Yeah...in a way that still does way more damage to Venezuela. It's not a good thing when the biggest customer of the thing that makes up 90% of what you sell decides to boycott you.

Also, I've reading stuff from the satirical site ''El Chigüire Bipolar" and they really weren't lying in that they have become seers, they really did predict actions of the Venezuelan Goverment.

I dread that we have reached the age when satire and reality are one and the same. Do you think anyone would have seriously thought that a guy with the same kind of bluster as Senator Armstrong would become president of the United States?

Trump wishes he had a tenth the charisma as Armstrong.

Senator Armstrong has the benefit of being a Well-Intentioned Extremist. Trump lacks even that.

Where video-game comparisons are being made, present-day Venezuela is looking eerily like a badly-run game of Tropico, with Maduro being a particularly incompetent El Presidente.

Kind of a shame, really.

It's indeed a shame. All those oil and all the money that come with it never really amount to anything in the end.

I'm not even sure about "Well-meaning". Throwing the country back into a dog-eat-dog survival of the fittest Social Darwinism level of FREEDOM isn't very well-meaning.

I did say Extremist. That's kind of the point. He was warped as fuck, but he genuinely believed he was doing something useful for his country.

Trump and Maduro? Not so much.

You could spin it to Chavez, but let's say that Motive Decay is kind of a constant in our region.

Chavez was like, every online Leftist screaming for revolution, of course it ended on a series of stupid choices.

You know, it would be very ironic if Trump starts to give the green light to alternative/cleaner sources of energy, not out of concern for the environment, but to highlight the “independence” of the USA to foreign energy sources like oil or coal.

How Barrio Adentro wrecked the Venezuelan healthcare system.

Tldr. Barrio Adentro was created to adress Venezuelan healthcare issues but ended up becoming a Poor Man's Substitute for the actual Hospitals healthcare system.

They literally did the classical latinoamerican meme of "the robes make the doctor".

And yeah. That's a lot of danger. In the best case they just receted Paracetamol randomly. And that's the best
