Do not doubt Fudoh Motherfucking Zen
The fact he had a giant "NO FUN ALLOWED" scroll prepared shows how awesome he is.
Oh wow.
Look at the episode preview. We see a few characters with ARM COLLARS on.
To prevent them from falling in love or some shit? Sheeesh.
My guess (and /m/'s) isthe collar things cause a light amount of pain when arousal feelings occur and gen just wants people to overcome it and earn their love.
Or to prevent a massive orgy. Who knows.

LOVE IS FORBIDDEN My lord, that was such an excellent display of trolling. This Zen character fascinates me.
My jaw was hanging open at that Mugen Punch, and then it makes a ring around the Earth.
And after that it crushes the Berlin. Wow. Just wow.
Well, 12,000 years ago, the Earth had a regular moon. Then the Aquarion used the Infinity Punch. Now there's just a series of asteroids.
Also: lol at regular missiles being able to make it into orbit.
Fight smart, not fair.
with Fudou. you know he's got at least 3 ulterior motives for it, all of them eccentric and amusing.
Nice ep. I enjoyed the scene involving the Berlin as well as the epic buildup to it (with that lovely reference to the first series). And Mykage is finally awake! Assuming he really is Toma's full reincarnation (unless there's a bit of a twist there in true Aquarion tradition), I hope we'll see scenes between him and Zen Fudoh. I thought one of the things lacking in the original series was that these two never really interacted despite their shared history in the past. The OP animation shows those two as kind of overseers over Amata and Kagura's battle, respectively, so perhaps that hints at some sort of confrontation between the two later on (at least I hope so). It's also interesting to see more about Izumo and his motivations on the Abductor side. I could easily see him sharing some traits with Johannes (the head angel in the first Aquarion series), but I'm sure his interaction with Mykage will be worth waiting for.
As a sidenote, it's kind of amusing that the female teacher (the woman in clerical robes who oservees the girls in the school) is called Suomi (the Finnish name for Finland). It's a neat coincidence which I as a Finn am happy about.

Okay, this episode was hilarious.
But at the same time kind of harsh.
Love causes Aquarion to go berserk so they are trying to get the Elements on the VERGE of love? Damn. But I guess the moral of the story is don't fall too much in love with a pilot in aquarion or...it will go berserk and...a gay angel will steal her away, while she grips your arms so hard they rip your arms out...?
But I see whats going on. The passion between Donar and his girlfriend was too much like Apollonius/Apollo-Celiane/Silvia in the OVA. This is the reason a third pilot is important.
Brown Ranka getting zapped over the 2 guys was hilarious though.
Frog (Cat? This is becoming a running gag I think) confirmed for pure maiden however.
But Kagura causing Mikono to get zapped and it forming FORBIDDEN LOVERS? To the point where its the daily episode finishing blow!? Thats not good.
And it enforces the NTR joke going around.
Also donut analogies.

I still maintain that Mikono is going to drag Kagura to the Deava side eventually

I personally can't shake the feeling that this conflict isn't going to always be Daeva vs Altea.
The fact that we see their society means they want us to learn and get some insight into how they live.
Their macross like devotion to some pop idol is also going to be important.
Sigh. Trying to figure out how Kawamouri works is not for the sane.
theres that too, yeah. But my two WMG for the series atm are
Kagura isnt going to be "evil" throughout the entire series. His replacing of zessica in the pairing menu cant have been a complete coincidence. Secondly, I'm betting love had nothing to do with aquarion going bersek, and Zen and Rena know it. But theyre not willing to divulge the real cirumstances just yet or arent fully aware of them.
Dat Zessica. o_o
Dat Sazanka. XD
Dat Unusual Euphemism. XD XD
Dat Forbidden Lovers. XD XD XD
It's ingenious!

I find it hilarious that the plan to keep things from progressing to True Love is to set up a Love Triangle :p
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntAnd electroshock torture.
Fight smart, not fair.
This + The fact Kawamouri worked on this and Macross Frontier makes the later make a lot more sense now...
So we should expect the macross Frontier ending where Amata decides Zessica and Mikono are both people he loves to a point where he cant bear to choose?
After Genesis of Aquarion I don't think anything we predict is going to end up being correct.
New episode out.
Wow, did not expect Shrade to bite it so soon in the show.
A Heroic Sacrifice so soon, by being a sword that can only be used once. Just can't predict this heck of a show!
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Just marathoned the previous series and all that's out with this one. Haven't seen the OVA's yet, but I'm not sure there's all that much to miss.
The rather annoying part about a reincarnation plot is that there's really no rules to go by - especially once you start talking about splitting souls.
My speculation for this series after the latest episode:
We're dealing with split worlds here: Kagura is a reincarnation of Apollo, and comes from a world which was first remade 24,000 years ago - I.e, a world in which the events of the original series happened, exactly as shown. Amata is a reincarnation of Apollonious, and lives on a world 'Vega' which is only on it's second cycle of reincarnation. In his world, only the events that actually took place during the timeline of the original series happened; there was no prior 'Aquarion' cycle, and Apollo and Sylvia where original characters to that particular timeline.
Side note: Anybody else think that the commonly-accepted romanization of the character who's name is pronounced as 'Celiane' is wrong? Based on the Theme Naming in the original series, I'm guessing that it should be written as 'Selene', the lunar goddess in Greek mythology.
Okay, Aquarion Spada was kickass. I don't think Shrade has already kicked the bucket, though. He's probably barely hanging on to life.
And is that a scared Zessica I see in the preview? ME GUSTA
Yeah. Note that the Aquarion didn't break up. If this follows the same rules as the original series, he's still there.
OP and ED are out.
Fight smart, not fair.Well, at least we know now who the real "Yunoha" is. It's surprising, actually.
Also LOL LOLI GATTAI! Yeah, Yunoha is a little kid with Byakuren's color-gradient hair.
Is she actually a little kid or would Older Than They Look apply here?

I don't think it was ever specificed actually, but the usual assumption would be that she's the same age as everyone else, that is mid-teens. However, we're forgetting that we have ZEN FUDO as the commander, so he might have allowed a grade-schooler for the LULZ as usual. Hilariously, this completes the Andy/Mix dynamics by turning it into a triangle (note the Yunoha doll is now included in the OP, and Yunoha herself is now in the ED).
I think its less frustration he's aiming for and more that he knows full well forbidding love will simply inflame it even more.
Aquarion is a mecha that runs on strong emotion, after all.
