scriptures, but there is the Ajora from FFXII's in-game encyclopedia being a lady. And again, there's the Ajora dev art Matsuno put up for a special FFXIV event which labeled the phony saint female (which admittedly could be outdated).

You just ignored half the content of the tweet where he explicitly says he won't comment on the FF 12 Ajora because he was not involved in whatever was written about it (Matsuno left during 12's production).

The tweet literally says:

"Was it just a coincidence that Ajora reincarnated in a female body?"

"No. The original Saint Ajora was a man. He was set up to be reincarnated as a woman in FFT. I was not involved with the Saint Ajora in FF 12, so I will refrain from commenting on that."

Ultima and reincarnated!Ajora are female. Ajora in life was a man.

I stand by my idea that Ajora is just a random dude that Ultima possessed.

Anyway it's neat that Matsuno considered giving Delita his own route. Maybe if it actually happened we'd see those cut Templars or the unseen Lucavi.

Imagine if Delita had his own route, and he had his own ending.

Man, that would certainly spark a debate. Like I remember people arguing if he's just a straight up bastard or if he's just as well-intentioned as Ramza but willing to cross the line to do what he feels is necessary.
